how i solved this problem last year: get yourself a kindle (which is $$ but a one-time investment) and then download library ebooks onto it. changed the quarantine game for me.

Most of my hw is electronic or online. I opt for e-texts so I don’t carry heavy books. Or I take photos of my readings to save myself from carrying a whole textbook. I think it varies for everyone. Depends on your major. As a art major I have less books. But either way, I am just suggesting if it is not essential, then you don’t have to carry everything around.

regarding the pool, i work in one as a swim teacher and the cdc has said that the virus can’t transmit through swimming pool water, so as long as it’s distanced, it’s very safe! especially due to chlorination

I’ve worked that film set that’s been on your campus. Can’t say anything about it really, but those food delivery robots kept driving into the shots and the crew had to team up to move them when the AI couldn’t figure out how to get around their equipment, haha!

yeah i agree with you... we've certainly lost so much. i'm in my first year of junior high/middle school and i was really excited for the option classes, the lockers, and the different classes, but i didn't get to experience any of it :((( but the pandemic helped me grow closer to my friends and family, and made me realize how much i need them

In all my years of undergrad and grad school I went to the library so few times. I basically only went when I needed a book but didn't want to or could check it out and once to watch a movie for some violence in media course I had to take. Libraries just aren't the right study environment for me; I liked reading while outside, sitting under the trees. I also didn't live on campus so between classes and work, I was usually rushing to leave campus.

It’s so interesting seeing a difference in places, because my college had full online for like half a semester and then like the fall was half online and some were able to go in person or hybrid. Things were still open just social distanced, even our campus library once the fall semester. My college actually is removing mask stuff starting in June so yay!!

wow ucla is really strict on covid stuff. I just finished freshman year at the university of michigan and almost all the buildings were open (some with reservations) and you just had to fill out a symptom checker to get in

I’m thinking of buying the pilot frixion highlighters, but I heard that they smudge textbooks if you try to erase them. Is this true?

Yeah, it does. As a result of that I usually don't use those highlighters for erasing in textbooks. But they're perfect for highlighting in textbooks though as they don't bleed through the pages. I have one in my pencil case for just this reason 😊
