I don’t get the people who complain! I redecorate really often. It really helps to make yourself feel refreshed. It’s also funny because my roommate didn’t get it for a really long time s I’ve redecorated and rearranged so many times while we’ve lived together, but now she’s on that train too and redecorates her room frequently

Sophia Ramirez I disagree just because it is gonna be on a rug. So cute! I love all of your little plant babies. Be mindful of what you put on that shelf over your bed. In the event of an earthquake (however unlikely, they still happen almost everywhere at some point), having anything heavy over your bed can be incredibly dangerous. Even adding a thin little railing to keep stuff for jumping off the edge can be helpful. Just coming from someone who lived in California as a child and had earthquake drills at school and at home.

The butcher wood wouldn't be better on top of the ikea unit?
@LunguAML
@LunguAML 5 жыл бұрын
This gives her more space. Instead of using the Ikea unit to chop things on, it can now store bigger bowls or the ingredients she's gonna use when cooking. It's a great idea imo.

Kelsey you're such an inspiration! I'm moving into an apartment here soon, it's pretty small and you gave me a lot of good ideas for styling it. It'll be my first time really being "alone" like without my family and without a boyfriend, and it's refreshing to see a strong, independent lady who can do all of this on her own. I definitely wanna see updates and small videos about what you change or add in your apartment!!

pig_ebank I live in Sweden, the home of Ikea. And I have never seen people drink from cups in a store, especially not clothing stores. Maybe if you have a water/soda bottle it's okey. It's just a unwritten rule most of the time. But some stores do have signs on the door showing its not allowed to drink or eat there.

If that were my apartment I would have completely arranged the furniture differently. A small table with two chairs in the window nook and the tv where that big mirror is with the couch a-crossed from it would flow really nice. The layout you have it in is very odd to me. My eye goes straight to the weird placement of the tv when you walk in. The wall looks great painted gray but it needs some artwork with pop of color. The TV is not a good focal point.

Exactly! Why would you want to face the kitchen and your back to the window when sitting on a sofa? And then crane your neck to see the tv?! She’s going to regret that really soon. Your layout is exactly what I would have done 👏

Marit H, is that supposed to be a snarky remark? 😂 You’re just stating the obvious. I just think she could have used the space better. No harm in expressing that at all. I run my own business for organization and interior design so I always see how I would have done something differently.
@marithogervorst15
@marithogervorst15 5 жыл бұрын
Your last answer is a lot nicer. She 'could' do it different indeed. But your first comment just sounds rude to me, it's her appartment after all. That's all, no harm in my comment!

Good points, but it may have been more of a necessity than anything. Judging by the windows and other details like trim and door frames, it looks like she's renting an apartment in one of the older style homes in the Toronto area. It's possible that the wall with the big mirror is simply not strong enough (or even wide enough) to mount her tv on. The exterior walls in older homes tend to be sturdier than the interior walls, and the wall looks v thin to me. I also personally disagree about the flow. I think your idea would look awesome in a slightly larger space, and it would certainly help divide the room into separate "spaces," but a dark sofa a-crossed through that room could make it awkward to walk given the footprint.
