Just want to pop in to add on to the iPad thing, I’ve been using one as a studying tool for three years and it’s my absolute baby that I would save from a fire over any item I own, but I’d like to specify that you do not need the pro version! Like you really don’t! I used an iPad 6 for two years and it was fantastic and still works well! I only upgraded because my mom wanted to inherit my first one (she’s a teacher!) and it still works fantastic for her. I’ve upgraded to a pro 2020 because why not, and honestly the experience isn’t that different. Sure it’s smoother and the 2nd gen pencil is a lot more convinient, but it’s not worth that amount of money. I strongly recommend you get an iPad air over a pro if you’re not someone who actually does professional grade things, like photo editing, digital drawing or 3D modelling. Save your money and enjoy life as a paper free butterfly.

yes, it's actually helpful! i got my ipad pro (9.7 inch) almost 5 years ago but it's still working like new! and i don't have the real apple pencil but i do have a knockoff, and it saved me so much! i no longer write my answers on my notebook, i instead write it on my ipad, digitally!

Annabeth Chase my friend has an 8! Not to plug her without her consent but her study instagram is @rubymaydental and she posts loads of iPad pictures. She actually does like it very much and it does the same job as my pro! My mom still uses the 6 and it works super well for her too, so I’m sure an 8 would be fantastic too! Honestly, besides the convenience of the second gen pencil, the pro isn’t that difference of an experience for a student.

hack for the apple pencil grip, you can take the grip from a pen and use that! obv not all will fit / will be removable, but worth trying to see if you have an old pen that has one that’ll work! (just thought i’d mention for anyone watching that might find it useful x)

Digital note-taking has been a LIFE SAVER for me for online learning! All of my teachers want us to handwrite out homework and send them PDFs, so I can easily upload my homework pages to turn them in without worrying about a third party scanning app. I have a 6th gen ipad and first gen apple pencil, and it works just as amazing as the ipad that she has for a WAY lower price.

just a note for the iPad Pro + Apple Pencil, there are many different tablets that you can also use! the Samsung galaxy s6 lite is pretty similar and SO MUCH cheaper. plus the s pen comes free with it :)

The only downside is, the tip of the S pen, that comes with the tablet, frays very quickly and you don't get nib replacements, you have to buy the pen again

That is so interesting what you said about College and Bullet Journaling because I'm totally the opposite. In HS and now at work I have a real like hour to hour schedule and I find the planner so helpful (I switched from BuJo to Techo Avec Cousin) to schedule my tasks around my day-to-day schedule. In College, though, my loose and irregular schedule I found lent itself really well to just listing what short/long term things I had to get done and finding whatever time i needed to work on them. I Found it really hard to block schedule time when I had so many things to do and the bullet journal really made it easy to have semester long projects or single day tasks get broken down and take up as much or as little space as they need. With my normal work schedule I find that space flexibility isn't as important as getting a sense of when things are happening and for how long. I guess it's really true what you said in the beginning that we all have different lives and work differently

I didn't get an iPad, but i got a Samsung Galaxy S6 lite tablet and I agree, it makes annotating a dream!! SO much more practical. And it also really helped me to make sure i have a proper monitor for zoom classes! Such a stepup in my 10 inch notebook screen, and way better for my back! And most of my uni life runs on Google Calendar, Google Drive, Microsoft To-Do and Samsung Notes, all free apps (i think) that i suuuper recommend!

I also made changes to my study pattern and dropped my bad habits I don't have iPad or tablet so I and my brother study in my mom's phone and dad's laptop. We somehow manage I started using the promodoro technique, Anki card(since my parents won't buy paper cards) watching video lectures, making my own notes and explaining what I study to my father! (Yes he is very eager to whatever I explain maybe because I am still in middle school) And your channel helped me figure out so much so I want to thank you so much for changing my study time table to long hours to short intervals of effective learning

100% AGREE WITH THE IPAD AND PENCIL. I use mine all the time and it's so helpful. I think it's a pretty decent alternative to a laptop because of the versatility, but it's even better as a supplemental tool. I also love GoodNotes! Idk why but thank you for emphasising Bullet Journal vs Planner because i've been trying to get myself into bullet journaling but i think i dont have enough time to decorate and fill everything and i don't wanna spend money on a journal that i might wont utilise. a tip for those who are wondering if they want to get an apple pencil grip~ 1. if a soft grip is not a must for you, you can try wrapping washi tape around your apple pencil and that pretty much solves the slippery problem 2. if you want a rubbery grip but don't want to spend money, you can take the grip from pentel energel (the one studytee likes) and wrap some washi tape around the position where you want the grip to be. The pentel energel grip then fits nicely on your apple pencil (this is mostly for apple pencil 1 gen though I don't have a 2nd gen apple pencil so I nvr tried)

my school uses dell touch screen laptops and they are amazing! especially if you prefer windows instead of mac os, and the general setup of having a computer rather than a tablet. i. often use the touch screen for notes (usually on one note), but then switch to the keyboard when typing longer things or on websites (such as quizlet or google docs)

It's a free thing but I found out that the Forest app can also be used on computer as an extension so since we are at home and everything is so distracting (I'm the type of person who can only study in libraries and they are close now so yeah...) at least that thing blocks me from using distracting websites for the time I choose and so it's helping me a little bit. I also downloaded another extension called "OneTab" because I always have too many tabs open and the what the extension does is making all your open tabs in just one only tab (idk if I can explain it well) so you still have all the tabs you need but they are organized in just one tab. So glad to hear you are adjusting well to college life =) I'm sorry it's different because of world events, but some sort of independence will really help you and your mental health and give confidence that you can do the thing. And be proud of it. Many people can't handle that life and load. In freshman orientation they said "Look to your left and right. One of you won't make it past first semester" and it was very true. I absolutely needed a calendar whiteboard that I could write my schedule on, color code classes, and write down work hours. I didn't need to constantly look at my schedule in the beginning, cuz I took the time to have it on my wall. I also use this same calendar for teaching =) Had no idea iPad was so freakin useful for notetaking. Would have saved my back and me lugging around notebooks and class books they required us to have in class back then. Notetaking on that sounds amazing too. I liked how the Surface let you split screen, so it's pretty much the same? It seems many people are getting lots of use out of an iPad cuz of Procreate, and Cricut to make and sell their own stuff. Mindblowing how easy it is now. My mom and I have been writing letters a lot (her moreso) and went through some pretty terrible pens, so I'm thinking of getting her a Dr. Grip or Uni Alpha Jetstream ballpoint and refills. My energel refills have been amazing, and I'm glad I can save some bucks here and there with it. Currently loving blueblack ink! The paper and pen never really leaves you, Jaz
