Most don't follow the law and blame the motorist for their mistake. California law - "Travel at a speed that is no more than 10 MPH faster than other traffic - danger increases at higher speed differentials." He was certainly going over 10 MPH faster.

First of all, only idiots change lanes in busy traffic, and by the time the driver started turning, traffic had pretty much already gotten up to speed, so that driver had no reason to pull out in front of him, if he had simply looked in his mirror, he would've seen the bike. Just because you use your turn signals doesn't mean you can pull out in front of people

First guy was going too fast. Lane splitting law says to go no more than 10mph over flow of traffic. Seeing as traffic was stop and go he should’ve been going about 10-15mph but clearly he was going much faster.

@@yeoldchief7711 I looked up the law, and it doesn't specify. The CHP has specified no more than 10-15 over pending conditions, so ultimately it's up to the judge. Judge could say "You're doing 30-35 more than traffic around you, and that's reckless driving" -- assuming you survive the crash.
