I quit watching the news about 35 yrs ago and it was life changing. More so now than ever w all the BS, arguing, divisiveness, etc. i also am mindful every moment of my day. I know its all we are guaranteed - this very moment. The other monumental thing I do is live from gratitude. I am off to shower and am grateful that I have hot water, running water at my disposal - so many people worldwide don’t. I have had hard times when I didn’t know where my next meal was coming from so when I eat, I am immensely grateful for the meal and my full fridge. Susan is right - no negative self talk. Talk to yourself like you would your best friend when she is down. You made it this far in life, overcoming God knows what. And deep breathe 5x every hour. Takes us out of flight or fight mode. I suffered from anxiety from age 15. That's when my dad was transferred from Buffalo to Rochester & I had to leave behind family, friends, school & church. I don't accept change well. I am very family based. In my early 20s I was addicted to tranquilizers & they didn't really help. My help came when I renewed my relationship with Jesus Christ. They talk about that peace that goes beyond all understanding, it's true & hard to explain. I occasionally worry & fear, but it's different now, cause it doesn't last. I turn it over to Him, who's in control. I still have the occasional pity party, but I won't allow it to go past 24 hours. I love your fashion shows & you look so stunning in everything. Love seeing fall in your videos. It reminds me of home. Love you & Desi, see you next week.❤❤🐾🐾

I started having anxiety by age 5. But didn't know that's what it was. My dear Daddy teased me from time to time by calling me "worry wort." He didn't mean to hurt my feelings, tho. I think people who tend to suffer from anxiety are wired to be susceptible to anxiety and can use their experience to help others feel more seen and understood. 😊

I was actually diagnosed with anxiety disorder in my early 30’s I’m now 68 and it has been a ride. I have learned that many times I can help my levels of anxiety by a few different things. Breathing, prayer, singing out loud, etc. I’ve watched you for about 5 years now each Saturday or Sunday, but never said a word until today. You bring a sense of calmness, and I’m certain you’ve been told that many times over. I too have been told that all though for the life of me I never got that?! Maybe it is a vibe that others who also suffer for anxiety and or depression pick up on honestly I don’t know why. You take care, and have a good week ahead. ❤

Today I went to my local library that had their 1st "Cat Cafe." They had carafes of coffee and time slots to visit with 12 adoptable 😺. I told them I was just "window shopping." Which I was. I got to sit in a pen and have 3 kittens to play with. One of them, a black, fuzz ball, was adopted by a lady who hadn't had a cat in 20 years. It was so calming just to sit and watch them play. 5 outta the 12 were adopted in less than 2 hours. I also got some books from the discard shelf after the "cafe" was closed. Doing something different, or volunteering (if you're able) or having/borrowing a pet, or getting some books 📚 can elevate and reset your 'tude & mood for the better.❤

A few things that work for me (living-alone senior): 1. Once a month, I pick a recipe from a different country, make the food, and watch a KZbin travel video of that country (or listen to music from the country) This month, it was Greece. 2. At least once a month, I have a Comedy Night with KZbin videos, and go to bed laughing. 3. I have set up Half Day Adventures, and do at least one a month. i go to a walkable district with interesting architecture, shops, museum, galleries, etc. I leave after the morning rush to work and start for home by 3:30 p.m., avoiding the other rush. 4. I find volunteer opportunities that fit my interests and abilities, and that don't tie me to a long-term fixed schedule . In my community, there are festivals, charity events, and other operations that LOVE enthusiastic daytime volunteers. As the novel and movie character "Auntie Mame" said, "Life is a banquet; and most poor suckers are starving to death!" Wishing everyone a happy place at the table...........

Hey Suze, I love all of your videos, but this one had a very powerful message: no negative self talk! It tears us down, sabotages our plans and is very unattractive to others. We need to be our own number one advocate. The other thing you said, about changing up your environment, when I started traveling by myself, (especially to New York City), I triggered a self-empowerment like I have never known - over the age of 70! There is so much to see and do in life and the only thing holding most of us back is our own self-doubt. I had debilitating panic attacks throughout my 20s, and I finally cured them for life with meditation and focused breathing. Also, reciting the 23rd Psalm, even though I am not really religious.

What I find lately, is during the day I ask myself is today the day I leave this world? I have so much to learn and experience plus I mentioned to you before I’m raising my great niece and I need to be around to love and WANT TO STOP THINKING OF THAT. It scares me and for a short time it paralyzes me. I don’t want that, feeling blessed and showing gratitude is key for me. We😅 must be kind to ourselves. Susan, you look really cute in your clothes, do some more "get ready with me" and "clothes hauls" thanks! When you were talking about the bench, I was reminded of an old Bible that I found while I was clearing out one of my rooms this week. It was a Bible that belonged to my grandmother's people who lived in New York. The Bible was published in 1818 and one of my grandmother's relatives evidently bought it around 1853, there were dates and names in the Bible around that time. I could make out the dates but not the names that well. But as I held that Bible, I wondered who held and read it, what were they like. What were their fears, or what made them happy. Did they struggle or were they ok financially. It felt really good to hold it. Have a great week! And whoever reads this, please vote early if you can! 💕

Anxiety is so real to me, my son who is 40 has 3 life threatening heart surgeries and now my daughter is having some very serious health issues. My anxiety is f the chart. But I am so grateful every Saturday I know I will see a video from you and you always make me so calm. Thank you so much for being real with your anxiety ❤

You, Susan (along with Desi) was a 'brightening' lift to my morning sunshine in your video🌞. I hope you have a bunch of real good vibes today amongst the twists & turns of life's walking path. Sometimes it can be hum drum & then 'one glance' of something different can give a possible distraction of betterment (but not always) 🤞. ☮️✌️

Thank you Susan for your fashion show on the cat walk, I am not very good with dressing up, I never have been, having love for ourselves is the key, something I’ve not grown up with. However I’m learning, it’s a little late but worth a try.

Three years ago I saw a new doctor and the first thing she did was put me on vitamin D and vitamiin B12 and I feel so much better. Susan, you are so right about taking care of yourself with these two vitamins. Those clothes looked so gorgous on you. I loved the red sweater and tweed pants. I think Michigan would be a great place to live. I love the cool mild temperatures. Thank you and God Bless

I am new here and want to know more about all your fur babies, especially Desi. Was he a rescue? Just love his lil face and personally. I have had dogs all my life. My mom passed when I was 2yrs old and was raised with my middle brother by fosters, who were not very positive, ti say it as nicely as possible. So dogs and nature has always been very comforting. I had Doxies for over 50+ yrs. I now have a small mixed lil girl. I am 76 and really relate to your channel. Thanks!

I started vitamin d3 and vitamin b within the last few months and what a difference! Im also going walking outside. I don't go fast. I just walk at a slow pace. But the extra vitamin d from the sun is making me feel even better yet. I also read the bible and pray. I know it keeps me centered. Great video. ❤

From the outside I appear to have it together. I moved recently to help my parents who are both 88 and are divorced so two homes to take care of. My friends have moved out of California during the awful Unnecessary shutdowns during Covid, I am single and have never been so isolated in my life. I have no anxiety, just severe sadness and disappointment that my life has diminished so drastically. I'm resigned to it I guess, I had no idea I was giving up my life.

Yes, I understand the feeling! At least your folks keeping you busy. I have no one, no family near. Feels like solidarity confinement for sure although I have not given up life! I went to thrift shop today just to get out of the house as a distraction and I found a few nice items for the winter months for a song! Thinking to join a senior club /facility and get with their many different schedules to meet new people and join their season outing activities. I am not very religious but I go to church to hang out with nice people for an hour or two, being active helps with sadness. I hope you can take time ( make time ) out from your schedule and go out to meet new friends and join activities especially when you feel sad and lonely. Don’t give up, please! Sending you hugs & well wishes…❤

Love love loved this video. You always look great in your outfits but your talk on anxiety was so helpful I take so many supplements and I know they help a lot. I’m 77 and I’ve experienced several mobility issues in the past 2 years starting with breaking my right foot in a freak accident. Oh that was the pits. But the great news is I discovered Utube when convalescing and so I discovered you👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️your hair got longer and it looks lovely. You’re lovely 😘
