SUBARU DRIFT BUILD | Finding the parts

In this episode of Dirtcheapdailies, Aaron scrounges the junkyard for specific parts for the outback Drift build!
The transmission we'll be using is out of a 1997 Toyota T100. Earlier this year the phase 1 Subaru 5mt blew up because of the extra stressors put on it when converted to rear wheel drive. The best option when converting a car to RWD is to obviously use a RWD transmission! Luckily there's a guy who makes an adapter bell housing from toyota transmissions to Subaru EJ motors. Luckier still, the EZ subaru motors have the same bell housing as the EJ motors, so this drift build can be powered by a Subaru H6!
As for the rear differential, the stock Subaru R160 is tiny!! Opting for a Ford 8.8 is going to be the cheapest and strongest option for us!

Stephen Maley its actually very sturdy and the wheels they use are welded together. That's the way they do it at every junk yard. I trust those then some store bought stands

Yea, pretty sure mounting the cars is the best thing they do at that yard. I was watching them place cars and they take a lot of care to make sure it’s not gonna fall over. They’d lose their business if someone ever died or was hurt under a car.

Dirtcheapdaily I didn't know the wheels was welded together in the UK we just grab forklift a lift the car up but not all scrapyard offer that
