The best time to fix an uneven wall is before installing a garden or patio glass doors or windows.
If you cannot fix the framing wood substrate, call a fella like us who understands how to improvise with stucco applications and thrives on it.
We are bullnose-ing a sliding glass door installed wrongly or misaligned in a wall.
This door was inset too far from the exterior wall existing stucco.
I personally love this type of stucco challenge.
It’s what stucco is all about, improvising.
So we built the bottom and bullnosed it to the sliding glass door frame. Easy peasy.
With the accelerated stucco that my son Jason Mixed for me, I can apply about one to four inches to fix this slider that was set a few inches back from the rest of the wall’s surface.
This is not the first time we have had to bullnose the stucco to give the impression it was meant to be inset.
That is the key to stucco, do or apply the stucco so that the average person thinks, “wow,” that looks cool the way you designed that door.
Not the other way around, and say, man, you suck at installing doors.

• Matching Stucco textur... stucco texture fixes the wrong patching window.

Greeting Bieski from Holland, I agree the gypsum plasters seem like whipping cream, I have turned my full hawk upside down a few times to show how well it sticks. Hi Kirk . I enjoyed watching you sculpture the wall . You saved the property owners a lot of money and time. Most people including me would not have seen the bull nose idea. My respect Kirk my dad was in the union as a plasterer and I learned how to do stucco work since I was a teenager it's hard work but it's a beautiful work of art

well, you are handy with your trowel, that`s for sure ! i have been a plasterer for 12 years now and cement based mud is still a bit diffucult to work with.... it doesn`t stick like gypsum plaster for the inside. then again we don`t have much practice over here , most houses are made of brick here in holland, good day to you sir.

Good evening biesk from Holland, no offense taken. That wall was as crooked as a dog’s hind leg. If I were to stucco it true and plumb I would not have gotten paid for my services. I still have yet to watch it. If Jason has not shown the true surface of the wall we will be sure not to make that same mistake again. I simply try and match what is on the original wall. Excellent question Omar, with same-day or back-to-back stucco applications, the scratch marks are unnecessary as the stucco mud is still moist, creating the mechanical bond. However, If we were going to leave this job for a day, then the scratch marks or keys should be embedded in the stucco.
