I just graduated from law school and my gf got me the orks patrol box and a stompa. I cant wait to use them, just gotta find a mek first. Idk how I would kitbash one

How I've been kitbashing mine is by using the big mek in mega armour mask on a boy with a standard or pipes on his back, works alright for the most part

Take regular Ork boy Glue a wrench on him or his hand. You have a Mek boy now.

Give a guy a gun that could be a custom slugga, and either a wrench or a weapon you can say is a killsaw and maybe make him a little mekanical(I’m giving both of mine funny robot legs made of sprue

It's an army I'll probably never play, but I often root for the Orks. I've met the players and they're great people.

I plan on starting a small Orks army myself, mostly using kitbashed Tau stuff for Dread Mob.

I've used the Bully Boyz a few times now. And they are brilliant. I've actually collected Bully Boyz since black reach. Nice to have them finally enjoy the spotlight.

Nice to see Orks doing well but it seems so far most of the tournaments they've done well in have been tiny. Often 30 or less and almost 100% ~40 or less. I'll be more curious to see the lists that pull out a top 4 for those 100+ majors.

I don’t have 100+ player data but I’ve got an ork player who made top 4 out of a 75+ event locally.

War Horde is arguably the strongest detachment but we’ve all played it and who wouldn’t want to have 2 Waaagh turns, 120 boys, or a big mech walker army. Da Big Hunt is really good but the restrictions to the “prey” and higher skill cap means you won’t see it much in tournaments. Speed Freaks is great for scoring but not much else.

I have not played orks in forever. What type of basic list would you recommend for the 120 boys? Like, what should I bring as a warlord or HQ? And other stuff

@@karamelapple8007 well, it’s pretty tough right now for Orks in Pariah Nexus. The new missions favor fast, melee and unfortunately we are pretty much the slowest and weakest melee army in the game right now. Everybody seems to still be throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. That said, Ghaz is great in almost every detachment. As far as your boys, Warboss gives them +1 hit in melee, Painboy keeps them alive, and Weirdboy teleports around the board. With a 20 man of Boys you can have 2 leaders as long as one is a Warboss. Put some Nobz and Flashgits in Trukks. Throw in at least 2x5 Stormboyz.

Its a weird thing with tenth, for every codex release we get one either good/okay one and a one that's just objectively weaker. Necrons and admech, orks and custards, tyranids and marines... I'm curious to see who wins between sisters and chaos..but let's be honest it's chaos

Kult of speed dakajet with a mek is flying under the radar, so hopefully, it dodges any nerfs. 12, 4+ hits/ crits + lethal + sustained hits, twin linked, and rapid fire.

Am I missing something with dread mob. It says grot vehicle but there isn’t anything with that key word. Also Mek guns have grot and vehicle does this count is this an oversight do you think?

Grot vehicle means exactly what you said, it's a model that is both grot and vehicle. Mek guns and kans both get the buffs.

Looks like beast snaggas are.barely used. I thought they were pretty decent now. Guess not.

In casual games, I am doing great with them. Not that my x=1 sample size means anything, but ... they ARE really good. Gotta control what "prey" you do, and surround and drown that aspect, but it has a very nice pace to allow you to dictate the next several months without having to re-purchase from scratch.

@thinkabouthelogic I'm on the fence about building a snagga oriented orky army. Biggest question I guess is are they more fun, in your opinion, than a more traditional ork setup?

I think its because of the price difference + sticky objectiv. 20 Boyz + Warboss are 235, 20 Beast Snaggas + Beastboss are 290 points...and no sticky objectiv. Thats huge! I think a point adjusment by 5 points in both directions for 10 guys would be a better internal balance (255 vs 270 points sounds more fair because sticky is so much better then +1S).

1st list now: 160 pts up and all warbosses nerfed and meganobz nerfed to hell 2nd list now: 50 pts up and some nerfs on Manz and Trukks (tank shock) 3rd list now: 80 pts up, warbosses & manz nerfed 4th list now: 60 pts up, everything nerfed to high hell, including manz benefitting from detachment ability. 5th list now: 60 pts up, same as above 6th list now: 150 pts up, lotta things nerfed.

So GW is looking to balance out the Ork bully boyz detachment and possibly do the same to the green tide detachment. First thing to do, within the balance data slate, is to have it state that within an Ork army you may only take one unit with the warboss keyword per army.

That actually really screws up a lot of the other detachment structures. Would just be better to say for Bully Boyz only Meganobz + Nobz get the second Waaagh perhaps -- not Warbosses... or... limit the 2nd Waaagh to one Warboss. Anything else and you are dramatically overshooting your nerf.

@@beanspud88 you’re right! no other faction has such a sensible rule like the one I suggested. GW should therefore roll it out to all factions. Only one chaos lord or daemon prince per CSM army, only 1 captain and only 2 lieutenants per space marine army, only 1 t’au commander and only 1 ethereal per t’au army and so on. I didn’t think people would go for such a sensible idea, but your comment has convinced me it’s needed for all factions.

The ork codex is way stronger than the necron codex and necrons got nerfed very very hard. I expect some major nerfs and points increases for the orks, and if they dont, I will be saying f$%k GW and selling all my stuff.

Where did the nasty orks touch you? Orks are not broken. Its a good codex for sure but nothing that is game breaking. Its still only a 55% win rate overall. Eldar were hitting 70% at one point. Stop throwing your toys out the pram.. But if your selling orks i am happy to buy.

@@smalwex it's not about winning and losing, it's about the fact that GW has a horrid track record of not balancing the game and predatory changes to entice purchases. Look at what they did to necrons, before their codex they were low 40's % win rate, codex comes out and their win rate jumped up because meta lists couldnt counter them so they got nerfed into the dirt with both massive point increases and nerfing of reanimation. Orks pre codex were already very strong in the hands of a good pilot, their codex release bringing insanely overpowered aspects. You remember all the vitriol over c'tans gaining a 5+ fnp, and no mention of them losing 2" of movement on a close range/melee only model? Mekboyz get a bloody 4+ fnp for up to 2 full battle rounds.

@@danjones3012 Uh, do you really want to compare Necrons & Orks? I mean... these are ORKS. They get their greatest thrills by racing across the tabletop in ramshackle Trukks, slamming into ruins and junk piles, jumping out (if they even survived the crash), and then going brrrrrr with whatever ranged weapons they have, if they even know how to use them. They also excel at rushing & tackling their opponents to "play." They are big dudes, they need new toys a lot. Lastly, Orks are generally not considered brilliant, strategic, well organized or possessing high levels of operational management. Their battle sheets tend to be a laughing matter, and they move slower than GW re-stocks Battleforce boxes. So all that said, don't hate on them or their players just because you aren't satisfied about what GW did to your army, know what I mean? And, while you are figuring your Necrons out? Try a friend's 500, 1000pt Ork army, or... buy one. You won't regret it.

@@thinkabouthelogic if you want to compare ork lore to necron lore, necrons should be cheaper points and better statted than orks which are lorewise a pale comparison to krorks which were a threat to necrons. What else you got?
