The speech is still one of my favourite chapters of Rezero. In the WN, when the adults heard his name and how he was the one who killed Sloth it got a big reaction. Unfortunately, it didnt really show people reacting to that part much here. Killing an arch bishop is a BIG deal. They've caused so much death and destruction over the decades.

My first thought was that AL was playing the villain, to make everyone want to step up and deny his words. And it's not like what he said was wrong or anything, being the hero isn't normal, it's not something to expect out of someone, Subaru is pretty amazing to make so many think otherwise He also was similarly exasperated with how casual Emilia was, which just made her more sure of herself, really just who the hell is Al, if you brighten up one frame of him in this episode you can sort of see his eyes.

Regulus is the best husband in Re:Zero, he's a great man who stands up for people's rights and is the kindest of all the Sin Archbishops Regulus has had a total of 291 wives yet he clothes them all with pretty uniforms, they're well fed enough to keep their pretty appearances They all live in a really fancy mansion. They all get to go outside on long vacations with their loving husband often when he's off sight finding them new friends to live with and join their ranks He loves them all equally and gives them the same rights as everyone else he marries. What's not to love? Sure he kidnapped all of them, forced them to marry himself without their consent, murdered their friends and family infront of them to break their minds. He proceeded to kill wife after wife infront of them and probably made them clean up the remains to desensitize them to what being his wife entails So there are some minor inconveniences but who needs to sweat such small stuff. A proof of his love an attention is the fact that he gives them all numbers. Think about it. Take every person you've met and replace their names with a specific number between 1-300. Now for the rest of your life try to remember that number for each person without fail. You can't? Well Regulus did. He remembers the names of every wife he has and even killed... And there's a lot of them. To remember the specific number to almost 300 people individually shows the thought and care he puts into his relationships with each wife. Heck we all saw how angry he was when Emilia was frowning saying that she was tired. He admitted his mistake in not noticing she was tired and even tried to kill number 184 who failed to notice that someone who'll become so precious to him was under such duress. In a way Regulus was standing up for Emilia's rights who 184 had violated by overlooking her exhaustion. Compare this to say Garfiel's mom who's husband has gone missing, abandoned her and his family when they need him the most. Such reckless disregard for the rights of his family. Regulus would never do such things. He would rather kill all of his wives to ensure that they wouldn't have to live under such negligence of a lesser husband. Regulus is the best husband of Re:Zero without exception. He's also the biggest supporter of the first amendment and human rights. All he wants is for people to not interrupt him when he talks, is the first amendment not the freedom to speak freely without someone trying to take that right away from him? Interrupting someone when they talk is like trying to rob that right away, one of everyone's very few possessions. Is it wrong for Regulus to want to live without his rights being violated? Sure, he kills anyone who violates those rights but he was granted the ability to do so through his authority of greed. He's simply defending his rights with the powers given to him in the most appropriate method avaliable. Regulus is a kind and selfless man along with being a true symbol of freedom and standing up for your own human rights. Regulus is the most noble and unselfish character in the story. We should all strive to be better. Like Regulus Corneas.

at 16:00 mark, whatever that is in the actual episode, Al's eyes are actually visible in that scene surprisingly enough. Its been fueling reddit quite a bit today... This was the 2nd speech from subaru i have been waiting to get animated and it didnt disappoint. Just one more to go. In the WN at least, they drafted lines for him to follow and at some point he deviated into what we saw here and by the end of it everyone in the room was actually dumbfounded at how powerful of a speech he was able to give. Like actually speechless lol.

Like everybody i love Subaru´s speech and how have he develope as a character, but men this episode also show how much Emilia has grow and how much she love and trust Subaru. in this kind of situation Season 1 Emilia wouldn't have trust that Subaru or anybody would try to save her, she probably would have put a fake smile but suffer in silence. Season two Emila would have expected that Subaru will come but at every moment fearing for his safety and hating herself for being the "princess in distress" probably accepting her fate so that nobody (especially subaru) would suffer for her. but this emila trust in her knight and in herself, she knows she need to stay buy just to protect the other wifes and know that this weeding will never happen because the man that she really love will do whatever it takes to save her.

Since the season 3 opener was 1.5 hours-ish, one can think of that as three-four episodes. Re:Zero is just splitting it in 11/11 or 12/12 where I expect the season's final episode will also have a 1.5 hour length or something close to it. This episode was amazing -- belongs in the space of best anime episodes of all time, not just the series

A lot of people criticized Subaru in the first season for many reasons, but he's still basically a kid in a really horrible situation. By the end of season two he made tremendous growth and was only in Lagunica for about two or three months. If any of those people still criticize him after seeing the growth from a whole year of him working on himself, they are just factually incorrect. This season has been absolutely stellar for all of the characters we’ve seen so far

I know the flashbacks and all got you emotional but it doesn't change the fact that Al is making sense even yourself admitted it before the emotions flew in. The speech which engraved the Hero Natsuki Subaru not just in the hearts of those who fought alongside him during the battle of the white whale and the arcbishop of sloth, not just of those close to him he saved in the sanctuary but now of those of the kingdom too and most importantly his own heart, which finally accepted, that he indeed is worthy of being called a hero. This part made me cry when i read it years ago in the webnovel, yesterday i read the light novel version for the first time to check for differences and to refresh my mind and of course to steel my heart again.
