Your work is great JC but knowing a lot of these players personally because I’ve worked with them I always say to myself “JC is missing a big piece here.” Here’s one time I will finally speak up. Young players in general in todays age have a hard time not playing early on especially lottery picks. No matter how we slice it, Young men who are barely legal and know their team used their highest pick on them can’t wrap their minds around not playing. NBA teams have no interest in explaining to guys why they aren’t playing either especially dudes like Borrega. Also the biggest piece of info missing here is James lost his Mentor during his Rookie season named Kashaun Hicks (RIP).This mentor is who identified him, took him to a trainer that then took him to the PSA Cardinals EYBL Program (Watch James Through the lens pre draft documentary his childhood trainer broke down the timeline). This mentor held him down during his meniscus injury. This mentor is who put up money for his Macduffie Tuition. You didn’t mention this at all JC. Picture Being 21 years old,not playing, achieve your dream and the 1st year u achieve it the number 1 person u think that made it happen outside of yourself Dies on you. 95% of humans who are that young but have access to any and everything and are going through all of that will do some dumb stuff. I think Bouknight can still revive his career and life. Charlotte just picked up his 3rd year team option. He’s 22 years old. It’s clear he can score in the league in the spurts we’ve seen. He’s gotta tighten up in all other areas like you’ve said and has to leave the liquor alone. Good luck to him and God bless his guy Mr.Hicks spirit 🙏
@LorenzowakefieldEllison Жыл бұрын
Speaking from experience, not playing mentally affects u in ways only players who experienced it can explain and liquor affects u physically as well as mentally in the same fashion…the worst thing a young hopper can do is attempt drinking away the pain and frustration if u kno this young man or any for that matter who is starting this habit a full court press to stop that train is the only response to stop him from permanently adopting this way of coping. Best of luck to u and him as well 😇👌
@MRBBALLMAN10 Жыл бұрын
@@LorenzowakefieldEllison Yea man, only players understand the mental gymnastics guys go through when they don’t play. It’s the first time they haven’t played in maybe half a decade or even longer if they were a middle school prodigy. Those dudes can’t take it, and I understand it. The thing is you can’t cope with liquor. You have to cope with the gym

I had to go to Charlotte last year to work...and in my free time went to some hornets games...I like this dude...he is crazy athletic...which surprised me...had handles and can shoot...I wanted to see him more...but he never got in...which I understand...I don't know what the hornets are doing. In between lamelo...rozier..hayward....and I think I'm missing another guard they played.. but too many guards and ball dominant players they have.. so I think it's going to be really hard for him to get a fair shake
@witchdoctor8132 жыл бұрын
With the amount of money that the NBA is paying in player contracts, I do not understand how these players continue to self destruct. Even some bench players are making 10-15 million. Miles Bridges was going to get about 100 million because he balled out last season. But he caught those charges. Smh

Dope Video JC, you should Al Jefferson next. He was a great player but was very underrated at the same time maybe because he had an "Old School" playstyle with great footwork that didn't fit with this new era of basketball. It was a disappointment he wasn't an All-Star at least once or got mentioned at all but at least he had a solid career playing 14 seasons 💯
@336legend62 жыл бұрын
Damn this was quick. Bouk will turn it around. As a hornets fan Borrego didn’t give him enough minutes. He was going crazy in the g league and he played well for the hornets when he got the opportunity last year. He just has to get his confidence. He played better these last two games.

Well I can see why you would make a vid on this considering everything that’s going on with him so early on. Honestly though I think it’s too early to call him out unless he does something that is very hard to redeem himself from. But we’ll see in another 3-4 years. On a side note what the hell is going on with that team. It always feels like something bad is happening off the court when people speak about the players.

I know the kid man, I know his family. I saw him grow up right in front of his grandmother's house in Manhattan. Everyday he would be playing with his friend, Anthony right in front of his parents. His parents are solid people and didn't raise him like this. I don't understand, is it the money and fame that's gone to his head? The kid was shielded from a rough environment. I want to see him do well because unlike other NBA players that I've never actually met, I saw this kid grow up right in front of my eyes so it hits different.
@EsauistheCaucasian2 жыл бұрын
Same here. I knew James since he was a kid too. I remember always laughing when he would say he was from Crown Heights. James didn't "grow up like that" AT ALL. I hope everything works itself out and he can display his talents to the world.
