Went to church for my first time yesterday. I find it hard to open myself to other Christians as I've been mocked and excluded (most of it by my own will) from people. I got into this circle of loneliness just me and God. But realizing there's some good christians out there has made me think of a lot... God bless you, and I hope you find solace like I did yesterday!

Join a ministry in the church you attend. Join the Bible study and Church school, become active and reach out. You will not be lonely. That’s exactly why I tell people it’s such a cop out excuse to not believe in Christ because of people… the Bible explicitly and clearly keeps on telling us in multiple ways that we, as humans, all stink. We suck, we sin, we betray. Never trust anyone or yourself fully because we always mess up one way or another. The guy was cornered in the debate, had nothing else to say, and had to result in the ole “well what about crusades and the conquistadors?!?”. By that logic, I can point to Stalin murdering and enslaving millions and say “this is why I hate atheists”. Doesn’t that sound absurd?? When people categorize Christian’s off of those events, it isn’t a good argument because in that case, you’re no worse than the racists who say “all whites are like this” and “all blacks do this”. 13:24 When people ask if God died, they often think death means ceasing to exist. But biblically, death is the separation of the spirit from the body-not the end of consciousness (Luke 23:46, John 19:30). When Jesus died, His body died, but He remained alive as God and even raised Himself (John 2:19-22). Death does not end existence; even the rich man and Lazarus were conscious after death (Luke 16:19-31). Forget about Ecclesiastes 9:5, that reflects human perspective, not doctrine. Jesus’ divinity was never compromised.

I disagree with Stuart on the divine nature dying. Jesus’ human nature died on the cross, not the divine. His spirit was separated from his body for three days and death is known as separation from body and spirit. For reference: Luke 8:55
@Trexbor172 күн бұрын
I respectfully disagree with this way of thinking, because it would mean that the only thing human about us is the body. So once our spirit is separated from our body, the only conclusion we can get following this logic is that we're divine. We're also god and human, and obviously that's not the case. Even in spirit we're still human.
@christianjacobs15352 күн бұрын
@ I understand your point. But him dying according to the human nature is the consensus Christian belief. Read Luke 8 for reference of separation of body and spirit. The second person in the Trinity (God) died in the flesh, the spirit did not die. And our spirit is not eternal like Gods.
@Trexbor172 күн бұрын
@christianjacobs1535 Ecclesiastes 12:7 Says "the spirit shall return unto God who gave it" And in Ecclesiates 3 it mentions that both humans and animals have spirit. Our spirit is eternal, it does not die, because it is not a part of who we are wholly, rather it is life, breath. Jesus limited himself, became like us, so he too had body, soul and spirit. His body physically dies, his soul, along with his spirit after it leaves him, descends to hades to take the keys of hades and death, and his spirit left. John 19:30 says he "gave up his spirit". Gave up, as in he didn't have the spirit anymore, it went back to God the father. Then in 1 Peter 3 it says:" For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits- to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built." He was made alive again, his spirit given back, whilst in Hades, proclaiming to those imprisoned spirits before resurrecting.

The lies in this video are unbelievable. God literally commands Moses to source slaves from the heathens surrounding Israel. It's in Deuteronomy and Leviticus. Slaves in the Roman Empire were sometimes servants, lawyers and doctors, but often as not they were chattel slaves. It is ahistorical to claim otherwise. And a note on the abolitionists of the 1800's. In a society that is 100% Christian (where atheism is often illegal, or at least a social taboo) of course abolitionists will be Christians. But so will all the proponents of slavery. Because everyone is Christian. It means nothing. Both groups used the Bible to justify their positions. If you claim that the proponents of slavery weren't TRUE Christians because they had slaves then I'm sorry but when you read the writings of the people from the time they would disagree with you.

Many Jesuits in Amarican Brasil saw some nobles making natives slaves some even converted to christinanism, the jesuits pleeded, thoses nobles to not do that, some listened others didnt what happeened then Jesuits wrote, notes to the Pope, and the Pope theatened them with excomungation, in Brasil as many who dont know are mixed people, because throught christianity in comon many Africans natives and europeans married and made families since the start and beyond, and there is how most Brasilians and portuguese arent raccists just some lesser factions mutch less suport but does alot harm.

Leviticus 25:44-46 “Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly.
