Stumping avocado trees is a technique farmers use to reduce the size of a tree, rejuvenate the health and productivity of an avocado tree. I try to reshape a tree so it will sprout new foliage on the remaining limbs in a wide spreading structure. In 3 years the new tree produces its first healthy crop of avocados. Hopefully the fruit is plentiful and large. This technique also provides new mulch on the ground from all the brush being chipped and left on the ground. Water is also reduced for a few years since the the size of the tree is also reduced. There are a couple downsides to this process. One is that weeds tend to grow because of all the sunlight now hitting the ground after the trees are stumped. The other downside is that no fruit is available for a couple years, also meaning no income for those 2 years. I hope you enjoy the video, thank you for watching.
