Many thanks for this!! Amazing!! Do you happen to know of or do you have any tutorials / courses that teach compositing in Fusion on this level? I know I can take various Nuke tutorials and apply the concept and techniques in Fusion, but I would prefer for the tutorials to be fusion based. Many thanks for your help and for the amazing video! :)

So this whole thing is done in fusion? All the assets are made in fusion, modelled etc? Wow , where can you download assets to practice with?

No fusion is for composition not for modelling

@@Filmitvfxstudios What’s the best for modelling? My 26yr old son is wanting to be a video editor/vfx etc and we have Fusion. He’s thinking blender? Seen others but just crazy money.

I would say start with Blender as it’s open source and free and extremely powerful

How you compare fusion with nuke in terms of functionality
@Filmitvfxstudios2 жыл бұрын
There both very similar but nuke is way more advanced and industry standard on vfx but as fusion is way cheaper it’s becoming very much as big as nuke , it’s abit like maya and blender

Dude.. I mean, what computer specs do you use? I'd comp'ing 3 x 3D Image Plane with 4k photo and my Fusion is already laggy as nuts (and sometime force close). I know i use an old i5 3470 with 1060, but this mechine still runs pretty fine with Blender (3D Viewport that consist of 3 x 4K image plane or 400k poly count). Am i missing something or compositing require more resources than 3D modeling?

The cpu is what’s causing you problems more cores the better the cpu is really no good for fusion

This is very impressive obviously. However, the same can theoretically be achieved in other packages like AE with the right knowledge and equipment to support the footage load. Clearly, Fusion was made specifically to do large bits of complicated greenscreen comps and live footage blending in ways AE and other packages can't compete with, on a large scale. I don't have a need for this depth of compositing so far, so I've not tried to learn Fusion yet. AE still serves all my needs quite sufficiently. Fusion looks great though.

AE is a motion graphics software that can do a some compositing. Just like Nuke is a compositing software that can do some motion graphics.

Well Fusion is free. Once you know it, it's an amazing tool for both mograph and compositing. After a week on a real job with Fusion I was able to switch over completely, after twenty years of using AE. The same thing that make it a great compositor on large scale projects is why it's so elegant for mograph.
@overnightclassic25 жыл бұрын
No you can't do this in AE. They are doing all the water renders in fusion as well as the fog which is volumetric.
@ZAGON1175 жыл бұрын
um.....why did you feel the need to say this as tho your trying to convince yourself fusion isnt as good as AE? Why compare the 2? its like blender vs resolve

@@Filmitvfxstudios is it really the best place to learn Fusion? They have five tutorials I think, and frankly they're poop. There are a handful of people who know what they're doing on KZbin, but in general there is very little out there for learning Fusion. I love the software and have even created a tutorial myself, but we need much more!
