Jaejoong was the main vocal of tvxq as confirmed by junsu in zip daesung youtube channel. He sang the most lines along with junsu in their japanese songs. Jaejoong was the centre, main vocal & visual of the group. You should check out Jaejoong & junsu's solo live performance too. During Jaefriends (Jaejoong youtube channel), Junsu & Jaejoong said that they were tired physically & mentally, as they had less sleep because they need to memorise their japanese songs (obviously both of them has the most lines in their japanese songs). At that time, they were not fluent in japanese. Since post tvxq & jyj, Jaejoong mostly active in Japan, as he was blacklisted from south korea together with junsu (active more in musicals) . Until now, both of them can't perform in public tv broadcast to promote their songs

Saw the zip video. Only time I remember Junsu mentioning Jaejoong was during the name portion so I've no idea where you got the confirmed main vocal from. International and JJ fans keep spreading the rumour that JJ is the main vocal despite the fact that dbsk's whole concept was "no main vocal because all members are main vocal material". SM never designated a main vocal but they did announce the acapella position, where JJ indeed is the main. Fans just took that and ran with it. I'm sure you could find a video where the members call JJ the main vocal but I also remember videos where the members call JS the main vocal. JJ typically had more lines in Japanese songs and JS almost always had the most lines in Korean songs.

I remember correctly that Junsu used to be SM's ace, he sang very well and danced very beautifully. Even though I only recently liked them, I still know that there are two popular sayings: "Junsu's voice must apologize for his dancing ability” 😂as well as with JaeJoong “his beauty must apologize for his voice” (because he’s not the group’s visual but he’s so beautiful) 🤣

jaejoong has released a whole rock album, and mine is a song dissing SM lol. he’s done some rock covers and songs when he was a part of tvxq, so it wasn’t a surprise to fans when he went the rock route. edited: and junsu did all that before taemin. i think he was inspired by the elizabeth musical he starred in, where he played an androgynous character, so he experimented with an androgynous look back then. junsu was always known as the ace who could sing and dance well at the same time. you should check out his performances of flower and intoxication

@@macipiink I'm happy that you enjoyed OT5 performances, the one and only acapella dance group. And actually JJ wasn't the visual, TVXQ wasn't divided like groups these days. They're introduced by vocal type/ vocal position: Yunho- bass, Changmin- tenor, Jaejoong- main vocal, Junsu- mid high/lead, Yoochun- mid low/baritone. JJ is in the center all the time because he's the main vocal, all members need to hear his voices clearly so they can harmonize, not bcz of visual thing. And his name in Mandarin means "Center" as well =)) It was coincident JJ being so gorgeous that new fans think he's visual. In their most iconic song Mirotic, JJ got 2 lines then disappeared cause he's the worst dancers among them LOL. This fact cracks me up every time.

It was more than 3 hours actually 😂 I was there on day 3 and although my bag and I were soaked, it was an amazing experience! I was happy the concert went on as planned despite it raining the entire day. We're all worried for them, the dancers & everyone working for the concert (safety first regardless!), and many thought if they'll cancel 🤣

19:12 That was the craziest era of the blacklist. It was hard for JYJ members to be able to work with the people in the kpop industry because of SM. So they mostly worked with foreigners. Junsu was one of the first kpop artist who worked with foreigner dancers.

Jaejoong's two songs represent different stages. "Mine" is directed to SM Entertainment. The video is dark, as is this period for the three members of JYJ. While "Glorious Day" is charged with joy and enthusiasm, symbolizing the current stage, which he himself admits that he feels happy.

I do agree, probably the most regretful thing that ever happened in my fangirl life was not getting to hear the five of them - complete - live, and as much as I had been a fan when they were still 5 as a whole, I had been a measly 14 year old at that time and it's as impossible as a blue moon for me to be able to attend their concerts; when i did get older (and have money to attend concerts already lol), I was able to attend yunho and changmin's concert as two once, and it was still an unforgettable experience, especially their version of 'love in the ice' as only the two of them; but the one that left me a deep impression was hearing jaejoong live, he is the most beautiful sounding human i have ever heard, I remember seating there the first time I heard him live in his bangkok stop and thinking, even if jaejoong someday does a concert where he doesn't even appear on the crowd and only his live vocals could be heard, i would pay whatever amount just to get to hear him live; i went to the concert thinking i'd be blown away by his visuals (for obvious reasons) but i left the crowd not even paying much attention to his visuals but how powerful his voice was; and i would definitely crumble if there ever comes a time where they can perform again together; (anyways, jaejoong and junsu will be having a joint concert this november 2024 in seoul, and i'm still holding hope for at least an asia tour cos I still haven't heard junsu live); anyways, thank you very much for this reaction, I enjoyed it so much ^^

I remember that back then Jaejoong wasn't the visual of the group, he was the center and main vocal. Although there are many different opinions about TVXQ's main vocal. But TVXQ is different from other singing groups nowadays because they are an accapella dance group. Their music is divided according to the suitability of each member's voice to the song, not too much pressure on line balance. Visuals in groups did not exist in TVXQ OT5 era. Jaejoong was the first visual shock and SM realized this was a selling point. After Jaejoong left, they were desperate for a replacement. Of course, to be a visual and a main vocalist was a rare find, which is why nowadays male groups are powdered with makeup and will have a mix of center, main vocalist, visual, etc. positions. As others have said, TVXQ was designed as an acapella group so there were technically no "main" vocalists. However, the strongest vocalists were Jaejoong, Junsu and Changmin. Out of all of them, Jaejoong had the least nuances in his voice which is why he was designated as main melody. With the current mindset of K-popper thinking visuals can't sing, poor Jaejoong keeps being treated like he's only a pretty face. But I'm glad people learn to not underestimate him. He's blessed with visuals but cursed to not be recognized for his vocals.

My destiny is a japanese song and they sang it as TOHOSHINKI so it is just make sense if they have japanese style of singing. If u are a fan u will understand that TVXQ! and TOHOSHINKI are the same people but have different vibes. Even the fandom is different. TVXQ!s is CASSIOPEIA and TOHOSHINKI is BIGEAST. The songs vibe are also different. Back then, they said when they flew to Japan, they swicthed off TVXQ! button and swicthed on TOHOSHINKI button. Even the language too, all 5 of them will only speak in Japanese when they are TOHOSHINKI

Correct me if i'm wrong but iirc, the concept of main vocal, main visual etc didn't really exist or they they had different meaning on that time. Like Jaejoong was the main vocal but everyone knows just how hella good Junsu is that if DBSK as 5 to be debuted in current gen, Junsu would be selected as the main vocal instead of Jaejoong. Sure Jaejoong was already really good back then but Jaejoong's vocal was purely out of his own hard works (he used to be deaf tone) to be where he is currently meanwhile Junsu is more innate with the talent. However, Jaejoong was selected as the main vocal bcs they were originally an acapella group and Jaejoong's voice fits the mid range that can tie all of their voices together to make a great harmony together. But their Japanese producers sure love Jaejoong's voice so much that his part covered up about half of most of their Japanese songs (50% Jaejoong, 30% Junsu, 10% Changmin and another 10% being shared by Yunho and Yoochun lol).
