It's certainly not a "stealth" fighter at between 1 and 0.1 m/2 RCS. It doesn't have S-curve inlets to hide the highly reflective compressor blades, it doesn't use RAM coating on the entire airframe and it has all-moving tail planes which can produce large radar returns depending on their orientation. Meaning it will be possible to get missile lock on them at long range unlike actual stealth platforms like the F-35 and F-22. Considering how dense the ground based SAM defense is over most of Ukraine, Russia would almost certainly lose some of any Su-57s it sent to the war.

The latest I can find on Wikipedia is this: ‘On 13 May 2022, a production planning of United Aircraft Corporation at the Voronezh Aircraft Production Association plant showed that the production of components for 6 PAK DA was ongoing. The planning also confirmed that several PAK DA prototypes were still expected to be built between 2023 and 2026. Work on the schedule was further warranted by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, explaining that the sanctions following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine would not affect the timing of the creation of the PAK DA as the bomber does not contain any foreign components.’ I was wondering if anyone knew any more about the project.

Because... there are only 4 of them in total. Not a good idea to send them if you ask me.

It’s a stealth plane. If you knew if it was being used, it wouldn’t be very practical, would it?

Didn't the UK MoD claim that the Su-57 Felon was being used in Ukraine a few weeks ago?
@jimfraser734 Жыл бұрын
No. What they said was “Russia has been flying its new Su-57 jets against, but not over, Ukraine say the British Ministry of Defence.”

To make a long story short is that 5th gen fighters like the SU57 Felon is too expensive and a loss of one would take a big chunk of the whole fleet of them, so they use older fighters as they have more of them produced and wouldnt be that costly

I’m guessing they’re afraid it would backfire on them like the me 262 did for the Germans

Its been in Ukraine since the first 2 weeks of the war and even the Pentagon said that the Radars have not yet said it had detected the Su-57

They are using. But Russia has only 10-15 planes. They are deploying very pcatiously. They are testing their armament as well..
