Fun fact in an interview Daisuke said in the song that plays at the end of story mode of Strive ( Talk about you ), he wanted the message to be genuine so he thinks about his family while writing the song. This is why this song can be seen as "parentful" as you described in the video

The singer for One piece made (i think officially?) a lyrical cover to May's theme from X2, "Blue water blue sky", maybe there was One piece in mind when creating this piece, because there's a history between these two.

To give some context for the first song Icarus: it’s in the perspective of Elphelt Valentine, sister of Ramlethal valentine, when she was still forced to obey the commands of “mother”. All she wanted was to be free to live her life with her newfound family alongside ram, sin, sol, Ky, etc but “mother” tried to use her to bring about the destruction of what she deemed to be fake humans. It ties in with the actual mythos of icarus except she’s not arrogant that she can actually escape (longing for the sunshine even if my wings melt away). She’s fully aware of how “mother’s” influence will keep her locked away almost in a completely separate world from everyone else and pleads for anyone (mostly ram) to save her. The desperation she feels is so strong that just to be finally be free and as an act of defiance to “mother” she attempts to self destruct while saying something along the lines of if this is all emotions lead to then I wish I was never born. The self destruction was stopped by ram and she says to wait for her for when she’s finally able to rescue her. Oh and for another GG ost Johnny’s theme in strive is coming out pretty soon

This was such a pleasant row of videos to watch jhulian, im glad you finally arrived at probably my fav. in the series, "The name of Heaven", its just so powerful, amplified too if you know the context of it in the story :] Excited to see if you're gonna go over any remaining lyrics songs in the future if theres any left, i cant quite recall honestly :D

Talk About You and Divide My Heart are about Sol and his relationship with the many versions of his lover across the series. Lots of the ones in the other Xrd video of yours are also about the two of them as well. also you're spot on. The songs in these games are integral to the storytelling. Even the ones in earlier games without vocals are hard hitting expressions of the characters and their motivations, or the vs themes being the relationships/conflicts between characters.

Divide my heart is so good and I just really like where it goes. I mean if you listen to the beginning and most part you think it's just a guy discovering the evil of this world but some part especially the ending "do I?" gives the feeling that whoever is singing is not so innocent or perhaps, if this song is not about someone especially that none of us are really that innocent.

I would like to recommend you give a listen to the Non-vocal songs from Xrd (or well, basically the rest of the series but that would take too long) they are just as amazing as the vocal tracks even if a little less narratively "obvious"

Asuka was one of the other scientists with Sol in the beggining. Gravity is the greatest force, it binds things to others. Also the idea of letting of go "control" and just accepting what happens (Asuka was a freak control, some of the horrible stuff in the plot of GG happened because of him, not because he wanted to tho).

Look the character tracks are amazing and I love them to death, but man I love Faisukes balled tracks just a tiny bit more. They are just so powerful and have some beautiful lyrics in them. At this point the only tracks I would love to see a video for is All I can do, and Storyteller. Those are like the only tracks not done that I rank as some of my all time fav GG tracks (well theres also Six black heavens guns, but thats a far heavier track).
