100%, we have one of those at my workplace and when it gets a bit empty we just make the machine give infinite attempts and start going at it and even though I'm weak asf I can get pretty high solely through good punching technique.

I think it’s a combination of precision, speed and technique. There’s guys that hit the thing and nearly take the machine off it’s feet but their score doesn’t be that great

The super low scores are when the punch isn't square enough. Doesn't matter how hard you hit it, if it's off alignment it reads really low. The key to getting a really high score is the ability to hit as hard as you can with good accuracy.

That’s not how the machine is made. There’s a sensor and it’s measured with speed. The faster the bag goes past the sensor the higher the number. It’s how the machine is made.

Pro Tip: Hit straight, center, near the bottom, aim behind the bag and follow through more than you would in a fight. It's a skill, a lot of good fighters get lower scores because they do it wrong.

As the 69th like, I have to comment :) I've played many of these and yes, you need to hit the bag low-centre with enough momentum for maximum impact. Quick jabs and hooks don't make the cut, I've seen people actually max these out twice (not the same type though, the ones with the steady bag).

@@saterdei I hate the look of this floppy bag piece of shit, so many scores were low because that stupid bag spun out and didn't connect witht the measuring pad properly. The steady bag types are way better. The only thing I like more about this machine is that the score goes up much higher than the regular 999.

@@TheWonderbrah Well not really, it's all about the machine registering the force of the punch. And it can only do that efficiently if the bag lands flush on the measuring unit. A lot of these people punched quite hard but the bag didn't connect properly because of bad accuracy.

These machines don't actually measure the force. They measure acceleration only. Try to hit with a sledgehammer and you'll get like 300 score. But I bet that sledgehammer hit has more force than a man punching that bag with 7000. 😉

The idea was that if you hit as hard as you can with a sledgehammer the punch bag and then with the punch, the force would definetely will be much greater on the sledgehammer side and you'll get like 300 points. As I said, those machines measure acceleration only since the mass, the punch bag, is the same.
