Driving is one thing that makes me relax. And i am very anxious person.

Exactly that! That attitude of: no matter what I do I"m gonna feel this way... (fill in 🙂) so at least I'm gonna go with my day and live my life as best as I can, was a break point in my agoraphobia and since then I'm making progress every day. I'm glad your girlfriend is o.k and back to work. You are doing great, Billy and keep this momentum, build on this confidence or as dr Weekes said: You'll see glimpses... of yourself, your old self and your life before all this started. We can do this, my friend 🙂❤️!

This is my major obstacle. I cannot drive too far without a panic attack. It is horrible. I feel like I cant breathe, throat tightens, hands sweaty. Even just driving around the corner is hard some days I'm fine with medication but its very debilitating. Lyft drains my pockets and I have 3 kids that have school sometimes football practice. Thanks for bringing awareness

I’ve actually been feeling motion sick when driving and being a passenger, my husband and I are going on vacation next week and it’s an 8 hour drive 👎 I’m a basket case right now because I don’t want to ruin our trip over me freaking out!!

I am so anxious when driving that I haven't touched a wheel in more than 10 years since I suffered a panic attack on a busy motorway at rush hour. I thought I was literally going to die that day. Worse, I wasn't even alone in the car.

It is certainly a difficult experience that no one would like to go through, I can empathize with you

I don't have much anxiety about driving. I passed the knowledge and vision tests at the DMV in late August of 2020. I enjoy driving. I reside in New Jersey. I am from New York City. I hope to have my first used vehicle by June 2022. The pandemic is going on. I want my license badly. I have my road test in mid-March of this month. I have a driving lesson today at 4 pm. Anxiety is not severe though. I push myself pass the anxiety.

Yes, your skin is looking better : ) I've never learned to drive so can't really relate. My number one hobby was horse riding and jumping but I gave up at 21. My number two hobby was swimming which I gave up at 16. Just wondering if you had any hobbies that you had to give up due to anxiety?

I don’t drive alone, and I avoid stop lights because I don’t like to feel “trapped” it makes me freak out, how do I cope Billy?
@anxietyunited3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom, good question. When I used to struggle with stop lights and traffic, I would ask myself whats the difference between sitting in traffic or at the lights, compared to sitting on the driveway at home with the engine running. It's still me sitting in the car, I'm exactly the same person doing exactly the same thing. Then I'd realise that it was only the thought of feeling trapped that was making me anxious. In which case, I could challenge that thought and see it for what it really was.

I had to laugh the way you put it about having gained weight. It just tickles me every time someone says that they put weight on with this lock down. I have too, normally 9 n half stone now nearly 11. Partner hasn't, and I know he dosnt like any weight on me, so thats pissing me off otherwise I find it darn funny. The driving I get very uptight if anyone asks me to do a driving errand I assume it will involve motorway/merging, or going out of the area. I don't like the fact that other people might get cross with me on the road and leave me wishing id stayed in.

Anybody get awful head sensations where you can t even think right?
@user-us7vw3yq8p3 жыл бұрын
I've not thought so straight since breakdown five years ago. People were talking too fast for me to follow, everything too bright for my eyes etc. You mean that?
@randynavarro61013 жыл бұрын
@@user-us7vw3yq8p yeah sometimes it feels like too much going on to follow. And just makes your brain feel like it doesn’t operate the same as before. But I know it will pass! And all will be better than normal.
