The Ekko vs Jinx fight is so brilliant on many levels. The flashback not only highlights the tragedy of childhood friends in a showdown, but it shows how two very intelligent characters review the past differently. Jinx reviews her memories, remembers winning, and is confident she will win again. Ekko reviews his memories and figures out what he could have done differently. Both characters are very intelligent and good at engineering, but Ekko is clearly better at applying his intellect to the mechanics of the fight. Then the memories "rewind" to the present in a way that foreshadows Ekko's future powers he'll get after he builds a certain device, and we see whose analysis of the past was more productive. Then Ekko stops fighting because he remembers that she is a childhood friend, which she is able to exploit because even if he is better at tactics, she is more ruthless and less affected by empathy. All of that is communicated without a word of dialog.

Nice! But I don't think Jinx was exploiting Ekko's emotions on purpose. I think she was like a scared kid again as she thought she would get beaten to death. Then in a moment of lucidity she saw what she's become and the many people she's killed. How far from the happy kid she used to be. And so she basically tried to commit suicide, maybe partially to die while being seen as innocent Powder again by a friend. If she wanted Ekko dead, you'd think she would have stuck the grenade to him.

I remember I was super in impressed how they portrayed achilles with Brad Pitt. I saw Troy in theaters when it came out, and this was before Avengers and all that. I’m not sure if it was a lot of forced perspective or doubles but they really managed to make someone who’s somewhat short in real life seem huge. Very well done. Especially during that fight scene.

That Troy fight between Achilles and hector is one of my all time favorite for all the reasons he says, I know a sword or weapons choreographer would say a lot of the movements wouldn’t happen in an actual fight but it’s all apart of the story, Achilles is the greatest warrior/swordsmen of all time, part of the reason he even joined the war was to fight hector and prove it, but the emotion of hector killing his cousin just added to it, if your Achilles and your the best and you know it, you’re gona do moves that no one else would ever try

Just for the record the "back to reality" jump in the ekko vs jinx fight requires a little bit of background in the game. Ekko created a time traveling watch as a teen that allows him to retry his most dangerous activities. The reason jinx is so surprised is she should have won but ekko took the bullet then jumped back and countered. But besides that this video was exceptionally inspirational with the send off and I love you guys

Its so cool to hear these guys talk about Arcane in a story sense here. Hearing them talk about how deeply time is signified in Ekko without knowing that in the game this is based off of, his entire kit is based on going back in time to fix a mistake. Something Jinx was never able to do when she blew up the office. It also portrays the mental break in Jinx. When her younger self, Powder, shows up shes happy and smiles. Its her before she shattered and started talking to her explosives and guns. This whole show really does justice to the lore the game came up with in its 10 years of being alive and changing and molding into something amazing. And the best part? A lot of people don't realize theres more than just Piltover and Noxxas and Hextech. Theres an entire universe with over a hundred significant characters they can build this show with and I am SO EXCITED to see where it goes. Much love to the Corridor Crew and all that you guys do

Ekko's ult is a rewind, where he goes back ~3 seconds in placement on the map and hp. It has always been a cool ability in the game IMO. And the lore man, it used to be so extensive. When the game first came out every champion had a whole essay about them, almost like a DnD character, and they all entwined with each other and had their own worlds they came from. There's rivalries and siblings in the lore which actually comes out in voice lines and (usually) non-factor game enhancements. Vi and Cait, for instance, have an ego challenge when they see each other on opposite teams on who can catch (kill) the other one first.

Really loved the praise for the climactic fight scene from Sword of the Stranger! That whole fight was animated by one of the legends of the animation industry, Yutaka Nakamura. The fight from Troy was just so breathtaking. When I first saw it, I was a child yet I understood, that Achilles could have killed Hector at any time. But he had vengeance on his mind and wanted to play with the food. But later he was enough of an honourable warrior to give Hector's family his body back so they could mourn him. Such an emotional roller coaster. Edit: Just watched the fight again. I realised that fight also had 3 Acts. Act 1: Helmets away. Act 2: Swords out. Act 3: Shields off.

I would love to get insight into the production costs during Animators React. Apparently before Arcane, the most expensive episode of animated television produced was the Avatar finale for around $1 mil. Marketing subtracted, it's estimated that every episode of Arcane had a budget of roughly $8 million. Question is: do the nine-straight Annie award wins justify new heights of GoT-level spending in the animation industry? GoT was the thing that made studios say "we can spend movie budgets on TV", hopefully Arcane does the same for animators.

In the next episode of "stuntmen react" you should take a look at the amazing stunts of late Jean Paul Belmondo in favour of his memory. He is a legend of European cinema and quite renowned for being one of the first major action stars to perform almost all of his stunts and many of them are really impressive (even to the point of being ridiculous by today's standards; Tom Cruise or Jackie Chan of his time and place), so I really wish you would react to some of them. Especially since not that many people seem to be aware of his work nowadays outside of France. There is a neat little video entitled "Hommage à L'Acteur&Cascadeur Jean-Paul Belmondo by E.Delacour" on You Tube which is a highlight reel of most of his amazing stunts, if you want to get a taste. Fear Over the City (1975) - He walks on the roof of a real metro train as it goes through a tunnel. The Burglars (1971) - He jumps unto and hangs from a bus (a couple of them, in fact) during a car chase with busy traffic all around. At another point, a dump truck drops him from a very steep hill. That Man From Rio (1964) - Some crazy stunts at a construction site. He is suspended from a cable forty meters above the ground. The Animal (1977) - He drops from a helicopter onto a plane mid-flight and then stands on the plane as it flies away. The Guignolo (1980) - From a boat going at high speed he gets on a helicopter flying low above it (he had a thing for hanging from helicopters) And there are many more.
