@ALIZINNIA unfortunately not. What Lucia actually tried to say with that is, that there are various opportunities to learn German in Germany. Our advice: Ask your university for course offers or check the current program of the Volkshhochschule (VHS), which every bigger German city has. Best from Bonn, Your study-in.de-team

Our database for international programmes shows you a list of all Masters programmes in Engineering. Pay close attention to the detailed description to find out what's required: daad.de / idp

+Slade Eeyore It's not that hard, I know plenty of my own students (Americans) who've done it and all have done reasonably well, just a matter of being prepared and learning the language (Germany helps you with that). Also lots of other countries have free schooling, France, Scandinavia, Italy and Spain it's cheap, plus in South America most places.

I'm considering studying in Germany for a semester or so, although it is a bit of a pipe dream right now. However, my subject is Illustration. Can you study art abroad in Germany? If so, does it have to be Illustration, or can it be any of the communicative arts? Also, one of my dreams is to become fluent in German (my dad's German, hence my name, but I'm a novice). How would you immerse yourself amongst other students, in order to learn the language, but still avoid making a fool of yourself? There are a lot of stereotypes about Americans that lead people to assume things about me, and I want to avoid that the best I can (I'm studying in Scotland right now).
@derbaron2293
@derbaron2293 9 жыл бұрын
Kirsten Großmann your subject shouldn't be a problem, by what i found out, communicative arts translates to kommunikationsdesign, which can by studied at a couple of universities in germany. the majority of us germans realize that our language is tough to learn and we are very forgiving when it comes to grammar, so don't be afraid to "make a fool of yourself" i still recommend to attend a german course since most germans, especially at university, are able to communicate in english on a decent level. if you don't speak german at all, they will just talk in english to you (same thing happened to me in italy)

@Tchaikovsky09 You would probably get along with a mixtur of the two languages in daily life and I don't think that many people would mind, but still I would advise you to possibly try to say everything in German - in the run long, it's the easier way to the mastering of a language. Also, you would risk that many people answer in English which wouldn't really be helpful to you.

Beste Grüße, Dein study-in.de-team

you can get around in germany using english just fine unless you find yourself in a small village, but even then you might be lucky.

3:16 A couple of coins gets you a big pretzel over there? Over here, in America, you can't get anything for a couple of coins, it takes about 1 pound in weight of nickels (5 cents) to have enough to buy anything! I'm not even going to mention how many pounds of pennies it takes to buy something. lol 40 years ago you could get a huge Hershey chocolate bar for a nickel, but now you have to pay about 50 nickels to get a chocolate bar that is less than half the size they used to be.

+miocinghiale22 While there are some private schools in Germany that do this (and they're still relatively low cost), your best option is probably just to go to Germany and do a one-year intensiv language course, these are very common and practically free, and your German will get good enough so that you can take the courses in German, which is the best option. Good luck.

@TheSunmanho What makes you say something so harsh? All international students, no matter where they are from, are most welcome in Germany. It's not about the nationality but the personal attitude about living in a foreign country be it Germany or anywhere els in the world.
