I have watched a half a dozen reviews of this Sonata N-line, and test drove one myself. The smile and laugh in every review when the driver first floors it tells the story. This is one pleasingly fast and fun sedan. Hard to beat the value at the price.

I had a 2021 N Line for 26k miles and the drive assist was FLAWLESS. I was always super impressed with how well it did on highways and through traffic. Also with how long it would let you go without touching the wheel. I’ve heard you (and literally only you) complain a couple of times about their system; but most publications will tell you that it’s the best next to Tesla's. Not sure why “HDA” didn’t come up when you were on the highway because it would in mine. The only flaw this car has is not having a LSD. Was a lot of fun and a great car for long trips.
@jeremycorrao2 жыл бұрын
Why did you sell or trade it in?
@vjdfl52 жыл бұрын
@@jeremycorrao two main reasons.. One was that I was racking on miles quickly and I thought I might as well trade it in while used car prices were so high. I got almost 32k when I traded it in with over 26k miles. The second was because this car is 9/10 perfect. I cannot emphasize enough how mind boggling it is that they did nothing to contain the front end grip off the line. Nothing more embarrassing that trying to quickly pass someone at 25 mph and having your front tires losing all traction in the process. I would be like right next to the person I was passing while the tires would be screaming with so much wheel hop. It felt like I would just be sitting there in the lane next to them awkwardly waiting for a tire to just freaking grip so I could pass the damn person.The last reason is how horrible the headlights on it are. Seems so random but they are the worst headlights I have ever had on a car. I don’t think there was a time I ever drove at night and didn't think about how shitty they were. Got the Elantra N and it’s a way better car in almost every way. Just a little less smooth suspension and a little more cost cutting on materials but I would never trade back
@jeremycorrao2 жыл бұрын
@@vjdfl5 thanks man! I'm glad that you like the Elantra N. I was initially looking at that one but they are so hard to find; at least they are here. Another reason I chose the Sonata N line was because I use the car for work and I'm in and out of it a lot. The bolstered seats on the Elantra N are stiffer so i figured that it would be easier to get in and out of the Sonata. Another reason is that I feel like the N version is more special and I didn't want to use it everyday for work.

This is a very cool car, I test drove one. It is legitimately fast. What the car reviewers don't mention however is that to drive a Sonata N-Line you have to first buy one from a Hyundai salesman, and then have it serviced at a Hyundai dealer. Good luck with that. My experience with the test drive and negotiations was terrible. They advertised the car as new but got to the dealer and it was definitely used (7000 miles shop loaner), and then when I wanted to think it over bc they bait-n-switched me, they used high-pressure closing techniques to get the sale even though they wanted to charge MSRP for a used N-line. I walked out.

I'm really impressed with this car and would definitely consider this. The value of performance and practicality is top notch. Compared to the Kia, heated/cooled seats and a heated steering wheel are a must have. However I noticed right away that the fit and finish of the front end wasn't right compared to other Hyundai vehicles. The driver side headlight had a loose trim piece and neither headlight lined up with the bumper along the bottom. Given its just a press vehicle and probably a early production vehicle, I'm sure the others won't have that issue.

Hi Matt, here are my thoughts.....@2:18, hit the start button, and 'it starts right up' (one of my favorite Matt..isms)........how about 'and it starts right up, even in the cold and snow.'.....*@8:39, I like the split screen. .... as far as this vehicle is concerned, I really can't deal with the front sort of fish wide grille. I have liked Sonatas over the years, but this front fascia is a little weird for me. I like sedans, however I really am not much for the other sedans you featured either....I like Honda accords, but the black bottom half of the accord grille, looks like the grille fell off, and that is the car frame that is supposed to hold the grille. The Camry has a weird front also. And Kia front looks sort of plastic-like. I probably would prefer Subaru Legacy for looks, styling, interior, handling, and has 4 wheel drive if I were choosing a sedan in the non-luxury brands. The Mazda would be a good choice,...especially in the beautiful soul red color that they offer, however the wide grille is also not appealing to me and the mazda 6 sedan is discontinued for 2022. The planned 2023 Mazda, does have a nicer grille, at least from the photos that are released. Thank you Matt for reading my thoughts.

Great video, Matt! I personally am not a fan of this car. I think it’s such a crude way of looking at “performance.” This one’s really pushing what is acceptable. I’d MUCH rather take the balanced chassis of a Stinger or a Genesis G70 over this, even if there’s less power. I’ve driven too many overpowered FWD cars in my life, and trust me when I say it gets old really quickly. I love a GTI or a CTR because they’re well engineered and tuned. This is just sloppy. Edit: I really enjoyed the Focus ST, even though it had torque steer. That was an active decision by Ford, because they decided to let in more steering feedback by dialing in less assist. And it wasn’t completely overpowered like this thing.
@vjdfl52 жыл бұрын
This comment in bonkers lol. Sloppy? Sure it’ll spin a tire off the line but this thing is a beast when you get it going and can haul ass down a twisty backroad. It can hit 60 in 5 flat even with the lack of front end grip off the line. Go read what C/D, MT etc had to say about it. Watch MotoManTV bomb it down a twisty mountain road and rave about it. I owned both this car and a 2017 GTI autobahn and I can tell you that the Sonata felt like 2 classes above the GTI in every way… and was 3k less than the GTI "On the whole, the Sonata N Line is truly excellent. In fact, the result of all the work Hyundai and its N Line team did is so impressive that anything less than a BMW M3 or Audi RS5 would have the devil's own job of shaking you loose on a twisty bit of back road.
