I was thinking of getting a new Outback. They're going for 39k avg at the local Subaru dealership. How do you feel about the Outback? I've heard good things. My only problem is I'm very tall from the waist up. Headroom is crucial for me. Not sure if I can fit in it. Lol.

@johnjacobs1776 I work in sales at a subaru dealership. I'm 6' 2" and I can comfortably fit in the outback. Front and back. Leg room and head room. @johnjacobs1776 the autumn green is also my favorite. Tan interior is only in the touring trim which puts you around 42k. The wilderness starts at 42 as well, both fully loaded come in at 44-45 but they have the turbo. The wilderness has insane gear ratio-that plus the turbo makes it surprisingly fast. Like might beat a wrx from red-light to red-light 🤯

@@grege9244Again, thank you for the information. I thought the limited had a tan interior but I stand corrected. I saw they revamped the wilderness edition for 2024. Subaru are very nice and are not super high priced like some of these other brand dealers. I've never had a CVT transmission but ive heard good things about it. Most cars are outrageously priced especially truck and suvs. There's so many unsold...and repos at an all time high. Subaru isn't as expensive for what you get. Plus they have great warranties. Enjoy your new wilderness edition and have a good rest of the weekend.

I lived in Colorado for 19 years. There are TWO cars that can do the snow. One is Audi and who wants to pay for that? The other is Suburu and they rock.
@joshmiller2725
@joshmiller2725 Жыл бұрын
Subarus are incredible in the snow. If you don’t live where it snows, Toyota or Honda probably has the edge for reliability. But in the snow Subaru blows everyone else out of the water. A Subaru with all seasons is comparable to an awd rav4 with snow tires. And a Subaru with snow tires is basically a snow cat.

@@ButtmanAtHeartit sucks when there’s no variety in reliability. It means Toyota and Honda can charge more and remove features knowing very well people will keep buying their cars for reliability. The Crosstrek allows me to carry all of my tools, photography equipment, bikes, kayaks, snowboards, etc and can handle all weather conditions and all of the offroad situations that I throw at it. The safety features are fantastic, the gas mileage is great and they are fun to drive. Truly awesome vehicles.

Would have been nice if they had it for my 2013 Forester, with its oil consumption problem that led to catastrophic failure 500 miles before my next oil change was due. They had recently discovered this problem, posted a bulletin, and extended the warranty coverage to replace the engine if it caused a problem before 100k miles and 8 years. My car had 96k miles, but was 8 years, 7 months old. This of course was in June 2021, at which point many people had been driving a lot less for 15 months. Had I driven it normally in 2020, the problem likely would have presented itself at a similar mileage but before the 8 year mark (which was October 2020). It would take a lot more new reliability history for me to buy another Subaru. After wrecking my 2015 Volvo two years later, I am now the proud owner of a 2004 Corolla. It's not perfect aesthetically OR mechanically, but it drives fine and it cost me $1500, which was more than what a friend was asking for it.
@billsanter

@@braceyourselvesfortruth2492 If it failed because you didn't keep oil in it, it probably wouldn't have been covered. Apparently they think using a, quart between oil changes is normal. This is actually from a real Subaru owner: I made it a whole 300 miles in my brand new Crosstrek 2024 sport (yeah the fancy one with yellow stripe and all) before It forced a full stop on me while driving!! Do I need to repeat that vehicle was in 'D' mode when the computer decided its time to full stop??!. It locked the gear shift, it locked the steering, it disconnected the electronic throttle. Even the Starlink emergency button quit. Subaru towed it away 3 weeks ago. If I had been on the freeway, not in turtle mode, it could have killed me! Not sure if I even want it back. Subaru, I'm afraid of my Subaru!!!

I’ve had a HORRIBLE experience with my 2016 Subaru Impreza sport (very similar to the crosstrek). In 60K miles, I’ve had to replace the CVT transmission ($8K), wheel bearings, one strut, and strut mounts. All of this on top of regular maintenance (I’m meticulous about this). I even replaced the transmission fluid at 40K to play it safe, and the transmission still fell apart. Don’t touch a Subaru with a CVT. Or any CVT for that matter. I think I might like it a lot more if it were a manual! 😂

Not hating on Scoobydues! But my experiences where horrible with Subaru. Me and my wife have owned 4 all together. 2 brand new 2011 Forester's. Fun to drive! I had a manual transmission on mine. Great on the beach. Then I noticed low oil brand new! My wife's Forester started using oil instantly too. Sometimes the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree on her car and had to disconnect battery to readjust. Finally her car started leaking oil like bad and took it to the dealership consistently for oil leaks and it was a 3 year old car. Subaru dealership took the car back and sold us a brand new 2015 Forester XT with same payments. Didn't have too many problems with the turbo model but got totaled in a accident. Traded my Forester in for a 2013 new WRX. Owned the WRX for 6 years. Worried the tranny or engine would grenade eventually I put 36,000 miles in 6 years and was a garage queen and well maintained. But in all Subarus we have owned the brakes and rotors wear prematurely and if you have sidewall damage on one tire you have to replace all four tires because of the awd system. Would I buy another Subaru? NO! Have owned Toyota and Honda vehicles since and not looked back.
