Crap Shane! I've been working on an e-book about recovering from bicep tears and then I see this! I might as well just rip it up and throw it out the window now!

@@MSTSystems You know I love listening to you and you did take this in a completely different direction that I've been writing. When I get it done, I'll send you a free copy. Really appreciate all that you do.

I’m 5 weeks post op after tearing on a 140kg sandbag, the info in this video is brilliant!! I’ve followed Shane Flowers progress and to hear the advice he’s been using has been a massive help, reloading is a huge mental battle as well and to hear top level strongman ‘take it easy’ is very reassuring. Great work Shane 🦾

Hey mate Another thing is gtn patches They for people with angina and they relax blood vessels and increase blood flow You can cut them into pieces and stick on skin above tendons if you use a big one it will cause you to feel lightheaded and can literally feel lots of blood in your braine

Bicep tears seem to be mostly on Atlas stones, is there similiar risk with sandbags? Would also be good to hear preventative exercises to include to make the bicep more resilient from tears. Awesome informative vid 👍🏻
@MSTSystems2 ай бұрын
Preventative exercises are the same as the rehab ones. You don’t strengthen them in a different way before they get injured

Have you ever dealt with AC-joint tear? MRI showed mild separation, but horizontal pressings is still an issue till this day, 2 years later.

Shane is it true that for those of us not on gear and handling only novice weights, a bicep tear is really rare?
@MSTSystems2 ай бұрын
@@marshp2749 it tends to come with lots of exposure and long term tendinitis so doesn’t matter to much if natural or not, but ped users can exceed the tolerance of the tendon quicker so can be more common

I used a frying pan for the supination/pronation exercises. Gotta eat, too!

@@danieldecorrevont4766 very clever haha, it’s perfect really, can progress on the cast iron

Haha man I use a cast iron for my pronation, not an armwreslter but I’ve gotten pronation gains for sure

I have been feeling a lot of what i think is tendonitis in my bicep for a couple months now. Are any of these steps applicable for getting rid of it? 😭😭
@MSTSystems2 ай бұрын
Yea of course. The same exercises will strengthen your tendons before and after and injury, the biomechanics of the arm don’t change

From experience, surgeons dont know what the hell they are talking about. I severed every extensor tendon on the back of my right hand at the wrist a few years ago after a fall through some glass. My NHS surgeon told me to keep it in the cast for 8 weeks i think it was, i did exactly as he said… now i cant individually move my fingers very well and my right hand just isnt any where near as dexterous or mobile as my left. i wish i would have ignored him and just did what i needed to once the swelling had gone down
