Stand 2 as a poke from behind the clone (54:00) is my bread and butter for feeling out what my opponent will do in response to the clone setups, which informs whether to go low or grab for future clones. It seriously is Sub’s best button in almost every situation.

I would fall short of calling Sub a zoner, but I see what you're saying. He does indeed use Klone and Ice Punch to control the screen, playing decent keepaway to harangue the opponent at range. His real archetype is that of a corner-specialist trap character now - which he didn't have up until this last patch. His goal is to pop out a Klone and find inventive ways to get opponents to get frozen by it.

THIS I've always been saying that Sub wants to control the screen by zoning and frustrating the opponent. His gameplan has a lot of overlap with shangs gameplan XD

Yes indeed! He's been like that since the beginning of the game's life, but people seem to only fixate on his 50/50s, which isn't reliable.

anywhere after ice clone if they dont armour u can ice ball clone or vapors if they jump, if they sit there clone push or slide, if they try to move depending on what u think theyll do he has good options

Amen to that - this character's fortunes can really reverse in his favor once he has people cornered. That's what I want to do with these videos - help guide the development of this character to get Sub players to loop Klone combos in the corner.

Oh, I'll make a not-so-bold prediction now - Sub-Zero will return in the next MK game, just as he has in literally every previous MK title before this one. If he doesn't, the Sub players will make the Mileena community look soft and kind with their outcry.

@ I would hope so, from being a sub main since way back. Though I must say, something about seeing my man be put “on ice” at the end of chaos reigns didn’t sit well with me. And while scorpion is in the game, hanzo is not. (Considering cameos are labeled as non canon unless shown in story mode)

@@Codename_aether Yeah, they didn't explain anything with Noob or Havik very well by the end of Khaos Reigns... But NRS will find a way to bring Sub-Zero back as a character, even if it's not Bi-Han or Kuai Liang. If anything, I think Bi-Han and Sektor will have a son who will become the next Sub-Zero. Either that, or someone else will be given the mantle.

​@mrAPchem Hanzo becoming Sub-Zero is a theory I've heard as well. I actually also heard one where the new Sub-Zero Bi-Han and Kuai Liangs dad, originally thought to be dead. I think both would be cool.

I pretty much like all the MK games it’s my favourite video game franchise of all time although I’ll be honest I still much prefer both MK9 & MKX that being said I’m hoping the rumours of MK1 finishing up early this year aren’t true despite my constructive criticism of the game I would like to see it get better with more content for another year like Ed Boon has said in the past but we shall see I guess. I totally agree with about what you said about MK11 in your recent other videos. Great channel MK channel 👍🏻

Thank you so much!!! Yes, MK is my favorite franchise and I do really enjoy MK1 in a way that I didn't really like MKX or MK11, though it's still not quite as good as MK9. Given now that there's confusion with Jade's voice actress seemingly de-confirming the end of MK1's development, there might be some hope for the game to live on.

Oh, I still am a teacher!! I teach high school mathematics by day and then GED students at nights twice a week. I typically don't make math videos, but if I did, I certainly would make them in exactly the same style that I do these. Whiteboards and markers are my best friends!!
