We rode down in the rain. Rode around in the rain Saturday. Got soaked in Sturgis. Waked to cafe in Rapid for supper. Rode 100 miles in the hills Sunday morning then home … still fun. We are 6 hours away so we will be back in a couple months. Sturgis busy is fun! But alone in September is awesome! Have fun!!!

Yep, I live in Allen Texas. It’s been very hot and very dry. We need some of this rain for sure. I’ve ridden the past couple Saturdays into the country and my 2002 Fatboy has run perfectly in the heat. No oil coolers…runs fine in 106 degree plus.

I just got home from the rally. My first time there. Was a good damn time! I can not believe how much it rained. I ended up getting no pictures at all of iron mountain road but i did get some great shots on wildlife loop. The bison herd was all up around the road, was freaking awesome. I was lookin for ya though!

I went to Sturgis and totally missed you. I did the Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse monument through a thunderstorm on Friday the 4th of August. It was fun but getting pelted with hail not thrilling.

I stayed at the Buffalo Chip a few years ago, and getting through the town of Sturgis was just horrible. Takes at least an hour or more, ant it was 100 degrees out. Stop and go traffic. I got second degree burns on my legs through my jeans from the heat from the engine. Finally got to the hills for a nice ride. When we came back to the Buffalo Chip, there was a line of people waiting to get in, and the pavement was so hot that it melted. So when you put your feet down, you get oil all over your shoes, then on your floorboards. That's the bad thing about staying at the Chip. Much better to stay anywhere west of Sturgis so that you don't have to go through the traffic jam that Sturgis is.

Not just horrible riders but a lot of riders that are disrespectful ( not knowing rider ethics) I’m Jim, I brought the Wall in that’s on freedom field. I’m a 28 year U.S. Army veteran. Been a subscriber since the Dyna days. Would love to just get a pic with you. I also love itchy boots, as the magply flies and Doodle on a motorcycle all you gals are great. Excuse the auto correct. Honestly, Sturgis as a bike person you want to say you did it,,,,but once is probably enough. With that said, best people in the world. A town 7000 that turns into a Huge conglomeration of respect, no mater there is no race, here but Damn I do have to agree. It seems you have a lot of older people who have retired and went and bought the biggest Harley they could with NO bike experience… it is absolutely scary. Not for me but for them. Jess..how many people I have helped getting out of the mud…I’m 58 been ridding for 40 years. To handle a big bike in the mud with street tires is a absolute BEAST of a challenge. Most of ole riders know… it’s not a bike day but the less?????? Seen it. Not good.

I was going to go to Sturgis but I had to come back to Texas from Milwaukee to get some scripts filled, I probably could have made it back but I'm not sure I could afford it and I'm still waiting on front suspension parts. I learned one thing from the Milwaukee trip and that was I needed to upgrade my suspension. I got the Legend Arc (?) for the rear and sadly I forgot what I got for the front on my 04 Road King. Thanks for the vids though makes me wish I would have made it.

It's not the first time they seen rain like that, I have been there 5 times, and we used to get pouring rain hail and unbelievable wind at 7 pm. Almost out every night. Look back when Airosmith was at the chip..

But we had a storm in 2015, the wind was blowing 30+ mph, and raining so hard you could hardly see and riding down the road with the wind blowing you over. We were riding leaning over from the wind, could hardly see from the pouring rain, at the top speed of 15/20 mph. It wasn't bad last year, didn't make it this year. This was our first Sturgis! 2 miles from home had the tarp fly off the bike on the trailer. We were trailering, even though I'm no fair weather rider I wasn't going to ride 9 hours in storms and rain! Tarp wouldn't stay on, so I decided I'd just trailer without it. Then got a flat, it was a borrowed trailer without a spare so I felt bad on top of having to take the bike back home. We made the trip instead in the truck, and Sturgis has some good vibes. I don't like the prices, and experienced quite a bit of rude people. Some places even felt like get your stuff, pay the money and get out (not just in Sturgis). The fellow bikers at the hotel were nice though, as is the norm. We might try it again next year, on the bike hopefully. The rain really sucked this year, and maybe we'll be able to stay longer next year as well.

Herd the Jeckyl And Hide exhaust the cable end up breaking and they will not warranty it. Then i sent them a message if you where given a fine because of the way the law is written here where im at never got an answer. Its supposed to be legal here but not if they apply the law by the book. If they claim legal i want it on paper and they pay the lawyers not me. No answer so i guess its legal till you get pulled over.
