They turned into exactly what they claimed to be against at the beginning of their career and a lot of their fans just continue make excuses for them. @3:01 - incredible musicianship? Are you deaf? Those old photos of him drenched in sweat, do you know what that really is? Cliff's rule was every time Lars missed a beat, he spat on him. He's not sweating , he's covered in Cliff's spit. They were actually going to fire him at the end of the Lightning tour and only changed their minds when he agreed to take lessons from the drummer in Artillery. That helped him get up to snuff for the Puppets album but on tour he started slacking big time. So they decided to fire him at the end of the Puppets tour and were actually courting Charlie Benante from Anthrax. That's why they took Anthrax out opening for them on the Puppets tour. Sadly, then Cliff was killed,. James responded by getting drunk and staying that way until around 2001, Kirk got coked up for a few years (to the point that he had to record the solos on Justice bar by bar), and while all that was going on Lars trademarked and copyrighted the name Metallica. He owns the name outright. That's the only reason he kept his job and the reason that he's the wealthiest member of the band despite the fact that James pretty much writes all of it. I'm not saying he's not a decent contributor to the songwriting, but being musicians, it's really frustrating for James and Kirk to work with a drummer that can't keep time and constantly misses the beat. Before digital recording and ProTools, it took an engineer of surgical skill with a razor blade and tape to splice his drums together in time. Just look at how much work the engineer had to do in the Year and a Half documentary.

At the LOAD Era, Lars alowed to be at himself to be so egocentrical and controversial by any means. Thats for sure; Lars always was and still is to be on that way. I asume that inside at the Justice Era, he started to be more egocentrical, but inside at the Black Album era; he was as like it as a rivet. But at the Load Era he Evolved at himself by any means. I listen to them 'till I'm 16, and saw them on stage in 84 in Belgium, I was so near that I can see the acnea on the face of James. They were about 20, and they were playing like professionnals and made a super show. I just say thank you to Metallica for all the pleasure they gave to me along my life, and there is no price for this.
