Absolutely correct, only saying ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT is not enough, it has to be practically deployed when ever such situations arises.

Our policy makers should trust Indigenous systems and give opportunity to Tata and Mahendra. Even L&T and Bharat Forge are making wheeled variants. And our Tata Kestrel costs around 21-22 cr per vehicle. But why to buy US stryker if Indigenous options are readily available 🤦🏽😭😭

Armed forces should not be given freedom to select the weapons as they take decades to test and decide the same. Government should take the decision which is best.
@ranabirsarkar67505 ай бұрын
The process of indigenous development of various weapons system should be given top priority. The Indian firms in collaboration with DRDO are quite capable of manufacturing a vehicle like Stryker. What India should ask from USA is transfer of critical technology for development of engine for our AMCA programme.
@le_ecrivaine5 ай бұрын
Two points: ➀ the Stryker variant being considered is the air defence variant, which isn't being made locally - not the 𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘪 APC ➁ if the Indian Army opts for the Stryker, it will be built jointly. So, Mahindra Defence, Tatas or Bharat Forge will be involved.

I failed to understand one thing, why Indian arms manufacturers thinks that their products are inferior to American products???
@Kem____paalty165 ай бұрын
They don't think it's the lobbying men in uniform not all but certain who does that and can't call them anything bcoz they earned the uniform. Tell me is mahindra ipmv inferior to styker. Styker is hated by even american troops. It seems very simple these days that, earlier russia had deep presence in MOD and now its america. And MoD is the one to ruin both defense psu and private players. One day they suddenly wake up ask for tank which can fly

Weapons and platforms like these for which we have indigenous alternatives should be listed in the negative import list.

🤬👎 Prioritising imported Foreign Product purchases which are indigenously available is an extremely disappointing depressing & unacceptable because it'll definitely become a major responsible factor behind losing interest in defence products development by Indian private defence manufacturing companies.

India doesn't need striker,we have very good armoured vehicles like tata kestral & mahindra mwap,besides our armoured vehicles were performing really good in combat zone in Kashmir where pakisthani terrorists are attacking frequently right now,it's not our gvt ,importing foreign weapons unnecessarily is becoming a irresistible obsession for our armed forces & air force officials,our Indian navy had supported mostly atmanirbhar bharat just like our gvt

I think its no harm to buy the strykers as we need more than 2000 armoured vehicles to replace the ageing BMPs and we are buying just 300- 350. So the rest can be fulfilled by tata kestrel, Mahindra CBRN etc.

We need both, aatma nirbhar Bharat and collaboration with multiple partners. If you only give orders to domestic companies, they'll be lazy to give you more bang for buck and if they feel there's still companies who'll give them good competition, they'll up their game to do the better. At the end of the day it's army who'll get best equipments and govt will spend less in the long run. Before it was Soviet union and Russia, now it's a USA and France. It's no shame that we want the best machines for our Army. If our domestic companies give the same quality products at leas cost, we'll surely gonna buy it. Of not then we need to buy something else from outside. It's a clever move. Govt is trying their best to get the tot and by collaboration it'll happen. Army will get the experience of foreign weapons and they can even induct similar tech for next genIndian made weapons. Aatmanirbhar Bharat is not a lne day dream. It'll take 10-15 years minimum. After 2035-2040 we Will see the results. Till then just grow your money. Work hard and wish for the best 😅

A few Stryker platforms would not be a bad idea --- More to understand is capabilities and understand the development challenges. Buy atleast a brigade worth for the Northern Sector !!!
@anuragsood79975 ай бұрын
It makes no sense. Having a few will require us to also keep maintenance and overhaul arrangements which will increase the logistics cost. The bottom line is that the USA is not a reliable defence partner.. India needs to be self reliant and that doesn't happen immediately.. our domestic manufacturers need to have small victories (via domestic sales) if we were to EVER put out our defence products in the international market. Stryker maybe a top-of-the-shelf product, but India needs numbers to counter China just as it needs quality.. only way forward is indigenous way
