You have no idea how long I have waited, for a truly realistic, re-creation of the Intrepid class vessel, from Star Trek Voyager. CBS has 0-interest in doing it themselves, and they have even gone so far as, to put the cobosh on a team, that were working on it previously. I assumed that the project was permanently dead. I am happy that someone has taken up the torch, because I really need this game like yesterday lol. You are doing an amazing job, I am loving every minute of it, and I can't wait to see more!

@@purefoldnz3070 FPFT.... You're impressed.... by the reset of the week, poor decisions, idiotic plots? ... I'll be insulting here but that's just the dumbest take I've read today. Voyager, was flawed like hell and it always played it safe rather than take chances. Voyager is a good show to put on, and just turn your brain off. Background noise it excels as. It's wonderfully pleasant like that. And yes, it is a good watch too most of the time. But once you start to seriously look at it... It's painfully obvious how flawed it is. If you got a problem with modern Trek: STOP WATCHING DISCOVERY AND PICARD BECAUSE THEY ARE SHIIIT. Watch Prodigy because it's excellent and watch Lower Decks because it's fantastic. Then watch Kelvin Timeline movies and realize they're actually good, Enterprise because S3 and S4 is phenomenal. Rewatch TOS. But don't sit here, and proclaim Voyager to be a paragon of stories and writing because then I'll come by and say: THAT'S STUPID. Then make sure you watch Legacy of Kain because that's also phenomenal. I'm sorry if I come across aggressive, I don't mean to. It's just that shitting on modern Trek and praising Voyager is like slapping the horses ass while kissing the bull's. It's not as much of an improvement as you think.

I don't know why, but I always thought the mess hall and the captain's quarters were in opposite locations. It would have made more sense that the captain was closer to the bridge, and the larger space toward the middle of the ship would be more suitable for a common area. Also, I recall Cargo Bay 2 had an access hatch to space and would be closer to the edge of the hull. It was decompressed twice in the series. First was in 'Scorpion' and the other in 'The Omega Directive'. The former showed the hatch along the edge of the saucer on the port side, I think.
@ShadowwingMD6 ай бұрын
Cargo Bay 2 also felt a lot bigger in scorpion. But this is still awsome work here!
@d.b.46716 ай бұрын
Good point about Cargo Bay 2; a "bay", by definition, is a ship compartment with direct access to the exterior of the ship (see also Shuttlebay). What's depicted here seems to be a cargo hold, which doesn't have exterior access. (And in case anyone asks, sickbay is an exception to the rule; it used to be a bay compartment on naval ships, but it generally isn't anymore.)

The more I watch this, the more I lose hope that it would ever be able to run on my Steamdeck haha Also, I wonder why they designed the steps in the transporter rooms to break your ankles lol I feel sorry for the aliens who spend their first seconds in a human-designed environment and get their feet lodged in those gaps. I had a random idea. I’m sure it would be difficult for 1 person to think of how to personalise all the quarters of the unknown crewmembers. So maybe it could be delegated to the community somehow. There could be a tier who get to suggest a few items to go in one of the crew quarters, maybe even providing their own 3d models. That way, the people who are really passionate about this could leave their personal touch on the project in a small way.

Interesting that you decided to put a second shuttlebay with Neelix’s ship underneath. In the show, we see the warp core being ejected from the ventral hatch that’s closest to the aft of the ship. Surely that causes a conflict where that shuttlebay and main engineering would intersect.
@DanielBrainboxАй бұрын
Well, yes, that's true-I had to reconfigure Voyager's space to make everything fit. As you can see, the Delta Flyer takes up a lot of space, as do the other shuttles. There simply isn’t enough room for the Baxial (Neelix's shuttle). The show often used tricks, like shrinking the Delta Flyer to the size of a Type-9 shuttle just to make it fit through the main gate. My goal is to stay as close to the show as possible, but there's no perfect way to resolve all the inconsistencies.
@seseseseseseseseseseseАй бұрын
@@DanielBrainbox Ah, that’s understandable. I can see that there would be many things that conflict. Another thing that comes to mind is the section of corridor in the show near Janeway’s quarters that appears to have an extremely high ceiling that would not fit within the hull. It’s the part where the wall has vertical slats instead of the usual horizontal slats (I don’t know if you’ll even decide to include that corridor wall design, since it doesn’t appear anywhere else on the ship lol). Also, on deck 1, I noticed that you had to awkwardly squeeze an unusually narrow corridor between the escape pods and the edge of the hull because there are windows there on the exterior. In these dilemmas, whatever you decide, people are probably going to argue either way. I guess we have to accept the fact that the way some things appear in the show is simply impossible. Anyway, by the looks of it, we can trust your judgement to figure out the right compromises!
@seseseseseseseseseseseАй бұрын
@@DanielBrainbox In season 6, episode 8 (One Small Step), they apparently say they launched the Delta Flyer from “shuttlebay 2”. So that seems to confirm your layout at least slightly. A second shuttlebay exists. I’m also reminded of the Voyager 2 in Prodigy, which had 2 (publicly known) shuttlebays. But, that’s basically a completely different ship, so I guess that doesn‘t confirm anything.
