I tried for ages to recover these from the head, all the injectors came out without the washers. This tip helped me no end so thank you for this video. I opted to replace the new washers with the screwdriver inserting them into the injector hole then wiggled the screwdriver to release them, seem to work & all injectors slide bag in ok. Thanks again.

This has just saved me probably a long time, luckily I have that exact screwdriver! It also helped me clean out the holes by wrapping an old washer in paper towel before putting it on the screwdriver.

Thanks for the video. I have the same Halfords screwdriver set as you and unfortunately because my copper washers were particularly crusty it didn't work. What did work though was a piece of M8 threaded rod screwed into the centre a little. Wanged them out no bother. I actually did a how to video myself showing this method!

God bless you for that , and I am really sorry to bother you but just one question I have e bit of leak fuel injecter tyota avensses d4d 2004 I guess is copper washers or top sel I don't know ,I will find out ,but my question is after a remove and replace those copper washers do I need to re program the injecter or not .I would really appreciate if you could give me any advice thank you very much.

a friend used cooper grease like you and was left with a nasty exhaust leak, i cleaned it all and it was fine after that. My conclusion was to use cooper grease only for what it is intended: threads.

Correct use of copper grease will not cause a leak and you never put copper grease on threads unless you want to torque up the bolts incorrectly.

Hi SiRobb. What torque you screw the injectors back in? Also, in my Volvo V70 2.4 D5 2006 there were no those black dealings and circlips - is that ok?

Would it be unwise to put some grease on the underside of the washer too, to make removal easier next time? This is a good idea but no good for me: I've got a washer of 14mm id so would need a 14.5 mm screwdriver, and I doubt such a beast exists!

Hi mate love your videos I’ve got a leaking rocker gasket and leaking injector just a question when taking the fuel lines off to do the work do I have to prime the fuel system after taking the fuel pipes off and on kind regards Boyd

Thanks for the comment. Yes, once everything is back together you'll need to prime the fuel system which doesn't take long at all. If you have a D5, you just cycle the ignition a few times for about 10 seconds each time before turning over the engine. .

Great instructions but try that with an M9R which has a ton of hard weather between it and the injector bore….. I have a good technique but it is very risky if you are not careful. Also to note most washers burn from the centre out and therefore the hole is usually bigger than 8mm and stuck even too big for the tapered washer pulling tools.

Ou well. Toyota Rav 4 2008. 2.2 Diesel 130 kW. 2 of 4 washers was leaking, but all 4 didn't came out. 3 of them i got out with punching king size Philips screwdriver in and trying to turn them around. One is still in. It is day 2 by the way :D

It's only stuck by carbon so just soak with carb cleaner. I've never taken longer than 30 minutes to remove all washers and I've seen some *very* stuck washers.

Tried soaking with carb cleaner 5 times with no result. Clearance between washer and injector hole is so small, that after removing washer you Can see aluminium on it sides. It is just physically stuck.

They've previously fitted washers with too large a diameter then. There's no need to fit washers with such a small gap to the walls of the injector port so make sure you don't repeat their mistake when fitting new ones.
