Thunderstorms formed over southeastern Wisconsin on the afternoon of May 31st, 2023. With little to no wind shear to work with, the storms barely moved over the course of their lifetime, and were generally sub-severe. However, due to a dry and well mixed boundary layer, a few storms were able to produce microbursts, which did cause some tree damage.
It was one of the driest Mays on record across the region, with hardly any rain and no storms at all up until the last day of the month. Hopefully things start getting more active soon, as drought conditions are beginning to intensify across the majority of the Midwest.
Thanks for watching!
