NO SPOILERS but if you think part one was crazy, the later books get absolutely batshit insane. I really hope they get to do the 4th book at least because that one is a good conclusion to the main narrative and it gets a little too weird and probably unfilmable after that. Thankfully books 1 - 4 all have endings which I think are satisfying enough that you could leave it there and still have a relatively complete story. I believe Denis has said he intends to do Dune Messiah - the second book - to complete his trilogy, but I have no doubt that if these do well they'll do more. We're already getting a prequel series called Dune: Sisterhood which takes place 10,000 years prior to the events of the movie, and will establish the origin of the Bene Gesserit and a lot of the other factions and world building in Dune.
@antoniobennett9167 Жыл бұрын
I think Heretics and Chapterhouse are fairly "filmable" at least compared to what comes before them. It is God Emperor that I think is the highest level of difficulty. I think you can do it but it will require a little creativity and taking some liberties when you already have fairly dense material to get through. Using the mental safaris as set pieces that tie to the drama of the moment is my suggestion to have pacing and to show rather than tell what is being contemplated.

Part 1 and 2 cover just the first book, if they do a 'part 3' the would be the second book which I believe takes place 10 years after the events of the first and really it would be better to do the second and third books together because its really one story stretch out over two books. Denis's already said he wants to do the second book but that it would be in a few years because like I said it takes place ten years latter so he wants to wait for the main actors to age closer to the point.
