I did an ult with Pharah from under there while defending. The Payload was on the other side of the curve. Gets you right on top of them for a close range wipe-out.

I love these videos mostly because they provide good comments to see what others are thinking and what other people haven't realized yet. For me this is a must start as reaper map because during prep you hide behind the wall for cover on the top exit for attackers. Teleport behind the cover on the hotel balcony then run/wraith form into the hotel depending on the situation. Use the back alley and if no one is there tp onto the back hotel balcony. If there is a widowmaker there you can just wraith form into the side entrance easily. Once you are back there in the fairly tight areas picking people off from behind is fairly easy.

For that hole you can pass under with the final point, I have found it handy for surprise ult on the Defending team with D.Va or Pharah.

I've noticed that each map seems to be based around one characters strengths, this one being the setting for the "Alive" short, has a TON of locations for Widowmaker and essentially caters to her playstyle. It also has a ton of routes for Tracer to jump through for flanking and countering WM as well. Numbani has a large deal of hallways and alcoves that Symmetra can put her sentries up in, giving her a strength on that map. This kinda thing carries out on a good deal of maps.

Majority of maps favor the heroes who origin from them; Pharah - Temple of Anubis, Mei - Lijiang Tower, McCree - Hollywood, etc.

Flying under the map at the final point as Pharah and popping your ult is a good way to catch either team off guard. Managed to get three people on the payload doing so.

you can get Bastion up there you have Mei place her wall underneath him to lift him up to the lip. Talking about the beginning area you are talking about at 1:48.

At the Attacker's spawn, Mei can lift Reinhardt all the way to the top-most exit (along with any other character). This will allow the Attacker to counter snipe (with a Bastion) from safety. Once the Defenders clear off, the Attackers can jump back down to switch Heroes quickly.

I did not know about that elevated area by the spawn! I am gonna so try an ambush there - although most likely it will fail, like pushing people off as Lucio on Volskaya left spawn door.

Map Tips to add. The defenders 1st spawn point (Subway) becomes accessible if you activate the payload as the offensive team. You can use this to get flanking shots down on the defending team. At 5:45 you can see one of the subway spawn doors, this is the position where a flanking attacker could get behind the enemy team if the payload stalls there.

that part where you can under the map.... I was on the defending team and most of us were kind of around the payload, which was almost at the end game. A pharah on the attacking team goes under the map and uses her shift to pop out really fast and proceeded to rain justice on us all.

I did that earlier on the Xbox, but I was pretty much experimenting. It's quite easy to do with Pharah mind you. I imagine D.Va would be good to do it with too.

On defense I like to grapple onto the statue's head and just stand there for a while. Not many look up there, (nobody looks up in video games :P) and you can get a kill or two but have to drop down once people realize you're there.

You can avoid the game starting like that if you turn on the skirmish setting in the custom game options, that gives you 30 minutes to fly around.

What are your thoughts on widowmaker? I always struggle to push through a choke when a widowmaker is aaall the way behind thier lines. Tips to counter that aren't another widowmaker?

I've personally been finding D.Va to be a great counter to her actually, if you play her correctly at least, especially if the Widow is not positioned next to any of her teammates. Just abuse her boosters and defense matrix to circumvent the enemy team and charge headlong into the Widow's face where she can't do crap against you at that point and is more or less screwed without the assistance of her team as she can't escape you either.

Your best bet is a Reinhardt. Just keep behind the shield. Also, it's always good to have a mobile flanker for these cases; pick Tracer, Genji or Reaper (or have a teammate pick one up), and get behind enemy lines. You will have an easy time disposing of a lone Widowmaker and afterwards you can backstab the enemy team by taking out their supports etc.

Genji takes some getting used to but if you know where she is you can be the only one in her sights then time a deflect back. Usually they shoot enough to kill you before they realize you deflected which should always be enough to kill them and if it isn''t a shuriken should finish her off after a full power snipe.
