I have been trying this and every time I heat the design to melt the powder, it gets tiny squiggles in it. This transfers to the shirt. Has anyone else had this problem? I’m thinking about trying a different brand of dtf powder to see if it will help, but it’s $30 for each powder, so it’s getting kind of expensive. Help!

When it comes to sublimation you should not need to put paper in between the shirt. If your shirt is bleeding the ink through, your sublimation printer is putting out too much sublimation ink.

Hi Joy! While we have heard mixed reviews if this technique holds up in the laundry we can say the recommended wash last time is between 20 to 25 washes. However with all personalized items we suggest gentle laundering which includes tumble dry low, air dry if possible, and washing with light colors - Dawn 🙂

The hot peel did not work at all for me. It peeled everything off and I was VERY disappointed with it. It did work better with the very cold peel. I found that out by accident when I left one for several hours before peeling because I was so disappointed with peeling hot.

I have an Epson 2760. I purchased DTF film for Epson and all DTF printers. It came with white stickers to help with pulling film. Now with that resolved, it prints only about an inch and a half them pushes the film out but not releases it. I even went and used the Asub printer settings and still barely a 2 inch print. It worked really well with my Epson 2760 and transferred to 100% cotton but it left the same clear film that was partially peeling like Crystal showed in the video. Hi Mandy! We've had customers share two tips that worked for them. First, it was to slow down the printing. Second, if you are printing on some photo print settings, the ink can take longer to dry due to the layer thickness it is printing. Try the ‘plain paper’ which is much better suited to the surface it is printing on! - Dawn 🙂

@@DesignBundles Thanks so much for the upate! I've also found an option in my Epson print properties under the maintenance tab->extended settings. You can adjust the print density. I've been playing around with it and getting some much better results. I did try other paper type settings with no luck, particularly when using the large format option for the large format sublimation film. My et-15000 seems very particular about paper thickness, I don't know if it's just my printer or what!

Crystal I don’t have a DTF question but I do have a sublimation printer question. Currently I have an Epson WF 7840 Thst has been converted to sublimation, the chips are costly so I was considering downsizing to the Ecotank 2850 to eliminate having to keep purchasing chips when the ink needs to be refilled. I have been researching the sawgrass printers and was wondering if you have any suggestions. I know the ink is expensive for the sawgrass and not suRe how many prints approximately can be printed before needing more ink. Any help that you can offer is most appreciated.

I have been using the epson L3111 for two years now for sublimation without any hassles. Its a tank printer so there are no chips or anything to be replaced. When I bought the printer I bought the sublimation ink seperate as it is a an ordinary ink jet printer, did not put the ink in that came with the printer but put the subli ink. Its been 2 years now that im still using the same bottles I bought and I print alot of sublimation and have done alot of tests and trials as well. Highly recommend that little printer its dynamite.

I'm having issues and not sure what else to try. I printed using Welacer brand dtf film using my Sawgrass printer. I used Godora transfer powder and let it cure for about a minute and then pressed using my cricut easy press that was set to 385 for 20 sec on Gildan 100% cotton t-shirt. I did a cold peel and pieces of shirt would peel off and the shirt felt flaky. It was suggested to let the powder cure for 3-5 minutes so I let it cure for 4-1/2 minutes and repeated the process and when i did the cold peel the whole design came off. I have know idea what to try next. Any suggestions?

I have an epson 15000 and I have tried several different times and ways and it will not take my paper through even taped. So what do you recommend

Hey so I have tried this out and I love it! But when I do it, there is either powder still left on it or there is lint and the powder is transferring on it making it all weird looking. Any advice to making this stop?

Hi Braea! Are you shaking out the excess before you heat? Also, we suggest using a link roller before applying!

@@DesignBundles yes I am. I was told that it was the powder. So I retried it and again it’s the same. I pour the powder on it (kind heavy) and then shake it off. And I used a brush around the sides. Someone also told me you should not see the powder on it when curing. I left it to cure for like 30 seconds at 200-300 degrees and still saw the powder. Am I putting too much powder on it?

Same here. I think it depends on where you get the powder. I’ve heard it makes a difference. I’m not fond of the first one I bought.
