Bojji, a deaf, powerless prince who cannot even wield a children's sword. As the firstborn son, he strives hard and dreams of becoming the world's greatest king. However, people mutter about him behind his back as "a good-for-nothing prince" and "no way he can be king." Bojji is able to make his first ever friend, "Kage" (shadow) - a literal shadow on the ground who somehow understands Bojji well. (Kage is a survivor of the Kage assassin clan that was all but wiped out. No longer a killer, Kage now makes ends meet by stealing.) The story follows Bojji's coming-of-age as he meets various people in his life, starting with his fateful encounter with Kage.

What an amazing tear jerker of an episode. When you watch Ranking of kings episodes, notice how intricate the movement of hands is when sign language occurs. Hands are some of the hardest things to animate (IMO) consistently, and they do it to perfection.

why did so many not wanna watch it during the preview season. I heard mad people had to get influenced and told no no its actually good, the art isn't bad. Its wit studios they dont play. Is it cause this isnt following a manga? is it following manga? Is this an original idea. Usually original ideas are hit or miss but animation is great cause the studio does it in house and with passion. They dont really get into animating stories that arent their's unless its reall good IMO.

@@nichescenes I think it’s bc the art style is different from most of the popular anime out this season like AOT and demon slayer. the manga isn’t popular so nobody knows about it. But it already got a higher rating on Mal and is top 25 anime of all time already so give people time to discover it

@@plushcanvas8652 Interesting. So it is a manga. Kinda shows you can have a good first few chapters, good story, writing, etc. And people wont notice it. Bet alot of good stuff is getting ok sales. I remember JJK and Demon slayer and even tokyo revengers were selling average before their shows and word of mouth. Sadly MAL ratings are tuff, once something gets popular the try hards come in to 1/10 it and nitpick and bring up stuff the show wasnt trying to do...like reviewer: watched episode 1, not enough world building, what makes this so good. dropped it, i dont like that its not like ____ favorite show. Overhyped, only liked cause insert here. etc. Lol

@@Manilove223 In reality the only time you block in sword fighting is when you can't dodge the blow and have to redirect it. Boji is fighting EXACTLY how a swordsman is supposed to fight and the bastards don't like it just because he's winning.
