As Indonesian I can say your Indonesian language is perfect. No bule accent. Even youtuber like Sacha Stevenson who lived more than 14 years in Indonesia still has her accent. And for people who said he's not pure white. So what??? Are you gonna say it is not difficult because he's mixed race? I knew some mixed race who couldn't speak two language fluently.
@adamccl70054 жыл бұрын
I am a mixed race from Northern Malaysia that shares the Andaman "triangular cultural similarities" with Northern Sumatra (especially Medan-Toba) as well as Southern Thailand (Satun-Songkhla-Ranong-Krabi-Phuket). So yes, in many terms everybody tries to speak Hokkien and even Bahasa, we are hoping we can introduce Southern Siamese culture to Medan being our Sister-City of George Town, Penang. My verdict - Bahasa Indonesia: Very smooth. Mandarin Chinese: Thick accent, however impressively standard (non-dialectic borrowing) Thai: "เก่งมาก ๆ!" (Very good!)

@audinochen15578 жыл бұрын
This is really impressive, I am Chinese Indonesian myself and speak Mandarin and Indonesian both. Your Indonesian sounds perfect, like a native speaker, if I talk to you on the phone I would not realize that you're not an Asian dude. Your Mandarin sounds fantastic as well, your accent is better than mine. I don't speak Thai but I am sure that your Thai is like a native speaker. Now this is more impressive that most "polyglots" out there, being able to speak several languages from different language families perfectly. Good job man!

Even if his accent not perfect (who really cares anyway since even Indonesians and mainland Chinese have different accents, depending on their dialects), being able to speak 20 languages just mindblowing. I agree his Indonesian, Mandarin and English speaking ability is very good.

I really admire Stuart. He speaks many languages but many of them are from different families! Thai, Indonesian, English, Chinese... every language is far different from the other. Not like many polyglots who speak English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese... which are actually the same language with common vocabulary and easy to learn if u already know other from the list.
@RealRina906 жыл бұрын
no actually not all , Thai is a mix of Chinese(mandarin+cantonese)/Hindi&Vietnamese (when it comes to pronouncuation) , there are many words who are the same but mean something different in thai thats all that is different but other then that they do have similarities.

The Thai guy's response and reaction at 3:23 is priceless, hand motions in response to an impressive parroting of his language. This is why it becomes unnecessary to be able to speak the vendor's language fluently if the form of contact is merely in the form of mundane street commerce. Fluency would only probably come in very handy if you were like, let's say, looking for a rare, unreleased version of a song by The Beatles called "Hey Jude" in the form and shape of a cassette recording, preferably not a copy of a copy of a copy or "nth" generation of a copy, but a first generation copy coming from England in the year 1969 (if that would even exist in Patpong or Pratunam). Just saying : ))
