I don't think to many people breaking into homes will choose to pick a lock but try every window (out of view of the public), and working on it to see if the window will eventually give or go the fast route, take your trusty glass cutting tool, cut a hole in the window, and release the lock in a door or window. It's not fancy but I would think that would be a far better thing them wasting time on a lock. Nice work though, it did a great job.

better yet, find a place with exposed door hinges. just knock the pins out and walk in. most of the breakins ive seen have been carelessly unlocked doors or windows where people just walk around back, take a box cutter to the bug nets, and open the window up. a lock only stops an honest man, there are loads of much easier ways to break into a place.

There's no doubt in my mind that we are not only going bull, but BTCis going nuclear. A lot of people are wondering if now is a good time to buy because of where the price is at right now. I'd say it's outrightly wrong to just sit back hodl and wait maybe incur some losses along the line, that's a wrong mindset for an investor because as an investor finding ways to always increase and stack up more coins thereby making prof!ts should be the way of life, even experienced traders are in a doubt to take long or short position. I have been more skillful than lucky to be honest also thanks to Daniel wright who trained me as my initial investment was multiplied so much In two months. Looking at your gear solution (4:39) I think you could make that work by adjusting the gear ratio so the bottom cylinder rotates faster than the top. Also, instead of using a single solid pin (blue in your illustration), you could stack short pins (red in your illustration) in that lower pin area. Just an idea 🙂

One of the best anti pick locks I've come across IMO was this old Yale dead bolt... I think it only had 3 pins but the mechanism to turn the deadbolt required the 6pin key to reach the back of the lock. The very end of the key turned the actuator to unlock the bolt. Pretty simple yet unless you knew how it worked then regular lock pick tension wrenches didn't work. Luckily I happen to make all my own tools so one of my frequently used tensioner was one that reached the length of the keyway so I didn't only keep pressure on the front.. I figured out the mechanism while restoring the dead bolt afterwards. But if you weren't me or didn't know about it then you could sit there and pick those 3 pins all day and not know wtf was going on.

@@TheAyanamiRei he didn't have to use a plier and mallet... Lots of common bump picking tools cause the vibrations the mallet did while providing torque at the same time. Look at the German made Multipick Kronos, for the most luxurious of these. Also common quite impact drivers on a low setting could do the same, while simultaneously providing torque. All the aforementioned rake tools could also act as tensioners, obviating the need for pliers. Mallets and pliers are just really common among locksmiths for bumping attacks and extremely mainstream. The difference between a good electropicks and other vibrating devices, is the pivot point is far forward and have high inertia. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4TKmXWLfq-YZ9E

It turns out a pocket knife and the ability to walk back the bolt is good enough, though it took a long time to figure out. Although if he left the lock as is when he tried the lock for the first time alongside the other two locks, that would probably truly be unpickable because of internal problems.

i would love to see this back and forth continue. with LPL's continual feedback on each iteration, you could do the thing you always do - hyperfocus a problem until you've drilled it out of existence with your determination to not let it win lol and with enough feedbacks and iterations, i'm sure you could finally make an unpickable one

@dpatts
@dpatts 3 жыл бұрын
Spoiler ahead So there were two exploits on the newer lock: the thin piece of metal tensioning the upper core, making it pickable (now fixed with a back-cover) and the 45 degree anti-retraction mechanism being walkable with a pointy knife (which is fixed by decreasing the angle of the fin). With these two exploits addressed, how would LPL get around a new design?

The second one was opened by cheating - making a small place between the lock and the surface of the wooden door. This last lock is perfect. No one, not even LPL, can open it unless it's on the surface of the door. When mounted submerged just three millimeters below the surface of the door, LPL has no chance of opening it.
