Big thanks to Idenati for sponsoring today's video! Check them out here: idenati.com/about?ref=StudyToSucess hiii!!! When are your final exams? Mine are the first week of December! And I hope you enjoy this video!! It was kind of hard to cover everything I wanted to regarding laziness in a 10 minute video, but I tried my best 😅 Hopefully it’s helpful and at least somewhat relatable!🥰💖

1:29 rip book you will be rembered. Btw Estella so relatable and refreshing to see. She isn't all like ' I lead a perfect life' but actually shows that unmotivation also hits her. We are humans and we are not expected to be productive all the time

true but i take that as an procrastination option to just watch yt and be like ' we are not expected to be productive all the time' so i don't really like that sentence , and does anyone have an answer where you want to do something you need to do that but you can't stop with wathcing something or playing something so you just say ill do it double tomorrow and then do nothing the next morning?

My problem is ADHD, executive dysfunction and also the need to do everything perfectly xD Tired / bored / unmotivated is what I feel when I have low dopamine levels. Plus the anxiety of being behind in my studies, the guilt of being "lazy" , the depression of feeling like a disappointment to yourself and everyone around you... Aside from the fact of having a "label" such as an official diagnosis or not, the first thing is to recognize that yeah, being "lazy" is not a sin and you should forgive yourself. The second thing is to help yourself by building an environment around you that helps when you are feeling at your worst and start with small tasks (as you have said in the video), as hard as it is in the beggining. Also meditation & exercise are free and super helpful for brain health. If you can afford to, speaking to a therapist also really helps. I write lazy between quotation marks because I personally think that if you can't do something you WANT to do and you feel paralyzed, its not laziness it's exective dysfunction. I think an actual "lazy" person doesn't really care about doing "the thing" and the consequences. That said, disclaimer I am ALSO not a professional, not a therapist, not an expert, just a 20 something year old that has big goals and a history of bad habits and decisions! I also LOVED this video 💜

I really do feel everything you have described here and the guilt is even making me distance myself from everyone since they are always asking about the progress in my studies and more which I know is not really okay. I wish I can stop being like this and become more productive with my life

I saw a tip on a ytb short, idk if it works but let me share this tip with you 😊 So, for example, you’re chilling on your couch, and you have to do your homework. You just saying to yourself « work for 5 minutes, this is easy ». After the 5 min, if you want continue your work, you continue but if you don’t, you stop. Apparently 9/10 times you continue your work 😊 Anyways, I really like this video 😊

I would define lazy as someone not wanting to be productive, purposely choosing not to be motivated and act. As someone with ADHD, my desire and drive is to be constantly productive and making progress, but my executive dysfunction and daily overwhelm is a real issue that stops me moving forward. The times when I feel more productive and managing it, is always followed by burnout and extreme fatigue. I, like you, was constantly trying to find the 'magic' solution as so many people seem to be able to be self motivated and productive. I have concluded to just try and do things the way that fit and suit me, to get by and do what is needed. It is hard to manage and I strive to have balance in all areas of life, but I accept that my brain works in a different way. I can never be perfect and have set routine, but I can seek ideas, solutions and little life hacks to help manage the things to help make life a little easier. Things don't have to be done one way, we can adapt the 'norm' to suit our own needs.

And just like that... I lose my motivation, enthusiasm, and just lay face down on my bed :( My solution is to constantly tell myself "better something than nothing". This gets me to do something and just not lay around and get nothing! Well, better get me off the floor now and have some coffee 🌚

waaaa this was so eye-opening :,,,,) your talk about what school teaching us to get by and react to outside things was so good. i'm currently taking a gap year and i realize while watching the video that i'm struggling to become the ✨ideal self✨ i wanted to be because i no longer have school to help me get by and no homework to do - everything is up to me 😣😣 and i'm realizing that this really has been throwing me off the loop. it's like im restarting my life from scratch and the talk about training your will power really opened my mind. i've become so “lazy” that even simple things like brushing my teeth and taking a shower became exhausting. however, i've been trying to do things consistently and brushing my teeth became easier - it no longer felt like a task and became a habit this video was so relatable i felt so called out LOL but i love the idea of accepting laziness. i gave up on trying to wake up early and i'm letting my body wake up whenever it wants. i hated this and wanted so badly to wake up at 6 am so i can be the most productive as i can be. this video gave me comfort thank you so much for making this video and sharing your journey

For those of you who struggle to understand why you can't self-motivate and can only be motivated by hard deadlines, please consider getting screened for ADHD! 😊 My whole life I was told I was lazy, missed small details, didn't apply myself, and a thousand other moral failings... but then I found out it was just ADHD.

That is true, my dad and brother were diagnosed with mild ADHD, they did overcome it to a point. But I thought I was different since it wasn't so obvious. After graduating school and getting a diploma I had less and less external stimulus, all tasks I have after work are basically made by myself. And now I realise how hard is to push myself and stay concentrated, and do things that don't realy have a deadline, I would start 20 things to get 1 done. That is a good point to get screened.

@@SayHelloToOblivion Our understanding of ADHD has definitely changed a lot in the past ten years, so it makes sense that the diagnosis rate is increasing with greater understanding of what it is. That being said, there are lots of things that look like ADHD, but aren't. That's the purpose of differential diagnosis :)

0:39 in Islam, we know that the reason we are lazy is: 1. It's normal to be lazy 2. Satan/devil is whispering in our ears Example: Satan: "don't study just watch the tv" And that's the reason why we're lazy so much

This is a great video!! I kept trying to change all my bad habits at once and failing every time and would get upset but recently I decided to just pick one thing to work on and took it in baby steps and guess what I am finally succeeding!! And not I am ready to start working on one more thing.

This video is by far my most favourite. It's so realistic and relatable and so SO in the right moment for me. Because as of late I've just been feeling so anxious and lazy about doing...just about anything. Even doing the things I love! I always thought to myself 'why am I feeling like this?' Or 'why can't I do the things I want even though I have the time?' It just always stumped me, even today when I'm thinking to myself 'WHY CAN'T I DO ANYTHING RIGHT?!' And after seeing this video it made me feel so much better, like it's my life saver. It's just makes me feel like this is finally the advice that I've been waiting to hear. So, thank you Estella this video has made my day. You're the best and I can't wait for you giveaway soon😁💜💜💜

Back in the days when life wasn't so easy you're parents would make you do what needed to be done whether you liked it or not. Not every parent's method was decent however that would teach you discipline. My generation parents seem to have totally omitted discipline because they didn't like to be disciplined themselves but in doing so they have done a great disservice to their own children, because life is not about what you feel like doing at the moment, life is about creating your reality and that takes a lot of discipline and work. Giving into your laziness ends up making you feel depressed and a failure because things simply don't materialise by themselves. Amen

The meaning of life has changed significantly over the years though. I think the fact we use critical thinking now is also a factor. We teach kids to reason, and they reason that if they don’t have to do something, it can become less of a priority. This is a far cry from generations who were taught to just do what they were told, for no reason
