And the thing about Stu is that he always comes out of nowhere unexpectedly he’s on top and he’s always on point with his killed and I think the reason why we want him to come back is because he’s so over-the-top that he could be a very great mastermind

And what could make him a great leader is his blend in and deceive about his true nature what makes him a great killer is that he manipulates and torment his own victims and that could make him great as a killer for going after Sidney

If they don’t bring him back alive then I can see the mastermind being a Stu fan who has a shrine dedicated to him as they feel his ‘work’ is under appreciated.

I feel this would be done better for a Roman story rather than Stu. The man acted alone and is the most underrated movie. Also tied with Sidney’s bloodline.

I'm going with "Never" we don't know yet how far ahead the time jump will be in Scream 7. Even if its set in 2026 that's 30 years after the original and too wide of a time gap. To possibly explain how Stu could still be alive. Nevermind the fact that Stu's death was overkill. Wes Craven, Kevin Williamson, and Matthew Lillard have all said in the past that Stu is dead.

here is what I think is going to happen with Stu This is just a theory with mine I think the whole point with him as a killer is that he is harsh and unmerciful and cruel and compassionless and He’s not doing this for fun. He is just unsympathetic and that’s why he does what he does but also because he is outrageous sees himself as some type of angel of mercy

Imagine how much of a red herring Stu would be only for someone else to be the killer. It may be disappointing to the fans who would want Stu to return as the killer but a redemption arc would be nice. Or maybe you could have a betrayal where Stu's partner shoots Stu as they want the spotlight now. But Stu manages to make a save for Sidney and her daughters in an Anti-Hero moment.

Any fan that is actually routing for him to return is blind to how next to impossible it would be to write it. If Stu was alive this whole time... 1. How could nobody know it? 2. How did he survive? 3. If he survived and was arrested, why doesn't Kirby know that? 4. If he survived and escaped, how did the dozens of cops, Medics, forensics, coroners, reports and the survivors themselves not notice this? 5. If he somehow avoided all of the above, where the hell has he been for nearly 30 years? All of that is to not even mention how him surviving Scream would diminish Sids triumph. He's an awesome Ghostface and loved character for a reason, but he NEEDS to stay dead. You can not write him back into the franchise without creating serious problems

redemption arc is dumb. Stu was cool because he did it for the lulz, not going to watch character assassination.

please never- not to hate on those that want him back but it would just ruin the movies- as seen with part 6, which was written by fans of the original movies, sometimes incorporating fandom wishes into an already going narrative can ruin it. as much as i loved jill as a character and even though she was initially set to return, i would never want her to come back. as with Stu, we were shown a definitive death. going back to part 6, having stu return we be as ridiculous and stupid as having quinn coming back at the end and revealing she never died. all everyone did was moan about how unrealistic and uncreative that decision was and itd be the exact same thing if they brought back stu. to mention another main gripe about part 6, how everyone complained about neither gail nor kirby having the resources to know that bailey was ritchie's dad and that it was so far fetched and it would be the exact same thing with stu- you're telling me after almost 30 years that no one knew he was still alive, in jail, etc? i get its a popular notion but it would be jumping the shark to the extreme and overall a horrible idea because as you yourself so often complain about, it wouldn't be bringing anything new to the table but simply rehashing the past and clinging to it like it has no idea where to go from there.

Completely agree with this. I’ve heard some wacky theories lately on what the writers may decide to do next or what the fans want, and most of what I heard would ruin the movies before. They need to focus on the future with this franchise not let it stay in the past, there’s a way to incorporate the past, like Scream 5 did with the carpenter sisters, while still focusing on the future of the franchise. I didn’t like the 6th movie because they turned ghost faces into killing machines and made it seem so unrealistic. at times I felt like I was watching an action movie, one of the fun things about scream is it’s unpredictable at times because the killer is just another clumsy human which in a strange way makes it more scary because it makes it more realistic, even though scream can be cheesy and funny at times with its dialogue, it shouldn’t turn into complete nonsense with dead villains or characters coming back, unrealistic action sequences, when there’s no finality to anything in a movie franchise it loses its stability and any seriousness it had to it is gone. Scream is corny at times but it’s also got a good foundation to it, but doing what I see a lot of these fans want, would destroy that. Scream is what it is, because it knows how to be slapstick at the right times and serious at the right times. But if it becomes too much of the other it loses its credibility.

I agree I like the redemption arc. Also it is easy to explain his absence if they go this way as he has been in hiding. Maybe the reason he reappears is to protect Sydney's daughters as it is the only way he can prove he has changed and earn a little redemption. Like you said it adds a good bit more weight to why to call her daughter Tatum. He would have to die though but like Roman he could go out holding Sydney's hand as he has done some good in her eyes at the end.

Stu’s nephew being killed in Scream 5 would be something interesting to play with.. A Stu centered story is one thing.. but bringing Stu back is as unnecessary as bringing the the emperor back in Star Wars .. it’s lazy writing

What? He had a 300 pound television crush him, how would he still be alive?….that would be ridiculous. I liked the character but at the same time if the writers decide one of them is dead, they need to leave it be unless they want this franchise to turn into complete nonsense.
