Jesus Christ commands us "do NOT worry". We can do that because we know ALL things work out for GOOD, for those who love GOD (Romans 8:28). I find that when I keep this in mind, read God's word, and focus MY expectations on HIS promises instead of my desires, and when I fully trust in Him to deliver on His word, all my fears, anxiety, depression, begins to melt away. I'll be praying for you. Read God's word, pray to God very often, and trust that He knows what is best for us and always delivers. He instructs us to ask for what we really want, but in the end, know that He gives us what we need. Make sense?

I enjoyed the conversation between Cliffe and the student in the orange shirt. What came to mind was an answer from Dr. John Lennox who used an analogy of putting a kettle on the stove and asking "why is the water boiling?" Obviously, we can give a precise scientific answer about heat and molecules, expansion and vapor, etc. But what Lennox offers (if I remember correctly) the simple answer "because I want a cup of tea" to show that there are metaphysical meanings and causes to reality that a naturalist or materialistic worldview do not explain, despite both being valid explanations, in this case, for why the water is boiling. So, in context, love and happiness can be measured by a chemical reaction or hormone level, but that measure is an observation after the fact and fails to truly explain what love or happiness is, what causes it, or why it is valuable. That's my two cents, any way. Edit: grammar

I fell back into temptation and sin recently. I feel shame and regret and question myself as being genuine because every time I sin I think of Jesus first and still more times than I like to admit I do it. I try to live better daily and carry myself in a way that's righteous and hopefully makes God proud but, whenever I'm alone I backslide. I think there's some scripture that says that's who you truly are when you're alone with yourself. Hello everyone, Correct me if I am wrong, but I was just thinking that Jesus Christ salvation is way more painful that we expect it, because if he said that hell is the most painful to experience in this reality, then his death on the cross is way more than we think. As he did not just experience one of, if not the most painful way to die on this planet, as a person with a body, but also experience the most painful ways to exist in this universe by going to hell, and not only that, He also preached the good news to those there while going through it. A man once said, that although it is impossible, because the abilities of mankind are limited, to fully comprehend eternal, limitless GOD, but we can most definitely apprehend the belief that HE exists. GOD created us for HIS glory, and the pinnacle of that glorification would be freely and willingly loving HIM. What measure of love matters, except it be free? We are not robots, or puppets; those of us who know and believe in THE CREATOR GOD, love HIM freely, without coercion, but we arrive there by realizing it is HE who saves us from the death we deserve. We are totally depraved, and it is HE who draws us nearer to HIM, for we, HIS sheep, hear HIS voice and obey. Again, it’s something I cannot fully understand, yet I am compelled to believe, beyond my limitations to understand!
@albieryvargas2640Ай бұрын
If I had to choose, I lean toward the perspective that emphasizes the compatibility of free will with God’s omniscience by viewing God as outside of time. This position, while it has its challenges, allows for a framework where humans have genuine autonomy in their choices, while God’s knowledge of outcomes doesn’t force those outcomes. The analogy of God as a viewer of a movie who knows the ending, but doesn’t cause the actions within it, resonates with me. It suggests that knowing what someone will choose doesn’t necessarily strip them of the freedom to make that choice. Additionally, the argument that God’s granting of free will includes a self-limitation makes sense-it aligns with the idea that true freedom must carry the risk of both good and bad choices. This view acknowledges the depth of the problem of evil and doesn’t attempt to brush it off with easy answers. It’s a tough balance, and even though there are questions that remain open, this perspective offers a compelling way to consider the coexistence of omniscience, omnipotence, and human freedom.

@@albieryvargas2640 The christian god has shown himself in many places in the bible. He is not watching this universe like a movie, he has interfered with it multiple times. He even gave ultimatum to people. He only does not hijack their minds, though he still can fully control the phenomena around them or talk to them telepathically.
@albieryvargas2640Ай бұрын
@@SadSinner79 You make a great point. The Bible indeed shows God engaging with humanity in powerful ways-guiding, intervening, and even giving ultimatums, which is central to how he relates to people. While God interacts directly with creation and even influences the world around individuals, Christian theology often views these interventions as invitations rather than coercions. For example, God’s miracles or commands create a context where people still have a choice in how they respond, preserving their freedom even in the face of divine influence. So, while God isn’t a passive observer, his actions often open up choices rather than removing them. It’s this dynamic of guidance without coercion that really fascinates me about the idea of free will within Christian thought.
@SadSinner79Ай бұрын
You indeed have very wise answers. I am greatful to be in your company. Based on your ideas, this means that God has been pro-possibility all along, which means that all actions he takes are not for good or bad, they are for the greater free will of mankind. Good may also be interpreted as something being of benefit to you, hence expanding your power, which has the definition of giving more control over something, which means more free will. Bad may be interpreted to be the negative of that less free will. Of course, my opinion on why God is omni-benevolent and yet does not interfere is vastly different from yours. The morality of God transcended metaphysical definitions. God has a different morality, which is incomprehensible due to His omniscience. I can give an example though. Nothing in this world lasts forever, if you do anything, it will end eventually, your legacy will end eventually, you have no purpose, and happiness is a trap where best case, you die before it ends. However, Plato thousands of years ago found a solution to this. Platonic concepts are metaphysical abstracts which makes them unbounded by spacetime. Our metanarrative is one of those. If our life was a book, and it were given a title, that title would change infinitely. Similarly, our metanarrative has segments and combinations that are absolutely infinite. In my opinion, this is my understanding for what God wishes to prosper.

But if you can see the past present and future from the perspective of God, outside the universe. And you already know how a person will react, you could quite easily put things in the path to influence the decisions that person makes. Putting the free will part at risk. I believe the answer here is. If God puts things in the way to tempt you to do deeds unbecoming, they are temptations. Why else would we prey, Lead us not into temptation? We do have our own choice not to follow them. So i have to agree with both parties. And i wish the “student” in this footage finds whatever he needs to answer his question.

Free will absolutely exists...its when God goes inside of time and does things that it becomes blurry. Does anyone have a video of Cliffe answering this as a bit older? Hey just heard about an historic event called "The sun Miracle" Can anyone explain what exactly it is and what is it trying to prove?
@bonnie43ukАй бұрын
there was an event about 100 years ago in Portugal known as the "Miracle of the Sun", not sure if that is what you are referring to my friend.

I agree with Cliff: God is all-knowing but it doesn't mean He will make us do something. He gave us free will. That person doesn't understand such a simple concept. He even brings up the concept of a machine but that is actually a bad analogy because we are not machines. At this point all I can do is laugh. 😂

What changed in the bible and why?
@katiebrandenstein6100Ай бұрын
at the end he admitted that god limits his power to give us free will which if true it means there is a weakness in the deity that can be exploited and humanity would be able to rise up and overthrow the celestial dictatorship. it means god is actually finite. all powerful and limiting power is a contradiction. its one or the other. if an all powerful deity limits its power, then it opens the possibilty for us to destroy him.

I can’t tell if you’re being serious or just following a train of thought to try and let the foolishness of it speak for itself. Girl there are so many ways I could deconstruct that, but I’m gonna go with: God even being _hypothetically_ finite doesn’t negate him being all knowing, thus, infinitely knowledgeable of each of our thoughts, goals, and hearts. So the Lord would *probably* know it was the wrong time to self-reduce in that moment of us becoming powerful enough to challenge Him, EVEN if such a thing were a possibility. 😂 I gave you like, three things in one there. Interesting line of thought you had-that I guess would have come along sooner or later-but not really worth it. We’d be better off as a collective, and even the Lord would be spared of one more sorrow. Not that it’s our job to 🙌 but . . .

The attack of 9/11 is a tricky example given that it was committed by deeply religious people who believed to please God and secure a place in the highest spheres of Jannah by their sacrifice. Such thinking must be more familiar to a Christian than to an atheist, though I realize that it is a different brand of religion in that particular case
@harrambou9468Ай бұрын
Cliffe’s arguing from the _hypothetical_ truth that morality is relative, and trying to demonstrate the logic within it as he best knows how, as opposed to the real truth (at least as he sees it, you might say…) that it’s not all relative.
@erikt1713Ай бұрын
@harrambou9468 It's not all relative. We have a natural sense of morality leading to what the Catholics call "natural law". However, if we are not careful religion can cloud that sense. It happens a lot with Islam these days, but Christianity is not immune.

isn't it amazing how much thought on campus has changed in the past 20 years pertaining to the middle east? and the fact that atheist try so hard to disprove something they don't believe existed.

Christ appeared only to 500 people right? I think its impossible then that hostile people could write about a risen Jesus as they have seen him. I believe Jesus didnt want easy believers since back then. We have more then enough evidence to believe in his very beeing, but not everyone will accept him. Edit: Paul was hostile towards christ at first, so he should count as one hostile acount right?

Also, how does that kid know God doesn't have another universe in which he just created machines to do exactly what He wants? God is outside of space and time so He can make whatever He likes. But in our world, His Word teaches us this reality.

Please do a video on if remarriage is allowed after divorce.
@idallas4964Ай бұрын
A video is not needed. It's clear in Romans 7:3 (KJV) "So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man."

what about Deuteronomy 24, 1-24? Again, @givemeanswers, I’d love a video teaching that puts this topic into perspective. Thank you!
@idallas4964Ай бұрын
@@EasyLiss Another easy answer. The answer is in the bible. Mark 10. Also, Deuteronomy was intended for Israelites|Hebrews though all scripture can be useful. Mark: 10:2-"And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him." 10:3-"And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?" 10:4-"And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away." 10:5-"And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept." 10:6-"But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female." 10:7-"For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;" 10:8-"And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh." 10:9-"What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." Once you are joined in marriage, it is for life.

What about medicine. It taste gross it can smell bad yet you still take it. If all is just chemicals then you would never do anything that would harm you even if it would lead to profit. Ex. working out, fighting for those you love, eating medicine, taking shots, giving blood, ect.

If we don’t have free will we would be prisoners. God want us to love him by choice and not forcefully. That wouldn’t be love is not only limiting himself is about conviction and looking for him in a genuine way

There is no way my Tundra truck can beat a Dodge Challenger off the line when the light goes green. NO WAY! Unless the driver of the Challenger chooses to limit the power available to them. It’s the same concept as God limiting His power.

There’s already been a few atheists that have written about Jesus. The only thing is that they started out atheists and by the end of their book they accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior 😅
@BrandonBriggs-p6jАй бұрын
If God gives us free will, why does he punish us for not following him? If we have free will, we should be able to live good lives without being a slave to God and still go to heaven
@Xaun-dw8edАй бұрын
The question to your point would then be “how can you live a good life without God?”
@SolidPain6624Ай бұрын
On top of the historical evidence and eye witness accounts, our testimonies of how we experience God spiritually and how he changed our mindsets is arguably the most evidence of all. He literally changed my life. He changes peoples lives. What kind of relativist or atheist is gonna forgive and love EVERY SINGLE PERSON? Jesus commanded we love everyone and the “love is love” believers only love those who agree with them, if you don’t, you’re dead to them. Once I followed Christ, I saw women differently… I saw giving differently… and I saw forgiving and love differently. That’s only made by The Lord himself and it wasn’t me that did it was him and I’m glad I allowed him to work within me by committing to believe and put my trust for him.

So, for short term evil, God gave us free will. There will be no free will in heaven. There's no evil nor sin in heaven for eternity.
