The anime directors are definitely up to date with the novels. You could feel the tension and the focus on Al which is ironic since some of his scenes were cut in season 1.

Hey could always incorporate different in the future al being from japan idnt major since we gound out since season 1people coming to this world happens and episode 1 we were shown this city which is inspired​ by venice which means someone came to this city and modeled it after that also the japanese styled buildings. @@jeffreyali3644 i mean it was S1 fault for skipping the lore about Al (the reveal was supposed to be happened in S1 Arc 3, in the carriage ep 12 scene) and S1 also fast forward Arc 3, skipping a lot of things and condensed it in 13 episodes was just hell of a choice.

Lowkey, Subaru's speech almost had me in tears. This VA definitely totally dedicated in this series. And having Otto and Reinhard at the end was such a good finish. Can't wait for the next episode!

Small detail that wasn’t included in the video yall may have missed, when Subaru addressed AL explaining his decision he described it as “when a kid runs out into the street on a red light, and you leap out into the road to save him” or something to that affect, and al understood. Might suggest Al’s from Subarus world as well

If you look closely, you can see Al's eyes (You both noticed) and if you increase the brightness they look awfully familiar 👀 this was surprisingly NOT in the novels and is a completely anime original moment. I wonder what White Fox is doing here given that we've yet to see Al's face 🧐

@kamikaze.33 His eyes look just like Subaru's and in the current novel, Ai's identity and what he really is has become a huge part of the plot as (Spoiler alert) he's trapped Subaru in his own Gojo like barrier and is currently the main antagonist of arc 9. He's also got a very strange connection to Echidna. So to say we're just overthinking this is nonsense, especially when the whole is Al Subaru theory has been a thing for a long time

Al seemed a bit sus this episode, more emotionally invested and dodgy at the same time. Like emilia said nothing about Beatrice yet he added on that point himself and so many panels centering on Al again n again.

Plus the scene centering in on his eyes, as if the studio is trying to intrigue us about his identity. Got a really strong off hand feeling that Al is somehow Subaru himself from some failed timeline.

Al is from Japan. This is no spoiler. In the chibi side version re:zero that is re:zero breaktime spin-off series there is an important dialogue between Al and Subaru. It's strange that the creators didn't put this dialogue in the main anime series

You don't have to stress over pronouncing Subaru's name like the car brand. Both are named after Subaru the star cluster, which is called Pleiades in English and appears on Subaru the cars logo.
