Hello friends! Look at me, posting weekly!! I don't know if I'll do this often but I kind of miss putting out a casual lil weekly vlog. I used to post a new vlog every single week and I look back very fondly on those videos. While it's not something I think I can make sustainable having them once in a while is kinda nice hehe. They have this ~casual~ vibe that I quite enjoy. I hope you like this one and I'll see u soon!!!

I'm a pretty big mechanical keyboard enthusiast, so I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have! $100 isn't too bad for a decent mechanical keyboard, actually, though you can get them for less. And you can certainly spend a lot more! The main thing that contributes to the sound and feel of a keyboard is the switch type: tactile switches aren't too loud, and have a little bump of resistance when you press them, linear switches don't (the only feedback you get is when you "bottom out" by pressing all the way down until they hit the base plate), and the (in)famous clicky switches that have resistance kind of like tactile switches but make a click when you press through (they give you a good amount of auditory and tactile feedback when you've activated the key, which is why they're so satisfying for many). Within each category are a whole range of different variations, like how much pressure you need to press the key, where and how much the tactile bump is for tactiles, and what kind of click you get for clickies. Hotswap keyboards let you swap out one switch for another. But truthfully the thing I got into mechanical keyboards for is the ability to swap out keycaps. A lot of the really cool ones only have limited runs, and you have to preorder them before they go into production, often months in advance. They can also run you $100, plus-or-minus, since they're not being mass-produced. Thankfully there are also some great sets you can get in-stock, that look great, and don't cost an arm-and-a-leg! Shops to check out for keebs and keys include: mechanicalkeyboards.com/, thekey.company/, and novelkeys.com/

Not sure if you have watched it but there is a great british bake off for ceramics and pottery! It is called the Great Pottery Throw Down. Unsure how you would get it in the US but it is wholesome vibes and so much fun!

Okay I'm only 5 mins in but I wanted to say ceramics is really hard! It took me a full year to learn in a college setting with lots of support and only now 3 years later am I feeling comfortable enough to make products. Patience is absolutely key and if its something you wanna do you will get there !!

Hi Megan! I've been catching up on your channel after Sha'an mentioned you as one of her faves and I'm finally commenting. I've really been loving getting to know you and watch you grow so much (binge watching means I'm getting a year's worth of your life changes in a few weeks haha). One thing from your videos that has had a positive impact on me (in addition all the art and creativity inspo) is how you often say that you are proud of yourself for accomplishing or solving xyz. I've noticed it a lot in your vlogs, and I think it stood out to me because I realized I never say it (or think it) for myself. But I've started to say it consciously lately, thanks to you. I think it's helping me be less hard on myself, and hoping it's one more step forward on the self love journey. So thank you🙏 Stay safe and well!

if you've never used a vlogging/fancier camera before I totally recommend the canon g7x mark II. it's a very popular vlogging camera and it's a point & shoot so you really just hit record and it'll get beautiful footage. now that I've been doing youtube for a year, I do like the newer camera I purchased (the sony zve-10) because it's a bit sharper, and I can plug in an external microphone. if you're just starting out though, I think the canon g7x would be great!!!

don’t be so hard on yourself with pottery! it is a slow medium with a big learning curve in the beginning because it is about good technique. it took me at least 2 years to hit my stride. the idea of even trying to produce a lot of perfect things out of the gate from one six week class made me laugh.
