Yup me n Brother did the Demolition finisher on kids at school and in are neighborhood too, it was at Chalmers elementary in grade 5, I jumped off the corner of the fence and drove my elbow in that poor kids chest so hard he was bruised n hurt, I had to write a n opology note to the kid and his parents. Then in our neighborhood we did the LEGION OF DOOM move but the kid wouldn't let go of my brothers hair cuz he didn't want to, well u know, do a 360 on the Grass lol. Great times!!!

The Road Warriors look was obviously based more on the character Wez from Mad Max 2. 14:15 Demolition's chest harnesses (and their hockey masks) came from the character of Humungous from the film Mad Max 2 The Road Warrior (The Road Warrioris' look came from the character of Wez). The Costume designer on the film Norma Moriceau spent the 1970s in London hanging around Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood's SEX shop that spawned the Sex Pistols' band. Many of the shop's designs were inpired by underground fetish wear from the gay s/m secen such as chest harnesses. Moriceau used this for her film and got the idea ripped off her in turn by the whole of pop culture including the WWF. And that is how Demolition ended up wearing gay S&M chest harnesses - albeit made of cloth, not leather.

IMO, Demolition were definitely not Road Warrior rip offs. Some similarity but many differences. Bruce mentioned it, Powers of Pain were pretty much Road Warrior rip offs. The difference being Demolition were successful and PoP were...just kind of there. One thing tho, had the road warriors come into to the wwf in 88 or 89, not sure demolition would have had the extended babyface push they got. Demolition were unlike any other team in wwf, but with the road warriors there, it might have been seen as too similar.
