@ALIZINNIA unfortunately not. What Lucia actually tried to say with that is, that there are various opportunities to learn German in Germany. Our advice: Ask your university for course offers or check the current program of the Volkshhochschule (VHS), which every bigger German city has. Best from Bonn, Your study-in.de-team

@Ifrahalam Dear Ifrah, you should definetely finish your masters in India first and then apply for your masters because you won't be able to tranfer your grades just like that to a German university and continue your studies. Our database for international programmes shows you a list of all Masters programmes in Engineering. Pay close attention to the detailed description to find out what's required: daad.de / idp

+Chandan Kumar Mandal Hello Kumar, there are also many journalism and media studies programs in Germany taught in German, and it's not too hard to learn, you can pick up the language quickly because the German government helps you with free courses. I knew a couple Indian students who did this successfully, both of them right now in south Germany and both have learned German well.

Beste Grüße, Dein study-in.de-team

I'm considering studying in Germany for a semester or so, although it is a bit of a pipe dream right now. However, my subject is Illustration. Can you study art abroad in Germany? If so, does it have to be Illustration, or can it be any of the communicative arts? Also, one of my dreams is to become fluent in German (my dad's German, hence my name, but I'm a novice). How would you immerse yourself amongst other students, in order to learn the language, but still avoid making a fool of yourself? There are a lot of stereotypes about Americans that lead people to assume things about me, and I want to avoid that the best I can (I'm studying in Scotland right now).
@derbaron2293
@derbaron2293 9 жыл бұрын
Kirsten Großmann your subject shouldn't be a problem, by what i found out, communicative arts translates to kommunikationsdesign, which can by studied at a couple of universities in germany. the majority of us germans realize that our language is tough to learn and we are very forgiving when it comes to grammar, so don't be afraid to "make a fool of yourself" i still recommend to attend a german course since most germans, especially at university, are able to communicate in english on a decent level. if you don't speak german at all, they will just talk in english to you (same thing happened to me in italy)

+miocinghiale22 While there are some private schools in Germany that do this (and they're still relatively low cost), your best option is probably just to go to Germany and do a one-year intensiv language course, these are very common and practically free, and your German will get good enough so that you can take the courses in German, which is the best option. Good luck.

@Tchaikovsky09 You would probably get along with a mixtur of the two languages in daily life and I don't think that many people would mind, but still I would advise you to possibly try to say everything in German - in the run long, it's the easier way to the mastering of a language. Also, you would risk that many people answer in English which wouldn't really be helpful to you.

3:16 A couple of coins gets you a big pretzel over there? Over here, in America, you can't get anything for a couple of coins, it takes about 1 pound in weight of nickels (5 cents) to have enough to buy anything! I'm not even going to mention how many pounds of pennies it takes to buy something. lol 40 years ago you could get a huge Hershey chocolate bar for a nickel, but now you have to pay about 50 nickels to get a chocolate bar that is less than half the size they used to be.

+Marc Ramroop Hi Marc, passing the language test successfully means, you should be able to attend German taught classes. Of course there are always individual criteria that will make it easier or more difficult to follow the class, like how is the pronounciation of the professor and so on. We recommend asking friends for their experience :-) Best wishes, your Study in Germany Team

Do you know how long an average person takes to learn German? I recently started learning about a month ago

+Marc Ramroop I did study in Germany and still live here. If you pass the test you can speak and understand basic German, not very well though, basically the level you learn in schools in other European countries like Netherlands, UK, France or so if you take German class in highschool. But you will learn German rather fast if you are in the country. Go out, read German books/magazines/news, watch movies in German, date German girls, do sports (football, climbing halls,...). Avoid hanging out with other foreign students only to be forced to speak and understand German, get German friends. I tried hard to learn German as fast as possible, since it sucks living in a country whose language one doesn't speak. Depending on the subject you will figure out whats going on in the class. Like math or physics or so is no problem to understand what's going on, but it really depends on the subject, like CAD design was difficult for me, since they used Siemens NX software which was only available in German language, so complex software in German only was rather hard in the beginning.

you can get around in germany using english just fine unless you find yourself in a small village, but even then you might be lucky.

Hi, I want to know about the differences between an FH and normal universitat in Germany, specifically about the quality of education, job demand, degree recognition. I am planning to study Engineering for my bachelors degree and I want to know what is the best option for me if I want to work in Germany. It would also tell me about the options available to study the language because I am planning to join a course that is taught in German language, it would be good if you could specifically mention some of them.I already have a pretty good knowledge of German. ( A2 level) There are several videos uploaded on this topic but they are completely in German, it would be helpful if you could tell a bit about it. I watched a lot of the videos of Study in Germany and they are very helpful. Thanks
