After a lot of research, I settled on the E5XT as monitors for my home. I make my own music and wanted to have a speaker option since I usually work on headphones (I know I know, that's why I bought some speakers!). But I also wanted to be able to enjoy listening to music (so, not the Yamahas then). The E5XTs have absolutely blown me away. Incredible sound, remarkable imaging, ridiculous price compared to the competition. Could not be happier with them and I would recommend to anyone looking to monitor in a small room.

@@StudiosparesTV All sorts! Ove the past couple of years I've been focusing on orchestral/film score type pieces, but I've made a fair few "electronic" tracks as well. Hard to pin those ones down to a specific genre - film score would definitely describe me at the moment though! Looking forward to exploring mixing on the Eris' this summer :)

B.Allan is a decent guy...he does'nt blow his own trumpet...if he talks about SEALS he talks about his experiences working in a team...i have watched him many times,his channel is very profesionnal & he has skills...other SEALS as you say write books to make money & do after dinner speeches for money....good luck to him i say....he comes across as a decent guy...

According to PreSonus's website its ok to have them ether horizontal or vertical! "Some monitors, like the PreSonus Eris E5, E44, and E66, can be placed horizontally or vertically."

I don't know. Im using them in my home studio, but in my headphones, the sound is so much richer, and I don't have to raise my lows, but as soon as I switch over to my Pre-sonis 3.5's the sound is far more tinny and lows are far less. I have to go into my daw to increase my lows on the channels needed, to get a descent sound. These are great! And sound great, but maybe im doing something wrong? Maybe I need a monitor with greater bass response. I want to make sure my mix will sound good on other media players, not just my system. Im using logic pro, scarlett 2i2, dbx 286s, newest mac, pre-sonis 3.5's. I just have to work hard to get the balance needed, on playback. am I doing something wrong?

How big/small is the room? Are 3.5’s correct for your room size? Is your room acoustically treated? Are your monitors placed in the correct position? There are a lot of influences.

@@TheArpage 10X12 room. Acoustically treated. Monitors are placed ear level, in a triangle. Proof of that is, if you can see the sides of the monitors, its not right. They just dont produce the type of bass I get in my headphones. I ordered another set of krk 5's. Those have always been my goto monitors. I sold them a while back, and Im paying for it now. :)

dude, the 3.5 low freq response is 80hz (kickdrums lower part and a good chunk of the meat of bass guitar are located in the 35-80range), those are meant to be used together with a subwoofer, what did you expect :D I also have headphones, that go down to 20hz in the low end, might be simillar to you and the reason why everything doesnt seam as rich to you on speakers, is purelly because the small 3.5 cant physically reproduce those lower frequencies. The only monitors in this range that can really go without a subwoofer are the 8xt or stuido 8
