In addition to all the great comments (which I echo) I'd like to thank you for prioritizing a well done project over speed. All the little details are so wonderful!

Cutest, ❤️littlest boxed pouch I have ever seen. Your video and instructions are so clear and well timed. It is such fun watching how the same pouch can be constructed differently. I find it easier to cut the square for the boxed corners out, add binding and then box the corners. I can see my seams that way. I love your videos thank you.

Thank you so much! Isn't it great how there are so many different ways to make it even though it's such a small project. I have noticed cutting out the little corner does make it easier to get a straighter line. With the method I used it's easier to be a bit faster, but also less precise due to all the bulk.

Glad it was helpful! I think I got the idea from Kate at the Last Homely House ( Love her channel!) but many quilters use one.

You're bindings are amazing! I have been learning bindings and sewed them twice before seeing your video, they were so hard, so confusing! The method you showed here just makes sense, I used it in a boxy pouch tonight and they came out beautifully. Thanks for sharing this!

Glad I could help! I love that about sewing, where sometimes doing it slightly differently it just clicks.

lovely pouch! thank you. can this be made in larger sizes?
@CharlotteKanStudio
@CharlotteKanStudio 2 ай бұрын
Yes, absolutely! You could easily make a bigger size. If I'm figuring out sizes I often make a rough paper version to decide on the scale before I commit and make a template. Thanks for watching!

Love this little project 😍 is it possible to sew a French seam at the sides of the pouch?
@CharlotteKanStudio
@CharlotteKanStudio Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes you could do a french seam. But I would sew long fabric tabs onto the zipper ends so the zipper teeth and tape don’t go in to the French seam, it would be too bulky. To reduce bulk even more I would end the batting just before the French seam too.

You are so neat and precise in your sewing. Beautiful work, gorgeous pouch! As an aside, what machine do you use please?

Thank you! I have a Pfaff Classic 1525 which I used in this and most videos. It was my first sewing machine which I bought in 2004. I still use it as my main sewing machine. I also have a second-hand Pfaff Edition 130 (80s?), another stellar machine. They are workhorses that (with the help of many interns) have sewn hundreds and maybe even over a thousand garments when I still designed and produced a womenswear label. I'm not sure if I would recommend the current PFAFF models, but the ones from the 80s/90s/00s are all solid machines. I also love the Berninas from the 80s.

Thank you very much (from France) I was looking for this tutorial for a long time. I do one little pouch before fall on your video. I'll try soon. I have one question (sorry) Can you explain how to do the bunny thread bunny. Furthermore, I see a little piece of fabric ticker, but i'm not sure.
@CharlotteKanStudio
@CharlotteKanStudio Жыл бұрын
So glad to hear the tutorial was helpful! The thread bunny is just a some folded scrap fabric. You want the thread bunny to (sort of) match the thickness of your project. So if your project is 2 layers of fabric + wadding you could stack 3 or 4 layers of fabric and use that. And for the last part of your question "I see a little piece of fabric ticker" I'm not sure what you mean.

Do you have a list of fabrics and the actual zipper used?
@CharlotteKanStudio
@CharlotteKanStudio 4 ай бұрын
The outer fabric I used is: Sharon Holland - Listen to your Heart - India Ink Six Lining is Calico / unbleached cotton from Ikea Bomull (they stoped carrying it) The batting is from Vlieseline 268 Bamboo Mix 50/50 The zipper is a nylon coil zipper, not sure about the exact one but I use the Optilon brand as that's available locally Hope this helps!
