@@Hexmeta It sounds to me like a fresh account with fresh placements, and fresh MMR/SR made it a lot easier for you to place where you should be. There's nearly no real need to "climb" on a fresh account, they place you where you should be immediately, so maybe don't invalidate the experiences of others :) As a support main myself, it is extremely difficult to climb when you're almost always solo healing, or no one is in voice chat, or no one puts pressure on the flanker in your back line that keeps killing you, then asks for healing while you're taking a 30 second walk back from spawn, and then complains that you weren't healing enough. Doesn't matter what support you play, carrying the team is very unlikely, so if they don't pull their weight, it's extremely frustrating to have to eat a loss and lose SR when you have consistent stats (coupled with a gold medal for 2 elims because your dps weren't doing their job apparently).

Not saying these are super meta, pro tips that Sty would endorse at a GM level, but some things that helped me climb from middle of gold to upper diamond, if the dude playing mercy (or anyone else) is checking out the comments of this video: -boosting junkrat wont boost the damage of his tire unfortunately, but you can boost D.Va bombs, dragon blades, high noon, dragonstrike, coalescence and maybe pulse bombs -instead of walking around, try using GA to just fly all over the point and be a zooming f’ing nuisance -also try to use the momentum conservation to gain some height for yourself. surprisingly you can pop yourself up into the air and get a nice vantage of the point sometimes. You have to kind of jump right as her GA is finishing, its tricky, but try it out in the practice range -if everyone is full health on your team, find someone to damage boost!! -don’t be afraid to pop valk if a fight is looking M E S S Y, it cleans things up pretty nicely when youre dropping team-wide heals -if people are critical and far away, (like that insane winston) instead of putting yourself in danger, tell him to jump back to you for heals -When using valk, if everyones full, damage booooost the team -Damage boost heroes who have sent out/are about to do spike damage, good examples are alt-firing Zens, firestriking Reins, Roadhogs who have connected with Hooks, Reins who’ve landed charges... you get the idea, look for split seconds to maximize damage which wont really take away too much from your healing. Usually you can get more Hero Damage done than your stat line will imply ;) -Sty is right, if you aren’t flying and zooming all over the place, you can easily stand behind walls where your team is grouped up and safely heal/boost them, save lives by valuing your own -if youre going to pull out the pistol, aim for the god damn head, you can actually secretly shred 200 hp heroes if you strafe and hit headshots -Orisa’s Supercharger + Valkyrie Damage Boost creates a nutworthy team wipe -Try to anticipate teammates taking big damage spikes, if junkrat is lobbing in shots, preheal the people closest to the bombs, if rein is staring down a firestrike, toss your beam on him -SHOW THE OTHER SUPPORTS SOME LOVE, you did good on Zen in this video, but it makes your job so much easier if your other healer is alive to take a little bit of your load off -believe it or not, target priority is a thing when healing, personally ill always prioritize someone else at critical health over a D.Va because she has another life basically, or a roadhog because he can heal 300 in one go. #SaveSquishies2018 -Dont enable awful flanks and overaggression by healing/boosting people -Absolutely enable Zaryas with 100 charge. Just stick your beam on them and keep them alive because charged Zaryas win games -Look to get every hitpoint of healing you can, every single one. You let a roadhog go while he was missing about 150-200 health in this game, yeah fine he might use Take a Breather, but maybe it was om cooldown and that was a free 10-15% of your next valkyrie. Same goes for people with shields like Zen and Zarya, heal those shields instead of letting them recharge -At one point on defense you were healing rein from across the point while waiting for the enemy to attack. You were on the left and he was on the right and you put your beam across. At higher levels people will know that you’re there, split up from your big shield. In situations like that try not to expose your beam, its kind of noticeable -As you climb ranks, DPS will start saving their ults JUST FOR YOU (how sweet of them). Soldiers will Visor and McCrees will Deadeye as soon as you pop valk, and Genjis and Junkrats will actually just hunt you down with Blade and Tire. If you can direct the fight to take these people down quickly, youll actually survive to heal the team (like Sty said, tracking ults is especially helpful here, even if its just a loose tracking. things like “genji hasnt bladed in two fights, he must have blade” or “wow the enemy Rein is about 3 inches from my face hes probably looking to earthshatter on my god damn head” or “Reaper is standing on a suspicious pipe 10 feet above the team that i didnt know existed until I saw him crouched there, hes probably about to press Q and team wipe us” Being aware of things like that not only helps you position yourself, but if you communicate it to your team, they can prepare also -The payload wont protect you from Earthshatter (I instinctively run behind the payload every time, and every time yet it still catches me) -Don’t be afraid to tell your team “we won this fight, no more ultimates” hope someone finds this helpful

Yeah they do, damage boosts aren't capped at 50%, only Damage resistance is. So if you Damage boost someone who is nano boosted while a supercharger is out and they shoot someone with a discord orb? yeah they can kiss their life goodbye Damage boost not stacking is a misconception

I'm a mercy main and this all seems generally quite good The only two things I'd like to add on though; For the love of goat, learn to mercy slingshot, and learn to cancel your guardian angel And when using ressurect, either spin or look down to make your head hitbox harder to hit, making it easier to stay alive :)

Dva doesn’t have “another life”. I’d rather jump off the map and die rather than be playing as baby dva. It takes longer for you to have value if you’re not doing anything as baby dva, and in higher elo better players will stagger baby dva to stop their push. Keep your dva alive. Just because she has 600HP doesn’t make her unimportant. Dva is super effect, but if she loses her mech it’s a waste of time. Let your second healer heal the squishies in this case Zen since they have lower HP and he has lower heals. You will heal tanks much quicker and once they’re healed you can move on the heal or damage boost another teammate.

Don't surprise by the communication of peoples in silver. I myself climbed up from silver to master. I can definitely say that in silver I had much better time playing. They were a lot of nice peoples, everyone just want to be friend. I also have a lot of friends that we played together back in silver. Honestly, i am really regret that I am a master now. in plat and above, it is really toxic, everybody just blaming, flaming and insulting each other.

Harvey Roper I put in 45ish hours into season seven and got to 3180 starting from 2479. This season I've been hovering around 3100 and yesterday got to 3260 and dropped because of a thrower and me being tilted. To get out of plat, keep your cool and try to solo queue a lot

The Mercy pulling out the pistol at the end was the absolutely right thing to do. If he didn't get the kill on pilot D.va they could've have lost that round. Not sure what Sty has against battle Mercy.

It was the wrong thing to do, the whole of the team was there, they could easily have killed her and then zen would not have been killed, which lost the Rez and then the rein died. They are luck they won that but battle mercy is the worst thing to see on your team. I think this was the scenario you were talking about.

The instances were is appropriate to use pistol is when there is an easy kill that is overlooked by your team. That baby D.Va was killed by mercy just before calling her mech. The team would have had to deal with her full hp. This was an adequate albeit risky play that happened to pay off. The better play would have been to GA away and heal the team of course. But this was not bad really.

I have been playing mercy for quite a bit and I think I can build on top of sty's suggestions: 1. overhealing just like sty said, try to minimize down time. 2. the mercy is not using the full range of the beam, he is always 2 steps too close, almost felt like a moria range. He knows about taking cover while healing but due to the "short range" he kept peaking out. He needs to relearn the range. 3. I notice the mercy is not looking around. His screen is VERY fixated on his healing target. This mean he is getting a lot less information he could easily obtain. Mercy beam does not disconnect even if look away, exploit this to take a look at the surrounding everytime starting a heal. Good example would be 6:03, 10:25. I'd kept healing but instead look top right where the rocket is coming from. This might have something to do with the low control sensitivity(is this console? it feels console), might because it will be hard to do quick looks and re-center the view on heal target? [4]. Despite what sty says, i think using the pistol to kill the DVA is the best bet, because he knows his whole team just run past him into the tunnel and there will be no guardian target.

Kuzu Also more of a general healer tip but definitely important to mercy is to not be afraid to stop healing a tank to heal a squishy a little bit so he’s not one hit then go back to the tank. since she has fast, consistent heals you can juggle healing two people at around the same time usually

Sounds likely, but there are players down here who think they’re the coolest, too. Earlier the same day of this game I had a match with a three stack of kids who were obviously too young for overwatch. Our comp was 5 dps and me, the Mercy. They all blamed me for the loss. The match in the video is common, but so are those other painful ones.

The Mercy did the right thing killing the dva, the whole team was left side in the room. Sty seriously, you have no idea when to pull your gun out as a mercy player. If he hadn't, and dva had gotten her mech back, the team would have lost that fight.

Yeah, I could have healed the team, but the Dva had just used her bomb and was an easy kill that my team was ignoring. I used the pistol to try and kill her before she got mech back, and it worked. However The other two times I used the pistol weren’t great. On the initial push, Sty was right; I let the Zen die and wasted the res, but the second time I was trying to get the ulting Mercy in my face and missed the button and didn’t get my pistol in time. So, I’ve still gotta work on that.

Kuzu great kill on the dva, I would have done the same even with how low you were. Balance is the Biggest part of Mercy's kit and learning when to shoot and when not to shoot, you got potiental just keep working on your game sense and heal balancing and you'll be good. ^ ^

Sty basically was yelling no everytime she pulled out her gun but truth is low ranks act like you goosed them when you pull your gun on them as Mercy I s2g they forget she has it. Plus having healing AND elims as Mercy ranks up faster, I finally got from bronze to silver by balancing my healing and damage output during my placements.

Pretty sure the player was testing to see if they could GA back up to the platform based on the teams position. He intentionally jumped off that ledge and tried to GA back up, essentially giving himself cover and then popping back up to heal again. You should always do this at the beginning of matches so you understand where you can fly around too.

stormy steak is kind of right here, but not entirely. I was practicing using my GA prefers beam target. It’s super useful, say, when the enemy is using dive and there’s a cliff, so what you can do is hang off the cliff and ga above the cliff every so often to keep the beam connected. But of course, I did screw it up. I was actually kind of embarrassed that I screwed it up twice.

I personally agree with the nerf as a whole, the only thing that I think could be changed is making the res in her ult instant. That’s it, keeping that one thing as the point of valk is to enhance her suit, she has the enhancements of being able to fly and heal/damage boost multiple targets but res isn’t being enhanced in anyway now, that’s why I think it should still be instant.

A BIG tip I can give to Mercy players is predict who’s going to take damage before it’s dealt. Right when you know the enemy team is going to engage, start healing your teammate who’s poking out and in the line of fire. I do this a lot swapping between tanks or a soldier. It helps so so much to mitigate damage before its dealt so you’re not always playing the catch up game.

You can't boost tire, but you can boost dva bomb. You can tell because mercy doesn't show up in the kill feed for a tire kill (but does for dva) because she didn't affect the kill at all.

A good tip most people probably know for mercy is to jump at the end of your guardian angel and you will do a small hop. Gives great momentum and makes it even harder to hit you at times.

Something that I've noticed: he wasn't using the range of the beam correctly, he was always really close to his team in moments were it was better to be a little farther to not take damage (like phara spam on a choke). A lot of times is better to be at the max range of the beam to be safer. Maybe you can get closer with GA to be able to heal/damage boost someone but I'll inmdiatly get on the max range of the beam.

I feel like only mercy mains should coach mercy mains, I'm like 5 mins in and sty hasn't said a word about the awful lack of dmg boost, the bad beam management, the bad heal prioritisation and the not being beams length away, and possible lack of ga use. like great u told him well done for dmg boosting soldier, and said that they let zen die,,, but like..... what does that teach this player? you haven't mentioned any core mercy mechanics that he is clearly lacking. also why are you yabbiting about the comms? great its a an insane thing that's happening but our mercy player isn't using comms nor are you actually analysing the comms, you are just being excited about them? you should really learn how to coach and teach people before you start a series like this

Wolfsign I’ve been tracking ultimate usage since low silver and it helps me win games... so don’t talk about the “its too much fro them to think about”. Also, as a secondary Mercy (second most played with over 60 hours) main, I typically heal just about as much as that person does. If we need more damage and my team’s health is fine, I trust myself to deal more damage with the pistol than my team with damage boost. And I believe the mercy was using the comms. As for basic Mercy mechanics, they’ve got it down. They’re only what, level 220 from what we can tell with the portrait? In the beginning his career profile isn’t entirely Mercy. I don’t like Sty as much as some people on this site, but even I admit he did a good job coaching this Mercy.

I'm a gm mercy with almost 1000hrs and there are more important things for them to focus on than that, I'm not saying silver players cant, but this guy has a lot more issue that are higher prio than ult tracking, it is something more advanced if it came naturally to you great but if it doesn't then its not super important in silver. I climbed from gold myself so I'm not someone who this game came easy too, but bringing ur pistol out as mercy is rarely worth it if you can damage boost instead the exceptions being when ur tryna farm ult at key moments or you are being flanked and have no choice. also when I said beam management I meant, he didn't instantly dmg boost from the start of the fight he has periods of two or three seconds where he is not healing or dmg boosting he is spending a lot of time healing a full health target rather than someone who has taken poke or dmg boosting a guy next to him. stys coaching is usually fine when hes doing mid to high elo coaching but I don't think he knows what a mercy needs to priorities learning, I haven't finished the vod yet so I may amend my comment by the end. and I by no means blame the player for being not comfortable on mercy if that was the impression I gave then I didn't intend to.

Wolfsign I concede to the beam management when it came to damage boosting at the beginning of a fight. However, at lower ranks some DPS players that need to aim can’t aim for shit. I know this from experience (example: our tanks are dead and there’s a widow sniping us. Rest of the DPS can’t hit her for crap. I pull out my pistol and snipe her from a distance). Most of the mistakes I see him making are just small things he’ll develop a better sense for later. Also thanks for clarifying what impression you meant to give. That goes a long way

Damage boosting a Junkrat while he's using his ult DOES NOT increase the damage output of the tire as it's considered another object (like Torb and Sym turrets). When there's a lot of people stacked it's really hard to heal precisely and switch between them. So what you should've pointed out is that this person needs to adjust his "switch beam sensitivity" (i dont remember how it's called) because the problem wasnt pulling out the pistol but having difficulties to heal the good target. PS : Also that was really bad from rein to drop the shield (he should at least tell you to back to regen his shield)

I absolutely hate when people get on Mercys because they shoot at shit. In that baby D.Va situation, he/she could've flown to someone around the corner, but why would they do that? They can't see what's going on there. I would much rather die to something I can defend against, than fly into the unknown and die by something random happening. There was two seconds in between her bomb going off, and D.Va dying. Not much room to criticize there. No one is going to risk flying into a D.Va bomb. If anyone made a mistake there, it was the Zen. He was back at the main choke by himself instead of being with the team. If he's in a better position, the Mercy is safe and gets healing or they both just cut her down instantly.

Agreed. The DVA kill was pretty clutch and when you have low health like that the safest thing to do is stay behind cover. Dashing all over the place so a stray bullet can kill you is the wrong move. Punishing a DVA that used their ult and remechs in a poor position to give you a free kill without burning through 500 hp is the best thing to do.

WutTheDeuce its called aggressive Mercy playstyle, you engage with the team rather than hide and res/heal. Blizzard ignored these types of Mercy and they received a triple to quadruple performance boost from 2.1 changes. Also even with damage boost your team mates at this teir usually fails to hit stuff. So Mercy may pistol wipe to cover them

I 100% see your point, it makes sense and is a fine reaction to have. In fact I probably would have done the same but with the benefit of hindsight, The thing to remember is that stys advice is given from a far higher tier of play, It is fine to see that as a good opportunity but at higher tiers the benefit of keeping yourself alive far outweighs any possible benefit from that pistol. The enemies will have better accuracy, punish positioning harder and be better at capitalizing on the times mercy is not healing her team. It may be tempting but in a coordinated team with defined roles, it is always better to stick to the one you are in.

Mercy main - Imma disagree with you on toggle beam there - if you have it set so GA doesn't prefer beam target it can work, but if GA is preferring beam target (which I use to nope out of a situation if it turns out we got flanked or DPS overextended and I can't rez) toggle beam is gonna slow you down. I find it better to hold m1/m2 and release when i need to fly to a new target. if prefer beam is turned off I can't use GA out of LOS to avoid certain ults or if I get booped off a cliff but my beam target is not

When im playing mercy (basicaly every comp match) when i kepp getting closer to my ult I make sure to let my other healer get some ult charge so we have both support ults for the next big fight so my tip for playing support is make sure you dont take all the healing for yourself and give some ult charge to your other healer especialy when you already have your ult like mercy and zenyatta comps when im healing a person and zen puts his orb on them i switch to damage boost unless they are going to die that way i can get ult charge from the damage boost and zen can get some charge from healing

A real advice for every mercy player: go to options, control, on the upper right side choose mercy on the hero roll and toggle on her beam connection and toggle off her guardian angle prefers beam target. Her mobility is her 1# asset and those options relly restricting her. And in general everyone should play with heroes options to optimize their abilities to each player play style.

A bigger tip, Is putting guardian angel on hold rather than toggle. Every time you are in a team fight u should ALWAYS be guardian angel’ing as soon as it comes off cool down. If u are playing behind it then just tap it, it makes U a much harder target.

What I do for my settings is GA prefers beam target and I turn off beam toggle. This lets me do things like watch the fight while doing PharMercy without looking at the Pharah every two seconds. I also have GA on hold so if someone’s tracking me really well, or there’s a widow, I can just drop out of the sky and try to throw them of briefly.

Maybe you could play like that, but that’s a passive Mercy style. The Mercy here plays the aggressive style, in which the team becomes the Mercy’s cover. That’s why they were bouncing around from one end of the point to the other. Imagine trying to hit a mercy that was GAing at random in unpredictable directions all the way across the map. Sounds easy, until she’s right in your face, because then you fracture your shoulder trying to make a 180 degree turn if you want to hit her. So you are kind of right, but only for half of mercy players.

I’m level 300 with over 140 hours on mercy and I really don’t recommend this spot any sniper could see that your there and either kill you or get ult charge from you plus helix rockets and Phara this spot used to be good with mercy’s old ult but not anymore also if a D.va or something with burst damage comes in you’ll either die or quickly fly straight into the fight with low health but i have a really aggressive play style so maybe this is just me

Mistakes I see is that she doesn’t use the guardian angel bunnyhop, at 9:25 when her team was trying to get in that area what could’ve save her maybe is if she used the guardian angel jump. So instead of her landing at the doorway where pharah was spamming, she would’ve zipped past her teammates and be safe. his/her team are really good at communication. If she is going to pistol whip she should tell her team I’m going to cover fire or I’m not healing so don’t go too aggro. At 10:40 you can see the pharah on the right side. That was a good time to pistol whip since there was only one person contesting and it would be easy killing the pharah in valk. Then when it ended she should’ve got on top of the perch for a higher advantage in viewing where the enemies was coming as well as being safe. The person also has a problem with distancing themselves from their teammates. At 18:20 you were riding the roadhogs ass giving him heal/damage boost. With mercy you do not have to be soo close to your teammates. If that pharah was smart she should’ve killed you first. And because you were so close to your teammates, she could’ve wiped your whole team out. If the pharah was smart in order the negate her from wiping you and your teammates out, you keep your distance so that her ult usually only kills you. 24:32 don’t worry about pulling out your pistol and killing the D.Va. Stylosa doesn’t know what the fuck he’s talking about. Since your teammates was so close to you. You using guardian angel would’ve put you in that same spot, and the guardian angel bunnyhop boost would’ve been wonky. At 25:22 you shouldn’t have clumped up with all your teammates since riptire was out. Usually smart junkrats will solely take out the healers so always distance yourself from your teammates when enemies ult are used so that only you will die and not the rest of your team. That’s all that was really bad. Positioning and maintaining your distance from your teammates as well as prioritizing who should be getting heals and rezzing.

JjcSnake A couple of weeks after sty reviewed my gameplay here, I managed to just about reach plat (I’ve gotten a bit stuck, but I’ll climb again soon!). What I’ve seen on the way taught me something. Silver players don’t mind being in silver. Maybe it’s the whole mentality of “When you encounter your worst fear, then there is nothing left to scare you.” People in silver know they’re bad, so they’re all calm. But when I decided to leave silver, I found that my higher level teammates thought very little of each other. They look at the tab screen and see everyone else as bronze and themselves GM and thus refuse to listen to their team. The most important skill you can have in mid-ranks like gold, plat, and diamond (besides gamesense) is charisma. When you enter the game, no matter how tilted you are, always greet your team cheerfully. Tell jokes. If your teammates laugh, all anger simply vanishes. If someone decides to throw, don’t berate, but rather encourage every good thing, no matter how small (I’ve gotten a thrower on torb to actually start trying late into a match by doing this, and we managed to turn the game around at the last second, thanks to that player). If you can get your team to like you, they will listen without question.They will no longer see themselves as gm and you a bronze, but rather themselves a plat and you a diamond. This probably adds to why silvers are so talkative; They have no reason to despise their teammates, because they know that they’re all in the same boat. I dunno, maybe you should try smurfing. It’d be like a vacation.😏

I am a Zen Main. Pharah can kill players in Trans without damage boost. But it kinda depends on luck too based on how many rockets hit. The closer Pharah is, the more rockets hit. Each Barrage rocket hits for 40 damage, she shoots 30 rockets per second. Even if 10 rockets out the 30 hit the target in 1 second, it's 400 damage per second vs Zen's 300 healing per second Trans. Then you might argue that during the both ults, Barrage just dwindles the target under Trans HP down and will survive the 3 seconds. But let's be real, 5 other players could be doing damage to the target too. A tank with more than 200 HP has a better chance to outlast Barrage with Trans. But like I said, she needs to be relatively close when ulting to outdamage Zen's trans.

I would apreciate it, if you tell us something about numbers and stats in this situations like at 8:45 for example: Pharahs rocketbarage does 40 dmg per missile, 1200 dmg per secound and 3600 dmg during her entire ultimate. When I was silver in season 3, players were so bad compared to this - nobody grouping, after 1 lost push u pretty much lose the game bc the rest of the round your team keeps staggering in one by one, no comms, people standing still while shooting, Reapers running in 1v6 (and then getting a 6tuple kill with their ult lmaoo) But like in this match 1. Comms 2. People going the same way and immediately pushing instead of just sitting in choke 3. Rein legit resource managing his shield saying hey let's play behind the wall so I can recharge it, something I wouldn't expect from a silver rein 4. Waiting for 6 after losing a fight Did players just get better

And this Mercy is pretty good too he definitely deserves to get to Gold - just a few mistakes he made were 1. Being too close to his team which caused him to take spam damage 2. walking through the chokes when attacking instead of waiting safely behind the wall until his teammates crossed and then flying to them, which would have been a safer play 3. Not damageboosting enough - but since this is silver, it's actually surprising that he knew to damageboost soldier ult at all, nice job 4. He seems to be uncomfortable with his beam sens and had sometimes problems connecting his healbeam to the right person

If you look at the beginning of the video, you can see that the hog and I are the only non-dps mains. That means the Rein and the Zen were dps and they actually did amazing. Maybe silver players did get better, or maybe there’s just more of us now, and we all just kind of accept that we’re silver. Also, thanks for the tips! I’ll keep them in mind :D

at the end of the day, this mercy player makes some mistakes but the level of play he is at is not silver level. this is sorta the problem with playing support to climb. overwatch is a team game. no matter how much the support does they can’t do anything if they have bad dps and tanks. that being said the team also can’t win with a support. just like the resurrect ability, it’s a problem with how the game is designed.

I would actually argue that this is a silver Mercy in terms of mechanics. Sure, this player knows when to rez, and knows generally how to guardian angel, but their positioning is not the greatest and the most glaring weakness in their play, imo, is the delay they have in making decisions. Notice how every single time Zen was low, instead of immediately healing him, the Mercy took a good 1-2 seconds and then locked on to the Zen. There are also many cases where soldier was left out to die while Mercy sat on the Rein whom was more than half health. These mistakes are about as basic as it gets, and will lose you team fights more often than not.

Imagine a Zen not reacting fast enough with harmony orbs, a Lucio sitting on speed for too long, an Ana missing the first few shots before healing someone critical. Now think of a Rein that only blocks an ultimate 2 seconds into it, a Zarya that bubbles after the burst damage came in, a winston that drops bubble 2 seconds after the Dva bomb already exploded. Yes, that delay will keep you in a lower rank, especially when it's literally the most fundamental mistake you can make on Mercy, and thus is the one that is the easiest to fix. I was in plat for an extended period of time, and people will actually think you're throwing if you have this guy's reaction timing in terms of healing, and they notice it.

Mike Wang yes you are very true and it is a crucial skill but don’t you agree that this player should be at least plat. i was personally very surprised at how well they played. their delay in reactions isn’t hugely bad. only once she made the mistake of letting the zen die because she pulled out her pistol and that was certainly a mistake but it was the only obvious one i realised. the biggest delay was around one second and she was healing someone else that wasn’t on full health at the time. at the end of the day even if their mechanics were perfect with bad tanks and dps would this mercy be able to carry herself out of silver? especially with these nerfs?

Just because there was no punishment doesn't mean there wasn't a mistake. If this game was played in plat, that Zen would have died many more times than just 1, since dps in plat tend to actually chase kills beyond just line of sight. Maybe our expectations are just different, but I expect a Mercy in plat to be on the critical support within half a second of seeing them on their screen (that's around how fast I react, and I don't think my Mercy is good enough for plat). Again, if a delay of this magnitude observed in this video was to occur in one of the games I've played in plat, people would legitimately start saying this person is throwing, or they don't know how to play Mercy.

as someone who plays mercy often, the biggest thing that ticked me was the lack of awareness of the player's surroundings. they seemed to only be focused in on who's directly in front of them instead of looking around them. your beam stays connected when you turn around and for (i believe) up to 3 seconds when a wall is between the mercy & other player. this player wasnt taking advantage of the beams range and was a bit too close to their teammates. they also werent prioritizing their healing "correctly". they would heal their tanks up to full health before healing their almost dead squishies. while your tank may be at half, you have to realize thats about 150+. your squishies at half health are at less than 100hp. you have to heal your squishies first, then top off the poke damage your tanks took.

I am a GM Mercy player and I was actually fairly surprised how well this Mercy played as a silver. Of course there were a few mistakes, but we ALL make mistakes. The only thing I would LOVE to see this Mercy start doing is maneuvering herself with the bunny hop. Jump off the side of the point towards the bridge, GA up to anybody, hold space bar, and you’ll bunny hop up to that Widowmaker spot and could play around with positioning and makes it harder to be hit. It also opens her to see her entire team and she can GA away if Pharah starts hopping on her.

Froakii This isn’t every silver game, but it is very common, I think mostly because people in silver are more accepting of their rank. It’s rare that we encounter someone who thinks they belong higher. When we do they’re often the ones with the most obvious flaws.

I feel like this was one of those times where everyone on his team has been stuck in silver long enough to develop good game knowledge, awareness, and discipline and they're all basically operating on the same wavelength. I also have one of my accounts stuck in low elo and these kinds of game are just the best to have.

Master Orange Gaming If this happens in your games, what you need to do is put all the comms on your back and make every call. If you stay positive and make smart calls, even if your team doesn’t talk again they’ll listen a surprising amount, and you can singlehandedly turn your game around. Team morale is so much more important than any ultimate, and if everyone loses their morale, then the game is irreversibly lost.

(Im a Mercy main) I was watching, and I realized instead of damaging boosting, she would pull out her pistol. Which I do to spam chokes, but she did it during teamfights.

YoBoiBlink True I do often pull the pistol at the wrong time (especially during this match), but I often pull out the pistol because I feel my team was not focusing a target that was wildly out of position, like the ulting Mercy(second pistol use, I missed the button and you hear me get upset about it in the mic) or the baby dva. The first time, when zen died, was definitely wrong though.

Sty I did a personal experiment I am a Lucio Diamond Main an I have a smurf that i placed Bronze to see what its like I've seen more communication because everyone here wants to grow or climb but in Diamond everyone has a mind set of the fact that there good already no need to climb I'm fine were I am but the positioning in bronze is so bad 😂😂😂😂 I was playing attack on Junkertown they were defending right on the spawn door 😂😂

It's not a terrible strategy on junkertown. When actual pro teams in the overwatch league have tried it you know it's at least a decent idea to give a shot. Would not recommend on any other map tho

It is bannable offence to purposely throw to lower level just to troll competitive this is why we as a community lose player base Smurf in qp or arcade will still be with low levels on alt account but to ruin peoples placements or games to get down to a low rank and then ruin games on way back up to look like a super star is wrong and everyone who does this is pathetic and probably suck at their current rank

that battle mercy near the end there was good. it was one person of their team, plus not even mentioning the fact tha dva is extremely weak out of mech with no abilities and super low heath. when its one enemy that you are facing against pretty much a full team, it is perfectly fine to battle mercy instead of heals/damage boost if your team is not focused on that person who decided to go in by themselves.
