For more information, in around early 1940, 21-24 VOMAG 7 (aka 660) buses were manufactured with a flak 18 8.8cm cannon some configured the flak 36 multi-piece barrel. The vehicles first saw service in 1941 in the city of Dresden till 1945 in Budapest, Romania. Ammo consisted of 72 rounds in containers with 18 rounds each, the total weight of the vehicle was around 25 tons.

I love the 8.8 Flak but you need to be in a hidden area high up. The scope is great and like you said, its great on long range but once they know where you are. You can guarantee a plane is sure to follow. When you can hide it great but if you cant then its horrible. I have mixed emotions but I always have it ready if the right map shows up. Odd lastly I want to say thank you. Ive been trying to be a better dogfighter and your starting to help me achieve that so thanks bro..

The flak 88 is insane fun to use. It’s one of those bad vehicles that’s just stupid fun to dome somebody through the upper glacis with. It’s actually amazing with the overpressure changes because you can time HE shells over people hiding around corners and behind cover. I’ve been accused of hacking so many times by time shelling people in the roof it’s not even funny.

I love facing the flak bus in my churchill 7, even though its one of the few things that could kill me, because 152mm of armour means that you can play very relaxed, so i just load one of my 4 HE shells, quickly angle against something infront of me, it fires, i turn back to the flak bus trying to make me miss something critical and recite my favourite sentence, "haha HE go bonk"

In a hull down position that Flak bus can do damage. It is fine as a MGS in overwatch or direct fire missions. Particularly because of the lethality of the gun beyond stand-off distance. From covered positions it would be utterly lethal.

I dominate with the flakbus. I go to places where no one expects this big bastard to be. I get 5 to 6 kills in a good game, and in a bad game I have at least 2. So it is a monster of a vehicle. Plus killing the airplanes with this is a satisfaction that you dont get from other tanks.

Playing this thing is more about map and positioning than anything else. In areas where enemy crosses at medium to long range, it's absolutely unmatched until ~BR 7 when you get decent auto cannons. Reload and pen is just untouchable, with chonky filler so any pen is a kill. Other places it's great are maps with berms that normal tanks can't fire over. Sweden is great for that. Also reverse is very fast so you can pop out, fire and go back in. Best on an angle then you expose less/stick out further.
