The thing that I love about the Iron Maiden songs is that its not all about getting drunk, having sex with girls/ love problems, partying, drugs, and all that social stuff that many artists nowadays write about. Its historical ,adventurous and filled with literature. That's what i love about their music

Sam Hartley - There are plenty of bands that aren't about that... Don't make it seem like Iron Maiden is so unique in that aspect... Every heard of Rainbow, Dio, Metallica, Sabbath, etc, etc... So many of these storytelling bands that are NOT about sex and drugs... And not just back then, they still exist plenty. - The problem is that they don't tend to become big and popular anymore, and the "'music" industry promotes garbage.

Not about the band. But their security is bunch of assholes. In 2008 when they came to Budapest, I had a chance to wait for them at the airport before they got through the passport control. Only a few people could be there so it was a perfect chance to meet my very favorite band and have my vinyl cover signed by all of them. As soon as they got to the gate their security formed a chain not letting anyone near them and kept on repeating "back off, back the fuck off". (There was about 10 people all together, so it was not a typical crowd that awaits them after they get out of the airport terminal). If was so dissapointing seeing all of them pass right front of me and not being able to ask any of them for their signiture. 5 of them passed me because of the security. The 6th one stoped and told the security guard "let me sign it for him" and pushed the guard away. It was Steve Harris.

Agree. To me, his voice changed after the recovery from the cancer. But more than that, and I think he mentioned this in an interview "the body changes, the voice changes". The natural process of aging makes the resonance box older than before. After hitting 60 years old the difference is more evident.

The sound production of AMOLAD is so refreshingly dynamic, especially compared to the brickwalled-beyond-belief Dance of Death. I suppose it was a spontanious decision not to over-remaster it. Unfortunately the next few albums were much louder and AMOLAD remains a happy reminder of the sonically free breathing days of yesterday.

Iron Maiden interviews are appreciated, but this one is disappointing because of the interviewer. He focuses 95% of his attention on Bruce Dickinson and discounted everything Janick Gers said as quickly as possible so he could get back to staring longingly into Bruce Dickenson's eyes. Janick Gers has accomplished more in the first 5 years of his career than the interviewer can imagine accomplishing in a lifetime. Dickinson is a great front man, but Iron Maiden is far more than just a lead singer. The way this interview was conducted was disrespectful to Janick. I'm confident Maiden will never give this guy an interview again. Send the hate mail to me if you must, but before you do, have an objective look at how this interview was conducted.
