Luffy's power is obviously based on early cartoons, like Tom and Jerry, but his actual body is based on one of the first forms of animation called "Rubber Hose" wich is why the devil fruit gives its user "gomu" like body. Have you noticed how luffy doesn't have distinct knees or elbows? That's what ties the rubber body to the insane cartoon abilities. He literally can do whatever the heck he can imagine

Anything can be transformed by Luffy and used as he pleased. In manga the thunder seemed "cartooned" so is easier to understand. BUT watching a real lighting in his hand in the anime is so epic!!!!

I had said something similar on your last video, but it feels more like reality bending rather than turning things into cartoons or rubber. It's like, whatever comes within range of his haki is under his influence, much like Law's operating room technique. Within that zone, Luffy is the master of time, space, and matter, which is an interesting foil for Kaido since he boasts being "the strongest, land, sea, or air". Luffy in Gear 5 naturally trumps all three dimensions of Kaido's presence as a yonko and just a general threat to the balance of the world. Kaido lacks imagination, he can only see things through a very nihilistic perspective, and Luffy's imagination is limitless. Whatever he can imagine, his devil fruit makes possible, even if it defies the natural laws of nature. You can't grab lightning, but since Luffy assumed that's how it worked, that's how it worked. The hint was his line, "I have an idea". It's imagination, that's his ability. "I reject your reality and substitute my own."

"where did that come from". Luffy's awakening can turn anything he touches into rubber including lightning. And while lightning seems to keep its electrical properties even when made tangible by Luffy's fruit, Luffy is still immune to it anyway so he isn't hurt by grabbing it.

Zoro's mother was called terra, which means earth, therefore he is the son of the earth. Sanji's mother is called Sora, which translated from Japanese is sky, so Sanji is the son of heaven and finally Jinbei. We all know is the son of the sea. This is getting fun!!!!❤

Kaido turned into rubber is not the first time we see.... eps 271 - Blueno turned Luffy into a door eps 309 - Shu turned Zoro into a rust Luffy grabs the lightning based on Luffy's imagination.... eps 038 - Luffy saw the windmill toy on Genzo's hat and he immediately used it as his new move and now Luffy can turn the environment into rubber, this will be even more interesting.

Even with red hawk At first ut seemed confusing on how he was using it but now upon knowing his power u can tell red hawk was made cuz after Aces death luffy just made the move in rememberence of ace even with bounce man and snake man and gear 2 and gear 3 He wanted to expand his bones and it happened, he wanted to increase his blood flow and it happened, he wanted to expand his muscles and it happened His imaginations the limit

Raizo actually ate the scroll scroll fruit which is why he can store things within them! It is a pretty forgetable power though until it shows up haha. I found it also really interesting that Raizo, Oven and Aokiji are the only 3 people who's devil fruit power can affect sea water directly, that we've seen. Aokiji can freeze it, Oven can boil it and Raizo can store it. Not sure if it means something but I thought that was pretty awesome!

Luffy has toon force, his fruit is only limited to his imagination. But currently he still believes he has eaten the Gum Gum Fruit, so everything coming to his mind is based on that and thus all of it is rubber based. But as we know his Fruit is actually Zoan type and not Paramecia. Zoan Awakening do not have affects on environment and is purely a physical strength buff. And we've seen paramecia awakenings only affect environment but not other peoples bodies. So luffy is showing properties of being zoan, paramecia and then something beyond either. Also other things you have mentioned like the eyes popping out heads and his face appearing on Kaido. But it should also be noted that in 1072 Luffy ran on air, which has nothing to do with either awakening and defies physics, because Luffy doesn't know skywalk and that is not how skywalk works in any other point in the series that we have seen. Also if you look and watch all this carefully, Kaidos attacks are having little to no affect on luffy even when coating his attacks with conquerors haki, this also defies what we know about haki and its affects on DF users.

the translation was just wrong the anime actually had the right translation its not reality banding it basically means his rubber powers have no limits that's why he can rubberize everything including lighting and he can make himself as big as a giant dragon its similar to other awakenings but with less limits that the others only laws awakening is as op as luffy from what we have seen but law lacks in haki

Luffy's devil fruit allows him to fight in a way he wants. Up until now, he could only affect his own body. But with Gear 5, he can control things around him as well. So if he wants to fight with a bolt of lightning, hes already basically rubber, so grabbing it wont hurt him and once he grabs it, its his until he lets go of it again.
