This is my personal journey regarding my application for a Canadian student visa. I am a 41-year old overseas worker, who only got to finish two years of my four-year course in the Philippines, who had a gap year of over 15 years, who applied for a student visa three months ago. I thoroughly reviewed schools and programs that are DLIs and related to my previous education/work experience respectively, collected and fulfilled every requirement thereof before lodging my non-sds application to IRCC. Being overseas also meant that I had to authorize a relative to collect my documents from my school, the nbi, psa, etc. Now, I took it upon myself to explain all of these in my statement of purpose which was three pages long. I made sure that my SOP was strong and factual and well supported with documents. Two months passed after lodging my application, my visa was approved. I will be flying soon to Canada for the fall 2022 term. With dedication, perseverance AND PRAYER, anyone around my age can make it. Stay safe everyone!

Guys, just check the recent Express Entry draw - specifically Draw 176! Date: Feb 13, 20201 Type: CEC Draw CRS Cut-off Score: 75 points ITAs issued: 27,332 RECORD BREAKING DRAW. NEVER BEFORE SEEN. I think IRCC is making it very clear who they are targeting. They want people with Canadian experience, primarily students that work a skilled job after graduation. To the students that applied 2-3 years ago and didn’t know what it would amount to, well now you know 😜❤️🥰 There’s no competition for CEC people. They can simply breathe at this point and still get invited 😂😂 But everyone else may need to try a bit harder.

Hi, Rachel! I also came here in Canada (Montreal) as an international student. I took a 14 month course and I was given a 3 yr visa. Idk if this is a rare case but I think sending a letter to the immigration written by your family member who’s living here in Canada really helped a lot bec my school’s lawyer asked my brother for his bank statements and what not. I thought it was because of covid but I think having your family declare that they will cover your expenses is really helpful in getting a more than a year PGWP. 😬😬 Love your videos!

Its not possible for all to study, especially those who have a financial crunch. It's too risky. Is there any other way can one gain CEC? This just translates to the fact that - if you are short on finance, you can never make it to Canada because you need to spend millions on studies first.
@rrdancel
@rrdancel 3 жыл бұрын
Please check out my other videos on finance. If finances will be a problem, I suggest to not take this route as it will be detrimental for you. You can still gain CEC through a work permit. However, work permit is difficult to get. Please read more on Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). This is usually the prerequisite for a closed work permit.

Warm Greetings for Qatar Doha. I’m Argentinian but came to Doha a year ago to save some money as to emigrate to Canada and settle down. I’ll be studying on 2024 in a private college in Whistler cause it’s cheaper than a public college and after one year I’ll have a go on public college so as to be eligible for a PGWP once I finish studying. 😊

@@jefinni Actually this private college doesn’t grant PGWP after graduation but gives you a alternative cheaper option to land in Canada and start making money so after 1 year study program you can swap to a DLI (public college) which upon graduation grants PGWP. Although, many thanks for the advice. Cheers

I‘m going to throw in a different route. Get a job locally in your country at an international company and do a company internal relocation to Canada on a work permit. Get some Canadian job experience and apply for PR while on a (max 5 year) work permit. A higher education that passes credential evaluation is of advantage. Job offer from the company that you already work with is 50 additional points.

Hi Rachel, Is it okay to go through study route while already in the Express entry pool?
@rrdancel
@rrdancel 2 жыл бұрын
There is a bit of a conflict as one application is for permanent intent and the other is for temporary intent. However, it should be ok if you are able to understand the idea behind dual intent. I suggest you get some assistance from an authorized representative to assist with your application. If you need a referral to one, please send me an email to rrdancel@canxvisa.com.

I don't know if you see this but THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!❤️❤️❤️ I was a little lost and had no idea what step I should take but this is so informative and really helpful. I'm planning to study in Canada and hopefully will get a PR as well. 😊🥰 Also I'm wondering if I'm planing to study France before go to Canada. Would it be possible to increase the change of getting a PR or even a post-grad job? or no need for that.

Hi Nathawara, Appreciate your comment. Studying in France is beneficial if you learned French because that is helpful for points towards being selected for PR. Its not required for work but it may French may increase your chances of getting certain jobs if you speak both English and French. Hope that helps 😊😊😊

Canda depends on International student and want to come to canada for studies and offer post study opportunity but whats absurd and ironic is that most of the student applications are rejected with the reason they are not convinced that the applicant would leave after the study permit is over. It just makes no sense why have a post study work visa in the first place if you want the students to leave after the study. half of the applicants have to now make up stories to convince that they will leave where in reality they just dont want to leave that is not the purpose of paying so much and coming to a country. I fail to seriously understand why canada portrays themselves as they need immigrants but at the same time they decline so many student permits just because they are not convinced they will leave country while they can better contribute to the canadian economy after getting local studies. I Find it quite hypocritical.
@kiranjitkaur2301

I think the only reason they reject the study permits is when they see you don't have sufficient funds to support all your years of study and enough funds to leave the country IF you have to. If canada or any country opened up their study permits just to lead it to PR later, it would be chaos. After completing your studies you're expected to get a permanent job that helps the economy and if they think those are not your intentions they will decline your visa. I mean you can't have everyone paying international fees, becoming a resident and reaping the benefits while also not filling up the need for skilled labour. Also many students come on a study permit but don't leave after, working on cash and staying away from the government. That's also an issue. So they have to choose the right candidates for the study permit.

Love the content and the way you bring your message about. My question is...I have a family and would love to move to Canada but was not thinking of studying. Is there another way and if so what's the degree of difficulty of getting sorted out? So you recommend any universities that will help international students in the process if I do decide to take the studying in Canada route?

Yes there are many ways to come to Canada. Each "way" has so many different requirements. You will need to be fully assessed to find th "way" that best suits you and that gives you the best chance of being approved.

Hi Ms. @rrdancel, nice and informative content. I was wondering if studying is still the best pathway to PR given my age? I believe that the more you age, the lower the points. I am currently 35 years old. Given that it is ideal to take a 2-year program, let's say I graduated after 2 years, so by that time I will be 37. Would it still be worth it to take the study pathway? Your reply is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

My friends graduated from Vancouver Film School, 1 year course , pg diploma , pvt college, no pgwp status after graduation, got into a job, applied for PNP and somehow have work permits now (not an employee sponsored permit). He didn't even have work experience before this. Meanwhile after getting rolled over by graduate admissions because of how tough it is this year, I just don't know what to do. I am just unable to understand how they got a permit and heck even a PR nomination so quickly. I am afraid to go there without a masters admission despite that college being quite good for learning game programming because of it not being on the list for a pgwp.
