If you dread doing homework and settling down to study, you are not alone. In her talk, Kiki shares 3 study techniques that will not just reduce your study time, but also make it more enjoyable.
Kiki is an 8th-grade student at Lord Byng Secondary School in Vancouver. She loves to paddleboard and often lies down on it in the middle of the lake to gaze up at the sky. She imagines herself as a surfer when the waves come in. Kiki also enjoys reading, playing the piano and guitar, and taking care of her pet goldfish and turtle. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

note; this comment was made 4ds ago when there were less comments & useless criticisms which are now lost within the others. if you don't see them now, great. **if** you're critisizing her posture, movements, etc, cut her some slack. she's an 8th grader giving a ted-talk which is kinda a huge thing. she's doing well.

I had noticed some things, like the way she memorized the text and some lack of ability in talking, but I thought that she was in college! That incredible for a kid, I'm proud of how she managed to stand up and talk with confidence, she still has a lot to learn, but it a good start (better than mine sos).

I don't think anybody will notice that in an 8th grader. Don't initiate such things with these comments. Will be better if you delete your comment.

1.focus time: a. for study, playing , any activities b. inform your friends and families. c. is a commitment to youself. 2. environment: a. no distractions, a focus zone b. tip: drinks and snacks to keep you study longer. c. tip: organise your desk based on your need. d. tip: ambient sounds help blocking out distractive sounds. e. tip: maybe classic music 3. This kid got an amazing line: I'm just a kid not perfect so I cope with current condition and improve. edit: I'm more than glad this helps.

Ever since I've stumbled upon the mantra of "study smarter, not harder," my mind was instantly fascinated. It opened my eyes to a wise perspective: success isn't tied to the amount of hours you put into studying. It's about finding our own unique strategies that works efficiently, allowing us to reach our full potential.

Prioritize your focus time: a. Whether it's for studying, playing, or any other activity, make a conscious effort to allocate dedicated time for it. b. Communicate with your friends and family so that they respect your focus time and avoid interrupting you during it. c. Make a commitment to yourself to stay focused and avoid distractions. Optimize your environment: a. Create a focus zone where you minimize distractions and maximize productivity. b. Keep drinks and snacks nearby to sustain your energy and concentration. c. Organize your desk according to your needs and preferences. d. Use ambient sounds or music to block out distracting noises. e. Consider listening to classical music, which can enhance focus and relaxation. Inspiring words from a kid: "This kid has a powerful mindset: acknowledging that they're not perfect but willing to cope with their current conditions and strive for improvement. We can all learn from this attitude and apply it to our own lives.

What I learned from the lecture 1. Find your focus time as she mentioned that 7pm better for me 2. Stick to that time ( make sure consistency) 3. State during study your studying posture and place also affect study 4. Avoid distractions like phone extra magazines etc 5. Keep all required things like bottle of water to avoid interruption 6. Keep studying place clean and organise 7. Music in background to avoid distractions in home like TV sounds and cocking sounds also she mention that music leads to mood and the mood affect your study

@ahmadalii5932

I got you. My humble advice is to first just sit down, close your eyes and count slowly to 60. My daughter, who is 60 years of age, and I am 19 years her senior and we are both Juniors at University. Attention deficit disorder is our bowl of jam so I am speaking from experience. Sometimes I convince myself, the clothes that need washing (three pieces), or hanging up two pairs of pants and a sweatshirt are my enemies and I turn my back to them and dig in. Ahmad 🖊 Ali

If U are talking about a tutor for extra class then I agree that we need tutor to guide us but what if some people can't afford getting a tutor? This is where ur smart friends came in handy but what if u don't have friends? Then it might be great to be more focused in class(assuming school or college) and make sure u understand the subject u are studying. If u don't understand pop a question to the teacher. U can also review back what u learn and make a small flash card of what u learn. This helps ur brain to work hard and remember the subject and write it in a card.
